I've seen about 5 people on this forum TODAY say they work at Gamestop
So Questions are:

Do you work at Gamestop?
How are these Gamestop Employees finding this site?
Does Gamestop Hire 16 year olds? (Personal Question)

1. Yes.
2. What kind of question is that? :/ Probably the same as you did.
3. They do hire 16 year olds, but that depends on your local stores. 16 is the minimum age, but the district manager in my area had one guy wait until his 17th birthday before he could be hired. Younger employees tend to be the most likely to steal, and it is kind of odd to hire someone who can't legally buy some of the products (M rated games).

Are manger wouldn't let us hire on 16 year olds, even around the holidays when we would hire temps just to get by. Guess he was a jerk.

By the way, did your store change managers almost every season??

1) Yes I do, but HIGHLY considering of going to the Crazy side, and if don't get that then Game Crazy.

2) Found the site when I was looking for the soundtrack and official artwork

3) As the others said, depends on the manager.

Most stores like Gamestop (like Blockbuster) won't bother with people under 18 because of the restrictive underage workers laws. So it really depends--most of the time it's not worth the store's time to accommodate the younger worker's needs.

Its only coveniant to hire 16yr olds as seasonal Temps because we can let them go afterwards. But rumor from what I heard is that GS will probably change its policy to hire 17yr olds because selling an M-rated game to a minor is bad, and it will be equally bad if someone under 17 was selling a title meant for those 17 and older.

As I tell the whiny kids who ask why I can't sell them GTA I tell them to "Write to your congressman to change it, but they will never read it because you can't vote so you aren't important enough to care for you" But only on the EXTREME when I say that >_>

I've only been working for about two months, but as far as I know, my store has only had two managers in recent times, and the current one has been in charge for several months. We've been going through Third Keys and Assistant Managers like crazy though.

From my experiences, many of the people who work at gamestop are obnoxious and cheap. Although that is just my opinion. :jake:

You're extremely lucky.

They wouldn't let me buy a copy of Halo 3 at a local one because I didn't have a state I.D., even though I had three different student I.D.s :/ The employees at the major downtown ones (I live in Philadelphia) are huge assholes.

You need to understand this. We sell a M rated game to anyone under 17, we are basically fired for doing so. Hence why they are assholes about it. I myself wouldn't care with it, but if it will cost me my job, then never mind forget it.

About 3 of the people at my Gamestop seem to know what Phoenix Wright is. When I went in to reserve T&T the guy who helped me knew what it was and two guys talking in the back came out and commented to him about a Godot coffee mug while I was walking out.
