That's right, a topic for Anime Conventions. If you are going to any major Anime Conventions, post here, or something. If you have any interesting Anime Convention stories, post here, as well. Pics? Sure, why not.

Anyways, I'm going to Anime Central this year.

Hearing you and Croik discuss this makes me sick.

I want to go so badly to Anime Central. I even planned out the trip and had to cancel it with a sorrowful state of sorrow. ;_;

There is one coming to the capital soon. I may take my in-law to that if said person can learn to not be a brat.

I'm going to Anime Expo this year. I still need to register too. My friend may not be able to make it this year with me, so I'm a little bummed out about that.

I'm waiting for Animethon to roll by (August) so I can get really cheap manga. Last year I managed to buy four volumes of Steam Detectives for $2 each, plust a stack of art prints. I'm a vendor's whore :B

Anywho, this thus by far my favourite print. I bought it because I thought it was Angel Starr at the time.

@Phoenix_Fan: Depends on the size. The one I've been to has panels on different subjects (some times with voice actors). Ah, and anime improv :0 Hilarity.
More likely than not, there is a room or parking lot full of vendors where you can buy import games, doujins, figures, wooden swords, clothing, etc. Not to mention artists who can do on-the-spot commissions.

There ARE some in England. For example, Tokonatsu up in Milton Keynes, which some friends and I are going to in the summer. With any luck I'll be going as Maya... and maybe Phoenix, if Zizzo has her way.

Seriously, you should try and come. Everyone there's really nice and it's one of the most fun things ever.
And it needs more PW fans there Larry

It can get pretty expensive; if you can get kid's prices (either by actually being under 16 (I think) or looking young and lying), the train's not that bad, but you'll probably need to get a taxi from MK to the con itself... we tried walking from the station to the con last year... with some pretty disasterous results O.o

Still, if you could make it, it'd be 329 flavours of awesome.

Aww, Phoenix_fan... Maybe next year? Is there a chance he'll change his mind if you go with some friends/siblings/something?

Never been to an anime convention and probably never will. I'm too scared of not knowing enough about anime.

It sucks that I'm too much of a coward... My newest goal in life is to go to an anime convention, find a group of Naruto fans, and yell "BELIEVE IT!" at the top of my lungs just to see how much it pisses them off.

Don't mention you're an anime fan.

I hear a lot of exhibitors and vendors are pissed if you are.

EDIT : I MIGHT be going to the anime convention in Montreal, called Otakuthon, and I may harbor feelings of hatred towards approximately 80% of the people attending the convention. Especially if they talk to me after I tell them not to.

If he's talking about the ComicCon, he probably means the San Diego ComicCon. There were a lot of exhibiting people that went on record that they hated the whole anime thing because it took space away from the American produced comic books.

Personally, it's a load of bull, but what can ya do, huh?

I'm going to A-Kon in June! I'm cosplaying Maya, and I'll have a Phoenix with me, and I'm meeting up with a Phoenix, an Edgeworth, and possibly a Franziska. I've never cosplayed with other people before, especially not from the same video game. I can't wait! Will Powers

I'm also going to be at JAFAX, maybe with an Ema. And MAYBE maybe Anime Weekend Atlanta in September, but that's looking like a no right now =\

I've been to a few conventions so far; Big Apple Anime Fest 2003 and 2004, AnimeNext 2005, and NY Comic Con 2006. Haven't been to one since, though, mainly because I don't like going by myself. Or if it's out of state, I'd rather get a ride.
