But yeah, despite how ridiculous sounding this is, it seems no real damage has been done, and we can't really judge how much of a waste of money this is until the results come back.

A little prior knowledge would have been nice however...

I'm surprised that no one mentioned the end of tides as we know it, in an alternate moonless reality. Now we'd just rely on the sun. I'm fairly sure that sudden change would cause some serious complications to the food chain.

That and "once in a blue moon" would reaaaaally mean a long time to wait.

As an aside, I wonder if by throwing missles at the moon, that we'll finally learn what kind of cheese it's made out of.
