Hmm...most of you seem to have water related experiences, I hate to laugh but I find that somewhat amusing (I mean no offence to you though) as I'm a very good swimmer (actually I was scared of the water for a few years but I learnt)
I was thinking the same thing, but thought it was too rude to say
Not everyone has someone that will introduce them properly to water or teach them how to swim correctly. We lived with my grandparents at the time, who have a bigass pool so I learned when I was smaller. I took swimming lessons, but I think I already learned enough at home, I was scared of the deep end because for some reason in their pool you couldn't see the bottom.
I can never remember what exactly happened, but I always loved to swim till someone at my dad's scared the living hell outta me about the drain. I wouldn't leave the steps on the pool for a few years, then after that I'd cling to the side. I think I was about 7 or 8 before I was able to go around the side of the pool (still holding to the side) but after that it got easier, and I was back, attempting, to flip off the diving board xD
I wish I could remember who and what scared me so bad, because being scared to death of my own pool felt horrible (well they did try to turn me against my grandma, so I could see why they'd scare me) If I ever find out, they're ALL getting shanked anyway
