Oh geez. So, there's this guy at my work who has been flirting with me since before I even worked there (I'd come in to get take-out and he'd say something like, 'hello gorgeous!'). So, last week, after a stressful day at work he invited me to go out and get drinks with him. I accepted, albeit a little reluctantly. Not only was he a co-worker, but also quite a bit older than me (25, to be exact. But I'm not going to reveal how old I am because I like to keep that a mystery :godot:

)

Anyway, we went out... got pretty drunk... didn't do much more than make out, though.

The next day, I walk into work... and one of my coworkers asks me if I was out with him last night. "Yeah, I was," I responded. "Why?"

He gave me a funny look. "Uh, Katy...? You do know he's married, right?"

There is a woman almost exactly my age (she's literally two days older than me) with whom I have a...complicated history. I first saw her at college. For reasons unknown, I was immediately drawn to her like iron to the magnet. Love at first sight and all that jazz. I all but wrote it off as a fluke in the beginning, going on with my regular business. A series of coincidences led me to join a student group, of which she was a member. In my own klutzy way, I attempted to break the ice. After a couple tries, she told me upfront that she wasn't interested in deepening the acquaintance. Disappointed and a little angry, I respected her wishes but sought to punish her by paying her back in her own coin. I left her pointedly alone and generally ran from her as Jonah did from Nineveh, attempting for all I was worth to banish her from my thoughts. As the years passed, the great fish overtook me. Against my will I learned that I had run away from her only to befriend her elder brother.

Caught in an uncomfortable stalemate, I scraped my courage together and reestablished contact with her, this time with far better results. We became good friends. I began to hope again. Then prospects started to look a little grim and I backed off again, though I didn't sever contact this time. There was much awkward silence, punctuated by brief happy interludes when we wished each other happy birthdays. I had resigned myself yet again to the idea that nothing further would ever come of our friendship when she invited me to watch a documentary. Pleasantly surprised that she should offer even this little unsolicited gesture, I accepted and wrote her a brief letter of thanks afterward, not expecting a reply. A week or two later she responded, including an apology for not having responded sooner, though she concluded with what could be interpreted as a simple plug for the documentary and its agenda. I've no intention of holding my breath for her--she's wasted enough of my time as it is--but these apparently mixed signals are leaving me a bit...befuddled. :Hoboright:

Hng, since I overcame my shyness a year or so ago, in the begining of 8th grade, I have gatherd more storys to tell. One I can think of in definte was in the last day of 8th grade, I was in my class, doing basicly nothing cause it IS the last day of school, so I decided to whip out my DS and finally beat Apollo Justice. Well, while I was playing, my crush came in the class from the other class, and came to check what I was doing. Basicly, she is a CSI fan and when I explained the game she was intersted and sat with me for like an hour to play (Obvcourse that put me in a tight spot, as I wanted to talk to her but I was busy with AJ :gant:

). Anyway, while we were playing, and she helped me alot with the testimonys, I asked her if she might want to play the first one, and she said it looks like a boring game. :scratch:

was basicly my reaction, and what followed was an awkward silence and then I went back to the game. Well, I since forgived her but thats just one story I wanted to say. I have another from 6th grade that was reeeealy embarrassing, but this one fits my AA mood.

Mhh, years ago, there was this guy on the bus when I was on my way home from school. The stop where I get in is the beginning of the line, so it often happens the bus stands there until it's time to leave. Anyway, happened a few times that the guy - I think he was 15-17 (I was 11 - 12) - flicked my hair while I read or, once, he blew a dandelion into my face.
It must've been around the time I started wearing glasses, because I somehow seem to recall thinking he couldn't get the stupid dandelion crap into my eyes if I wore them. Dunno what happened, he kinda wasn't on the bus anymore..... in retrospect, he might've had a crush on me? But come on, I was barely entering teenager years. At that time, I despised guys.

Dunno if this was a weird encounter with same or opposite sex.... but while I was in my 5th or first 6th grade (I went back a year, then finished 6th grade in another school) there was a time where I got calls every afternoon and I had conversations with who I assumed was my desk-sharer..... classmate.... you know, the person who shares the desk with you. Cause, you know, said it was her and all. Told me all sorts of stuff, like her father/stepfather or something hitting her and/or her little brother.
A few days this happened, so I finally asked her one day if she was gonna call me this afternoon, too.
Yeah turned out it wasn't her who called at all. Probably some f*cktard of a boy in class. I was such a good victim for bullying....

I also get flirted at, I assume (I don't go out much, so I don't know when it's flirting), generally on the bus. There was also this guy at McD's and one at Subway who seemed to flirt with me, because I appeared so often. (McD was easy cause it was right next to my cosmetician school and I get hungry post-school)
There was also the time this I got groped on the escalator.

My bio lab partner escapade didn't turn out awesomely. Sure I got her number, but when I asked her to accompany me and my friends to the movies sometime this week she unfortunately had family visiting so she couldn't hang out. Oh well I did my best, and we've got school next week. With school and a job I wouldn't have any time to be able to spend time with this girl, so I suppose I will see who I meet in my classes next week. It is like, whenever I meet a guy who caught my attention, I'm doing everything just to talk to him or whatsoever. I'm just making sure that he actually looks to me and talks to me, sort of.

But one day, it failed. It's not like the guy didn't talk to me - he did another thing. But to that later. I wwasn't really paying attention, because he seemed like he doesn't want to talk to me. My social skills in a nutshell: I think the weirdest interaction was when someone sang for me, I didn't know how to react so I just walked away. I felt terrible afterwards because I could have handled the situation better but didn't want to say anything that could be misinterpreted as giving false hopes...

And also I'm pretty slow on picking up that someone is flirting with me and think 90% of the time it happens is just people wanting to chat with someone so that's not helping.

Ok, Blak wants this topic to stay alive so I'll try to breathe life into it.

*thinking of a past encounter I've had*

When I lived in California there were two Belgium exchange students who liked to tease me for some odd reason, they would chase me around the building and campus and I would do the same, sadly I suck at tag.

And when I was 15 I was forced to go on a long car ride to L.A. and I spent most of my time fighting with my mother. (Our relationship sucked back then.) My older cousin had an 18 year old friend who kept on coming in and out of the hotel room when I was doing homework and he tried to cheer me up because of my relationship with my mom and the unrequited love I had for someone else.

When I finally finished my homework I was lying on the bed and he crawled on top of me and rubbed his face against mine. And before anyone freaks out, I swear on my eyes that's as far as it went.

I actually do have had an experience about it besides waiting for the one sided crush to fade away, well sorta...

I transferred schools when two family member passed away when I was turning 12. It was a very small school with only eleven kids in my class, it was a pretty big change compared to the other religious school I went to. Unfortunately all the people in there were boys except for one girl resulting in getting teased a lot because of the new transferred girl in a group of guys label and one other girl, but she was too sensitive so they didn't try to do that to her that often. At that time I was, well, I guess you could say internally sensitive in my own way because of the loss of someone important. But because of my pride I resorted to violence instead, I remember getting in trouble with teachers often for responding to those tease by literary kicking the guy classmates around, we somehow managed to be friends nevertheless. As for the other girl...we got along well enough, I had a hard time getting along with her because she seemed too weak(yeah I know an hypocrite thought) and she hated my defensive approach to getting teased, although we were silently competing against each other on grades.

There was one guy who didn't bother to pull my legs, I got along well with him and unfortunately my feeling kinda er...changed. That's when I found out that he was childhood friends with that other girl who had similar feelings towards him...cue the secret love triangle(the class clown did have a crush on me so maybe square?).

The prideful person that I was I tried to not show my feelings at all and move on; he was childhood friend with that other girl and she would openly open up to him and wasn't afraid to say when she got mad for not spending time together, besides, she knew about him more than I did, it was obvious that it was a lost battle so why bother trying to fight it. At the same time I didn't mind staying friends with the guy, as crazy as it sounds I wanted to keep that friendship since he was a pretty good person. No matter what though I couldn't let my feelings fade-it was to be expected, it's a pretty small classroom and I see him everyday in every class-so we stayed friends but I'm not going to lie, some part of me started being irritated by it all because of that. Sometimes we had the other class visiting us and hang out(for some reason girls were endangered species in this school so only other boys visit :/).

They were curious on shipping me and her with the guys, of course I denied when they asked me with the guy I had a crush on and he replied the same, not sure if he was sincere though but some of my classmates doubted his answer since he has been talking to me more often than his childhood friend as f late. We've been stuck in this "friendship" for a while until the next year before Christmas. His mother was a nurse and got him a few pens that light up from the hospital she was working in so he was giving it away to everyone around the last week of vacation, it would light up each time you wrote which made me use it when I wasn't using my fountain pen(shush fountain pens are awesome I don't care if it's old stuff).

But when Christmas came I went on vacation to see my mother and never came back. I still have the pen he gave me, although it ran out of ink and batteries thus stored in a box for memory's sake. I remember that he really liked my drawings and sat in the corner with me on occasions to watch me draw, I do wonder from time to time what became of him and that clown boy who used to constantly try to make me hang out with him when kicking around weren't involved, I saw him more as a friend though. :shoe:

Before I scare anyone, I calmed down over the years I'm not that violent anymore ok.

I'm happy to know I wasn't the only one who had violent tendencies when she was around the same age or older. Actually, I may have had the wish to be violent, but I was never that violent as I really wanted to be - I was prone to doing arm slaps and similar, but I never did really bad stuff like.... smashing someone's face into a wall or onto a table. Boy do I wish I would have at times....

A few years before I started wearing glasses permanently.... I think I was 11 at that time? .....I always took a bus home from the bus station to my home after school. Around the same time, there was always a boy about 15-18 years old and sometimes, when we were on the bus together, he'd do things to bother me. Like blow a dandelion into my face - my main memory of him, which is why I remember that it was before I was wearing glasses, cause it really got into my eyes.
I actually told my mom about it at that time and her only response was, "It wouldn't have been so bad, if you had just worn your glasses."
Thanks mom....

Now that I'm older, I think it was one of those things where you "annoy the person you like" to get their attention or whatever.... that part never made sense to me cause, while you do get attention, it's the exact opposite of the kind of attention you want from them.

That's when I found out that he was childhood friends with that other girl who had similar feelings towards him...cue the secret love triangle(the class clown did have a crush on me so maybe square?).

The prideful person that I was I tried to not show my feelings at all and move on; he was childhood friend with that other girl and she would openly open up to him and wasn't afraid to say when she got mad for not spending time together, besides, she knew about him more than I did, it was obvious that it was a lost battle so why bother trying to fight it. At the same time I didn't mind staying friends with the guy, as crazy as it sounds I wanted to keep that friendship since he was a pretty good person. No matter what though I couldn't let my feelings fade-it was to be expected, it's a pretty small classroom and I see him everyday in every class-so we stayed friends but I'm not going to lie, some part of me started being irritated by it all because of that. Sometimes we had the other class visiting us and hang out(for some reason girls were endangered species in this school so only other boys visit :/).

They were curious on shipping me and her with the guys, of course I denied when they asked me with the guy I had a crush on and he replied the same, not sure if he was sincere though but some of my classmates doubted his answer since he has been talking to me more often than his childhood friend as f late. We've been stuck in this "friendship" for a while until the next year before Christmas. I think it's an adorably melancholic story Sorvy. Glad to see you outgrew your violent tendencies. As much as I love tsunderes, I wouldn't particularly fall for a girl that was violent a good majority of the time to protect her pride. I'm not THAT much of a masochist.
But I wouldn't mind a girl who'd punch me in the shoulder and cross her arms grumpily afterwards.

I don't think I would want to be anyone who loves me for who I am not. I wasn't this way in order to please anyone, some of the teases were turning to sexual harassment and on rare times turned racial. They wouldn't listen to the teachers when given warnings so I took the matters in my own hands. I have siblings, even if I have a big sister I felt like it was responsibility to be strong for them during this time, especially since they looked so weak at that time.

I'm not afraid to put my foot down when I am faced with no other options, I'd rather avoid it as much as I can if I can help it. :two-faced:

And no I didn't enjoy it.

I've calmed down over time, I tried to control it and hold it up inside and... I on random occasions can't control my strength. I've accidentally broken my windows and other stuff, while overkilling bugs with a slipper... :| I've scarred people at my old school before by accident when my teacher told me to move my desk but lifted it because I was too lazy(anyone can do that really, I don't know what made those girls so shocked about. :Hoboright:

). I look like a fragile powerless girl apparently...my appearance doesn't resemble to one of a buffed girl at all nor am I very tall. :hobolaugh:

I haven't broken by accident anything yet this year or last year, hopefully those accidents won't happen again and it's all in the past now. :shoe:

I'm a pretty non-violent person, and I very rarely get into fights (which leads me to believe that I WILL get my ass handed to me if I got into one) so I mainly just rely on my persuasive skills to get out of sticky situations. There was that one time in middle school where I was pantsed for no reason during P.E. They even pulled down my boxers along with the shorts. I said "Thanks" as sarcastically as I could and only the two assholes laughed at me. Everyone else had looks of "Why would you guys do that?" I was pretty relieved that nobody took their side that day. Nowadays I pretty much use numbers to my advantage and let them fight for me. As long as I can mold my personality to one that can get along with another person then I'm pretty good at dealing with others.

Much like Iori from Kokoro, I don't have a personality of my own anymore. It doesn't bother me since it's who I am.

Ever since my elementary school friend added me on Facebook he won't stop giving me internet hugs.

He's sweet and all, and I think he likes but I just don't feel the same. Especially since I didn't want to be reminded of my life in New Jersey.
