You have repeatedly stated that you don't care about being nice or polite in the past!

*deskslam*

"WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU'VE BEEN NICE OR POLITE IN THE PAST 20 YEARS?!"

Just because I am much more assertive and open about being a bitch on the internet doesn't mean I am like that offline.
Still working on that part.

@CatMuto: It's actually not even a matter of simple politeness vs. impoliteness when it comes to taking mail for your neighbors. It's very much a liability issue. If you accept a package for your neighbor, and it turns out something inside the package was damaged, good luck proving it wasn't your fault (after all, you signed for it, right?). And in the case that you leave it out on your neighbor's doorstep or in the commonly used parts of the house, and it gets taken from there? Yeah, that'll be on you as well, after you signed for the delivery.

Plenty of reason not to accept other people's packages, if you ask me.

I only am sick of it because I've been taking in packages every few days for neighbors for the last few YEARS. And only every, say, fifth time do I even get a decent 'Thank you' from them.

You'd think people wouldn't treat homeless people like criminals, just because I don't have a bed to sleep in anymore doesn't mean I'm here to steal your shit asshole.

Are you on the streets again DoMaya?

And yeah it's disappointing how many folks are outright cruel to those in need. I can't help everyone with money and it breaks my heart when the homeless ask me for it, I'd much rather buy them food than just give them a couple of coins. Reminds me of that poor homeless guy I saw last year who was unconscious in the middle of the street while everyone walked by. Then again, that's not fair...he appeared to be sleeping unless you took a closer look.

Someone give you trouble DoMaya?

People bitching about the 'period stain' skirt

Do you people have honestly NOTHING to do with your lives!? Are you so fucking bored that you had to go look up pointless shit to complain about!? Who is so stupid as to think this looks like a period stain? Remotely? I've been having my period for almost 15 years now and I honestly cannot remember a time, where my period blood was fucking purple. Pretty sure I would have gone to my gyno and asked WTF was going on, had it occured.

Besides, the print is on the SIDE of the skirt. I do not recall period blood dripping out of my right THIGH. Or my left one, for that matter.

These people need to get laid. Or stare at a wall. At least that won't cause any problems. :ron:

Gotta agree with you there. People complain about the stupidest things.

Case in point, the Starbucks Red Holiday cup last year. People were up in arms because they thought it was part of the war on "CHRISTmas." Never mind the fact that the previous holiday cups were adorned with clearly religious symbols like snowflakes, polar bears, and Santa Claus, the new plain red cup is somehow a statement against Christianity, and is promoting atheism, or some such nonsense.

Seriously, the worst crime the red cup was guilty of was looking boring compared to the previous cups. Now, if the old holiday cups were decorated with Nativity scenes, "Glory to God in the highest," or something more clearly Christian in nature, then the complaint would have a leg to stand on and I would have joined in on the complaint, but they weren't, so it doesn't, and I didn't.

Honestly, I just wish people would find better things to do with their time than get offended by things that make absolutely no difference in the long run.

Absolutely. I know people think that, since I am unemployed and spend my free time playing games, writing stories or drawing, that I have nothing good to do with my time. I think I am, at the very least, using my time creatively, compared to people like THAT, complaining about stupid stuff, just for the sake of complaining. It's like they get off on complaining, even if someone asks the right question of, "Why does this matter so freaking much?"

I agree with you on the cups. I don't go to starbucks (I don't drink coffee much, I mostly get a frapée from McD on a rare occassion) but I found that complaint dumb. It was red, which is one of the colors associated with Christmas, anyway. If it did say "God be with you" and all that, I would complain. I don't shove my lack of religion down other people's faces, I appreciate it if they don't do the same with me. (I don't even like it when someone says God bless you to me as some form of thank you...) As it is, I liked seeing the funny part of the internet mocking this and decorating the cups. Like with Satan symbols.

Or even people who complain that I don't say "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays"... in October. Excuse me, I am not gonna start that crap two months early. You get either of those in December, when we DO have a lot of holidays in short succession. And if you bug me about which one to say, I'll just NOT say anything next time.

Idiot Man complains about the word diabetes on his receipt to the internet
Look, pal.
1) It's a joke!
2) Learn to laugh about it!

Yes, diabetes is an illness. But it's not as bad as, say, terminal cancer! You really need to learn to laugh about things; which includes yourself (and if you can't, you are a dangerous, dangerous person I do not want to encounter) and your family. My family includes autism in several people and my youngest uncle is bipolar. We make jokes about it, because hey... why not? Even when we get sick or injured (like my mother, when half her face froze cause of bell's palsy), we make jokes about it and laugh.

PS: Dear refugees, you are still trying to wait for the balkan route to open again? After it's been closed for almost TWO months AND you were repeatedly told it will NOT reopen? You wanna still storm it? And then complain that your violent attempt at infiltrating a country illegally resulted in you getting tear gas thrown at you? Stop fucking complaining. At least they didn't shoot you, which is what I would have done by now. (Not AT you, note. Just in your general vicinity to say "Yes, I CAN shoot you")

I'd actually considered posting something about that, but never got around to it.

The whole "sticks and stones" thing is baloney, but if it's the barista's doing, I'm sure (s)he didn't mean anything by it. If it's your friend's doing (which I highly suspect it was, given that the receipt is consistent with the mobile ordering receipt), it's him/her you need to complain to, not Starbucks.

I don't know if people are aware of this, but being offended by something is a choice. Getting your feelings hurt may not be a choice, but you're the one who chooses how far it'll go. If the person who'd ordered the coffee didn't like the diabetes joke, he could have just ignored it, believing the barista, ever so ignorant of the person's situation, wasn't trying to be hurtful. Or, he could choose to take offense at it, and turn the whole thing into a media circus.

It's like those people who complain that their receipt's identifier refers to their skin color. The wait staff is simply trying to remember what order goes with what table in the easiest way possible. If you're the only <insert skin color here> person in the room, believe it or not, that's going to be the easiest way for the wait staff to identify you. They are usually NOT intending anything racist by it. But no, you have to make a big deal about it, turning it all into a media circus. Believe me, the only mistake the restaurant staff made in this situation is putting the table identifier on the customer copy of the receipt.

Heck, I find it WORSE when those people say that they "don't want to make a fuss" when posting it on facebook/twitter/social media/internet. You are posting it on the INTERNET, you idiot! By doing so, you are making a big deal out of it. Someone recently did that, they said that they didn't want to make a big deal when something happened - I think it was someone being referred to as black by skincolor, which they were - and tell the manager.

So they decide to post on the internet. WRONG! If they honestly did not want to make a huge stink about this, they WOULD have gone to the manager and said, "Hey, can we talk about this, maybe? Feels kinda uncomfortable". Nobody but them and the manager, and the employee, would know about this. It would be handled internally, without telling the overreacting idiots on the internet, who blow shit out of proportions.

I mean, if someone calls me white... fine. Whatever. Someone makes fun of my clothes or voice? Yeah, ignore it. I don't go much for fashion and my voice is not really something I can easily alter. Besides, I kinda grew fond of my voice, even if it's kinda deep. Insult my intelligence and treat me like I'm stupid? ...that's probably where I'd begin to blow a gasket. Because I am not stupid. But depending on when and where it happened, I might just let it go at the time and only vent later. (Or, if it's in a store, complain to higher ups - though I would also check if my own behavior was bitchy.)

As you say, people choose what to be upset about. Unfortunately, they choose to do that with stuff that honestly doesn't matter. Like that Gap Kids ad recently. I saw nothing offensive or racist, but other people got their panties in a twist.

Seeing you complain about people complaining because their complaints are not important to you seems a mite hypocritical.

I'm grateful that we've got free physical health care where I live, but I really wish people could see just how important mental health care is as well. Because for some reason mental health issues aren't considered nearly as urgent and damaging as physical health problems, and so seeing a therapist for it costs way more than it should because who cares about mental health.
I... feel foolish.

So I got sacked from my job today. They told us it was coming but when they said who out of the people in the room were going well... the people who constantly sit around doing nothing but bum licking the boss or pretending to do work and know what they're talking about are the only ones who stayed.

They let us say goodbye and then literally stalked us out of the place to make sure we didn't damage anything. They even gave some people black bin bags to put the stuff that was in their locker in otherwise it would be thrown away anyway. I wouldn't have minded if they'd have said "don't come back on Monday" but it was the fact that they just shoved us out at 11am. Why not ring up in the morning so I didn't bother coming in for nothing. I suppose I'm getting 2 weeks pay as compensation but... the way you treat people is something that will leave a lasting scar. Some poor guy who got sacked today, it was his birthday as well! Stuff happens, I guess. Gotta get over it and move on. :apollo:

Thanks! I agree. Getting herded out like cattle to the slaughter is what it felt like! xD The agency we were with is giving us 2 weeks pay and going to look for another job for us but I don't have a car yet (driving test is in June, gulp!) so it's really hard for me to get anywhere living pretty much in the countryside! It was just a factory job, we made sensors for airplanes and cars and such. It was boring but wasn't too bad pay wise. Not what I wanted to do forever but didn't want to leave this early either. :( :udgey:

Bad to hear, though the guy with the birthday shouldn't be too bummed out about it occuring on that day. Worse things could happen, though losing a job is bad enough. If you honestly feel like it was disgusting and horrible how they herded you out the door, go ahead and see if you can get corporate's or some higher up's contact information. Sure, it might not leave a good impression of you on that specific company, but they aren't leaving a good one on you. And you have a good reason to complain.

Have another little vent that I need to get off of my chest. I like drawing sure, and I'm not great. But someone I used to go to school with is infuriating me on Facebook. I'm not talking to her directly or anything but she got a tablet recently and has been posting her art and complaining that she's not getting any likes. She then goes on to post that someone she knew as a kid had been insulting her art when she started out and that she should look at her art now it has improved and wish she never bullied her.

But recently she's been posting that people who draw anime "can't draw" and don't know how to do anatomy. And that she hates people who are new to drawing who draw something rubbish and then get lots of likes or comments on facebook. I've unfollowed her and am thinking of unfriending her but I just feel that this is such an insult to anyone who is just learning how to draw and is receiving praise when this girl gets jealous and decides to lash out. One bad comment is definitely enough to put an artist off of drawing for a while and I just don't think it's right. Why do people feel the need to be so jealous, it's probably more of a case of how many friends she has rather than how good her art is.

Sigh... :sadshoe:

I would say, 'compensating for a small penis' but since it's a girl... yeah, still compensating. She sounds like she demands attention for doing something that, frankly, is not all that big. I look at art that is much better than my stuff and sometimes I comment. Other times, I don't. Besides, a lot of likes does not immediate mean someone's art is GOOD in terms of quality.

Go ahead and unfriend her. She sounds like a bitch who would be causing a lot more headaches than she's worth. (read: not at all worth even one headache)

Though I disagree that one comment is enough to break a person. It's more than one comment too many causes the back to break.

If you think she'll listen to reason, you might consider (tactfully) pointing out the hypocrisy in posting negative comments about someone else's early artwork when she herself didn't like it when people did that to her when she first started out. If she doesn't listen, then I'd definitely unfriend her.

I need to vent about something in Fatal Frame II.
The goddamn KIRYU HOUSE!

No, it has nothing to do with the Kiryu Twins being scary. They are not. They are not cute, but they are also not scary at all. Or even creepy. My main issue with this place was, as I was going through with it, the LAYOUT of the house. It sucks. Detours everywhere and twisty-turny, long hallways. Who the hell would build such a house and enjoy living in it? The battles against the Kiryu Twins are okay... except the second one in the doll room. And only because they are obnoxious and the area is small.

Then there's the battle with Daddy Dollmaker. I HATE THAT GUY! Stop chucking your damn dolls into my face, you fucking creep! What sane parent decides to create a life-sized doll that looks like their deceased kid to appease their other kid? And thinks it's a good idea? Oh, sure, what the ceremony did to his family isn't pretty. I totally agree. But, uh... did you ever think of LEAVING the village? Before the ceremony would potentially be done with your daughters chosen? Could've avoided everything.

She's more of the.... instantly becomes a volcano at the slightest suggestion that she may have done/said something that may offend/hurt others. I think I'd be lucky to come out alive if I said anything in person. I'm going to take your advice and get rid of her. Just not worth the trouble I think. Ironically before I deleted her she posted saying that she lost her tablet pen and you can't get a replacement for that model. Karma maybe? :apollo:

I need to vent about a few things I have seen on the news repeatedly lately...

The April weather in Germany.
Yes, it's snowing sometimes. Are you people fucking high or do you live in Hawaii the other 11 months of the year? This is quite NORMAL weather for Germany, especially in April! In fact, I'm pretty sure you were complaining about this crap LAST YEAR, too, because the same damn thing happened. Or do you just FORGET what happened 12 months ago?

The 'Smombies' (people who cannot keep their fucking face away from their stupid smartphone).
Ignoring how stupid I think they are, people are now creating some extra traffic lights located on the ground of the street, so that any person looking at their smartphone like the soon-to-be-Darwin-Aware-Winner that they are, know to NOT FUCKING CROSS THE STREET RIGHT NOW.
Excuse me, why are you wasting money on these people? These people are, frankly, too fucking STUPID to pay even an iota of attention to regular street signage. Regardless of whatever they're looking on their stupid phone at. These people have no proper survival instinct. Clearly, they aren't MEANT to survive. Frankly, if I see one of these people getting hit by a car, my Sympathy Level will be at 0 and you will get a snarky comment of, "Should've put your fucking phone away", free of charge. I'm not gonna babysit you people and neither should the government. Old enough to have a smartphone? Old enough to make sure it won't be a part of your CoD.

Yeah, I sometimes text while walking. On the sidewalk. If I even remotely approach a street (whether it has a streetlight, a pedestrian walk across it or nothing) I put my phone away and don't touch it again, until I have crossed the street. (Then again, I also am not glued to it all the time.) I'm not stupid. Or suicidal. I know to keep my head in the game when I am walking outside. Heck, I wouldn't even let myself READ an SMS if I am walking up or down stairs. Potential to be distracted and miss a step and fall.

Also, a kid was gonna shoot a gun at his school's prom somewhere in America.
A policeman apparently shot him fatally, after the kid 'only' managed to injure two students. And apparently, kid did it cause his ex-GF was there with someone else. One, insert my typical rant about how guns should not be made accessible (not even to people who hunt as a sport or anything like that). Two, LEARN TO FUCKING DEAL WITH DISAPPOINTMENT DECENTLY! Oh, wait. Doesn't matter anymore. Kid's dead. Once again, no real sympathy on my side.

A 2-year old shot his mother through the back in a car with her boyfriend's gun.

Does anyone seem to think that would be, you know, a good fucking reason to make sure guns are not that easy to put into places where kids get to them? Especially considering a 4-year old shot his mom in a similar situation about a month ago? No. What should be done? 'Introduce the kids to guns early'.

ARE YOU FUCKING HIGH!? It doesn't WORK. Trust me on this. This gun-dealer said when the kid is at 'the right age' - hey, asshole. What IS the right age to teach a kid "don't touch this, it hurts"? No answer. Yeah, that's what I thought. It's supposed to be done, so that guns aren't 'fascinating' to kids as they grow older.

DIPSHIT, THE KID DIDN'T GRAB THE GUN CAUSE IT WAS FASCINATED BY IT! It's fucking TWO. YEARS. OLD. It wasn't fascinated by the gun, it was a 2 year old kid, in a car (apparently NOT with its seatbelt on - Great Mom there), probably BORED and saw something to grab and fondle and push and pull, because THAT'S WHAT KIDS FUCKING DO! And introducing kids to guns? Going back to what the 'right' age is, do you HONESTLY think that will work?

I repeat, TWO YEAR OLD. That kid is INCAPABLE of learning something at that age! For one, your brain isn't evolved enough to really process things, you're already busy enough learning to talk and walk better and you pretty sure don't remember things up until you're at least 4 or 5 years old, anyway. So even IF you were to do this, it would not work. It just CAN'T work. PERIOD.

Mom: "Here I am, helping your brother out with 500$ (again)"

Excuse me? Why don't you tell him No? Considering you seem to have no problem telling ME "No" when I want money, why can't you do it with him!? Frankly, only reason I haven't asked for money is because I am honestly TOO TERRIFIED of asking! If I do, for all I know, I am gonna get an ear-full of "Well, get a job" and "Of course not!" and getting nagged and yelled at.

All I want is 50€, so I can get a game for myself and have fun, but HE gets HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS with a simple question? HE has a job! HE is living on his own, with his (second) wife! In America! HE gets money by asking, but I am the one getting nagged at, if I DARE to ask?!

HOW IS THAT REMOTELY FAIR!? :acro:

Really wish my husband would stop whining at me so much. It makes him come across as clingy - and he knows I do not like clinginess.

And now we had a minor fight. Urgh, this is exactly why I try to not respond to his whining...

Man if your wife doesn't even want to listen to your woes when you're feeling down then I pity him.

I also feel this is a bit of pot-kettle-black.

You take the opportunity to vent and grind gears all the time.

Yeah. I vent, then I leave it. I don't bring it up several days in a row and WHINE.
That's the difference. Venting =/= whining.

If he wants to vent about something (work, life, whatever) to me, he can do so.
But not if he tells me stuff and then COUNTS THE TIME IT TAKES ME TO RESPOND. Does that sound like venting or whining to you?
Besides, venting. Venting does not require an answer or any kind of respond, you are just getting it out of you.

Have you made that clear to him? Because that's been one of the most subjective and debated definitions of venting HERE.

Spoiler: delirious shitposting
I have high blood pressure.
I have had less than 10 hours sleep in the past 120 hours.
My legs have swollen, a lot.
I'm stressed out about being homeless.
I work for a good warehouse company in building and lumber.
I constantly move the heaviest objects in the store (up to 90 lbs)
My diet is horrible, but I can't make anything healthy.
I can barely walk after my shift.
I ache all over.
I'm currently near a lot of crazy and tweaker hobos.
Just got a new bike.
My legs ache too much to ride it.

I hope a tweaker puts me out of my misery.

I feel it's my duty to care about politics, learn what I can about the issues and where the candidates and parties stand, and vote according to what I believe is best for my country--though the world as a whole also factors into the equation if I feel some elements advocate policies that are detrimental to the world's well-being. Why am I posting this in the Vent Station? Because I hate how stressed I'm getting over the election! The general election isn't for another six months (minus a week or so) and I'm already immensely worried about what could happen if the people I oppose win and are in a position to actually do the things I so very much don't want them to do.

Why is my mom so pissed when I mock how, in a book, people refuse to partake in a sport because of something? She says I'm putting it down cause I don't 'understand' how important the sport is. Well, I admit. I don't! Especially not if it's a fucking SCHOOL sport! Who cares what the SPORT in your school is like? Much more important is the quality of the overall education, how the student body is working and the qualification of teachers. What does it MATTER if the fucking SPORT is being partaken in?

So what if some black players refuse to play in the next game because they want to make a political statement? For one, don't put politics into sports. For another, what, will your lack of participation ACTUALLY make the book-Texas decide to remove capital punishment? Can someone please EXPLAIN this to me?!

Repeatedly, people YELL at me and NAG at me, because I don't 'understand' something, but nobody chooses to EXPLAIN. WHY is this sport so fucking important? Ditto school spirit? What does school matter to someone after graduation?! You spend less than 10% of your life in school (in general. going to medical school or similar takes more time) and there's a high chance you won't meet the people there anymore or even be super remembered by the teachers.

EXPLAIN! I NEED WORDS TO HAVE THINGS EXPLAINED! Not just, "You don't get it" and leave it at that! How am I supposed to learn when nobody EXPLAINS!?

I'm having a bit of a crappy day.

Work stress is driving me up the wall and Virgin Media are incompetent fools: charging me for things which don't exist.

I have Uni exams coming up later this week, and I am not in the least bit prepared for them. I can't resit the year because I just know that it will drive me into a fit of depression (which I don't need again.)

The only thing which is maintaining my sanity is the idea that I may one day be able to contribute to society or the world in a positive way, but with my work being average at best and my creative writing ideas shrivelling to nothing, I just feel as though I have nothing more to offer.

Needless to say, it is driving me insane. Does anyone have any comedy podcasts which I can listen to or just something to recommend? Just something which can lift my spirits a bit which isn't in bottle-form.

I need something uplifting.

(I feel bad just posting a post with no resolution or purpose, but I needed a bit of a vent... And the stage was provided. Thank you, Court Records.)

Eh...Undertale is a pretty uplifting game I found.
That or when I needed uplifting after my Grandpa died I watched a bunch of Still Game (Scottish Comedy show about two pensioners) and it cheered me up. So yeah I recommend comedy.

Since I can't whine on FB without someone IRL catching on, might as well post here so I can get the full story off my chest.

Spoiler: SCHOOL SHIT
I don't even know where to start. :(

Pharma raw scores came out today. I barely passed, and there will be a transmutation of scores later on, so I don't have to worry about so much. I am thankful, of course, but I feel so gutted. The exam wasn't as difficult as last shift's, where in I guessed most of my way through the last page. But I got the same score for both exams. I thought I'd get better this time. I studied so hard, yet nooooo.

Most of my classmates got better scores this time around. I'm double gutted.

Was my effort not enough? I really tried hard, and I thought I had it this time. It's like no matter what I do, or how hard I try, I'll only get barely passing. No matter how easy I thought the exam was, and then it turns out I'm wrong all along. Like, where the hell did I even go wrong? I could rationalize why my answers were so. I checked and rechecked. I was very sure.

Guess I'm wrong, after all.

Multiplies post by two, replace the word Pharma with Patho.

It seems like my grades are lower now that I'm no longer an academic scholar, compared to when I was in first year. I can't understand. Consciously, I know I'm trying just as hard, but it doesn't work at all. I honestly don't know anymore. What must I change? Should I study for third year right after the last day of finals, then all through summer break? Is that the only way to get passable grades in med?

Of course I lie to my parents. I say I'm doing well. It's the only way I can get them off my case. Their bitching makes everything worse. I don't want their nosy asses in my school life and in my grades.

Not even on Facebook. My siblings and cousins are on there. They'll tell my parents. I can't have that.

Right now I'm crying as I type in all my feelings and academic heartbreak into this post, where nobody knows me. Because after this hour if free public wifi is up, I won't have all this freedom and honesty to bare myself anymore. I'll have to smile and lie through my teeth again when I get home.

I hope the final exams are better than this. I hope they'll curve the grades and lower the passing mark. I hope my grades will be pulled up. I hope I pass.

I hope this won't happen again next year.
