You don't need to use both first and last names together. Don't want any personal info being put out when you don't want to. I'm mostly wondering about first names.

ANYWAY. Were you named after something? A person? Place? Anything?
Time to find out the silly name origins of your fellow members!

I was named after the song Rhiannon, by Fleetwood Mac. My dad and his friend were back in highschool, when they made a bet. 'First one to have a baby girl gets to name her that.' Guess my dad won. Yet, he changed the name to make it unique. It's spelled with 'an' at the end instead of 'on'. Now whenever that song plays, my parents say, 'your songs on the radio!' It's weird, cause that song's lyrics are quite similar to describing myself...

I have no idea as to the why of my name.

Despite everyone trying to say my name in Spanish, the first name was my mother's doing. She wanted to insure that people would definitely mess with me the entire time I grow up. A lot of relationships have been shut down because of it and I guess that was okay. :lana:

My middle name was my grandmother's idea. It means "light bringer" according to the religious nuts around here.

Now read that again.

Draw whatever conclusion you want from that.

It's worth noting that I never used my first name. It shows up on legal documents, badges and ID checks but that's all I use it for.

All the men in my father's family were either called Heinrich, Wilhem or Christian. My dad's name was Heinrich Christian Wilhem, his one brother's Wilhelm Heinrich Christian and so on. You get the idea. Anyway, I was a girl. So I'm Christina, not Christian. My second name is Vera (My mother's mother's name) and my third name is Marie (My father's mother's name). Yes, I have three first names. D:

No. My aunt came up with my first name after my mother and father couldn't decide. My father wanted to name me after our neighbours dog and my mother was against that. You don't even have to guess that my dad didn't want to support my mom's ideas after being denied...

My second name... I have no idea. I know that it originally comes from one of the people who wrote the gospel's(?) in the New Testament, but I have no idea if my parents were really thinking about that.

So, if my father could have named me, I would have been named after a dog and one of the gospel people. Nice. -_-"

I was named Emma for my great grandmother on my father's side, whom he loved very dearly and had fond memories of amidst a not-so-great childhood. I was given the middle name Jane after my mother's middle name, which was also her mother's middle name, which I think was also her mother's middle name... It's a family tradition. My niece was also given that middle name, my adorable Vanessa Jane~

My ex had an interesting naming tradition in his family: The first name of the father always becomes the middle name of the son. Which means that if you name your son Randal (as my ex's grandfather did), both your son AND your grandson will hate you! XD

No, however my siblings and I have names that are quite unintentional. I have a younger brother and sister, and from oldest to youngest, the first initial in our first name follows A, B, and C. Basically, I'm A, my sis is B, and my youngest sibling is C.

I don't really like my name, because it means "gentle" and because of that, my mom always told me to be that way.

David- First name.

No real meaning behind my name, but a funny story. My dad stole this name from my aunt when she was having a child. The child would be named David if it was a boy, and Cindy if it was a girl. It was a girl, and my dad named me David.

My name is Jessica, and I think I was named after like a great great grandmother or something. I don't know. My parents told me once when I was like 10 but I forgot and never bothered to ask again.

All this time, I was hoping I was named after the song Jessica by the Allman Brothers band... haha that would have been so awesome. I love that song.

I also share the name of a song by Dir en Grey, but unfortunately, there's no chance my parents would have known about it and I do believe the song was written after I was born. Actually, I'm 100% positive.
