If the door was closed, the room would have been airtight, thus effectively cutting off any source of oxygen. So the others died in closed rooms, while he had air. Unless it's like an old fashioned 'prison bar' cell which would totally let oxygen in. It's a lateral thinking puzzle, meaning you can assume all sorts of stuff as long as it doesn't contradict what's been stated. (I really don't like lateral thinking puzzles. It's not about finding the solution; there are tons, and it's just about finding the specific one the person asking the riddle is thinking of >_>) Yeah when I saw that first one I thought "Man thats a riddle that just makes me want to hold him down and punch him in the face till he admits he's a stupid idiot for thinking up riddles with infinite possibilities but he only wants one" They aren't riddles in my eyes, riddles should have a stricter structure with a definite answer albeit a hard to find one. Point A leads to point B which leads to Point C except B is hidden and you need to think about it. Those lateral thinking ones are like Point A to Point Z to point Pi to Point Infinite to point ?. |

Here's another easy lateral thinking puzzle: A thousand feet up in the air, I lie with my back on the ground. What am I? Oh, and not all lateral thinking puzzles have many answers. The main idea of a lateral thinking puzzle is that not all of the information in a given situation is stated, so you have to try different approaches until you find the most logical answer which fits all of the given information. |

Except maybe a helicopter flying upside-down... ('cause they can do that. I think...) |

Hmmm...I think we need a PW related riddle. Maya had just finished eating hamburgers at the hamburger joint. Phoenix was worried. He asked her: "Um...Maya...how many burgers have you had just now!?" "The amount of letters in your name, Nick. Minus the number of letters in mine, then multiplied by the number of letters in pearlys name." She said, finsihing off yet another burger. How many burgers has Maya eaten? (we're counting last names) Also, find the animal in a sentence: (E.G: Like this: 'I got a maC AT pc world today.') 'He's a fine old chap and a genourous man too.' |

Here, have a new riddle, folks: Okay, so I gonna post a "Blackstory" now (people from Germany might know these stories already). Blackstories are usually about a murder and such (some stories are pretty freaky and weird, so try to think outside the box). Your job is to find out what happened e.g. how the person was killed or if it was an accident. You are only allowed to ask yes/no questions and to post your theories. Please, no irrelevant questions, e.g. "Was the victim any good-looking?". Anyway, enjoy! (: So, here the first story: "Romeo and Juliet lie dead on the floor near an open window. Shards of glass are lying on the wet floor. What happened?" |

Ok I'm going to stop with the lateral thinking puzzles and give people riddles now (trust me, they will be riddles) I am as destructive as life, as healing as death, an institutioner of strife, just as prone to bless, I am all that is good, yet with an evil trend, I am the beginning of things and also the end. What am I? I am sometimes white and other times black. I take you there but I never bring you back. What am I? When is a door not a door? |

I thought the third one (about the door) was pretty popular already. Turns out I was wrong. The second one....a die? As in singular of dice. I'm not so sure about the first one....time? Well, while I ponder those, here's a new riddle: More powerful than God, more evil than the Devil, and when you eat it, you die. What is it? |
Author: | Romeo [ Mon Nov 16, 2009 4:29 pm ] |
Post subject: | Re: Riddles, puzzles and other general tricks |
@ Angel Nothing. Yeah, I heard that one ages ago, but it still catches people all the time. NOTHING is more powerful than god. NOTHING is more evil than the devil. If you eat NOTHING, you will die. Heres a lot more. 1) Round as an apple, light as a feather but 1000 strong men couldn't hold it together. What is it? 2) What force and strength cannot get through, I with a gentle touch can do, And many in the street would stand, If I weren't there to give a hand. 3) (I'm sure youv'e heard this one...) As I was going to st. Ives, I met a man with 7 wives. Each wife had seven sacks, Each sack had seven cats, Each cat had seven kittens, Kits, cats, sacks and wifes, How many were going to st Ives? 4) Black we are, and much admired, Men seek for us if they are tired. We Tire the horse, but warm up man, Tell me this riddle, if you can. |

Number one is apparently a bubble, because it's round, it's actually lighter than a feather but it will break if a person touches it. |
