Gallopingchickens wrote: I hate, when someone from my country uses English words like "Co jadłaś na lunch?" (What have you eaten for lunch?) There's beautiful word "obiad", which they could use but no, why >:C. I really like English, I use it almost every day on the internet but you see, it's just stupid: mostly these people don't speak English, they only know few words which they can put into Polish. Huh, that pretty much sums up my feelings on catgirls who use random Japanese. It's like, your appreciation for the language is noted, but STFU, you're not impressing anybody. Just like that annoying traveler from the Professor Layton series who can't seem to decide on which language he wants to randomly use. Every time he drops a "s'il vous plaît" right after a "buenos días" or some other Spanish phrase, it just makes me want to punch him. |

I HATE when teachers say "No ifs, ands, or buts..." Maybe if you explained yourself properly and didn't leave certain elements to the student's own interpretation, they wouldn't be asking you any questions! |

"Be more better next time.." ~ When I got a test back with a really mad note, then my mum says it. Everytime. And I could flipping out at this sentence. I swear it. "Please. Pleeeeeeease. Cleeeeeeeeaning yooooooour rooooooom!" ~ Sucks. My dad says it often, but my mom says it often more. I think, I'm in hell. "Play with me, dude?" ~ A little kid said it to me last week. Hey, I'm not a dude, so go playing with other children. I mean, I'm a teenager. Sorry, but it's so. ... HATE-SENTENCE-EVER: "Can you make your homework?" ~ I hate school, but I know, it's for learning things. Whew. Really mad. D: And also.. My BF loves Justin Bieber. Really. So I hate this sentence officially. "Oh my god, he is so cute and so lovely and he can sing so awesome and -OHMYGOD- he is sooooooo cute and cute and cute..." ~ Bah. No comment. Spoiler: But what would she say about this? o.O |

"Calm down!" is pretty much the worst thing you can tell to an awfully pissed off or angry person. Seriously, instead of calming you down it pretty much does the opposite... at least in my case. Another saying which is pretty overused is "Are you okay? / Are you hurt? / Are you alright? " etc. Those sayings are so often used in so many bad soap operas. Here an example: A guy gets hit by a car. People run towards him and the first thing they ask is: "Are you hurt???" He was just hit by a car! Of course he's hurt you bunch of idiots. [rant] There's nothing more annoying than being asked about things which are bloody obvious..... and I'm not talking about rhetorical questions. I'm talking about normal, dumb questions from people who obviously love to hear themselves talk or who just never pay attention to anything. [/rant] |

The recent YouTube trend about the amount of dislikers on whatever video. I mean, YouTube comments were stupid enough already! "Life is what you make of it" - this might be true, but it's very depressing. It's supposed to cheer you up, but it just makes me feel bad. A saying that's a bit hard to translate into English - "one time is zero times, two times are one time too much". ... It just bothers me. |

"Epic" Most overused and abused word in the English language. You're not cool by using it. GET A DICTIONARY!! "Be happy with what you have" So if you have nothing, you're to be happy with nothing? I can think of some more, but I don't want my blood pressure to rise. |

-"I ain't done nothing!" or other sentences that improperly use double-negatives irk me. Also, some kids at my school frequently say "Oh yeah, I seen that!" -Ok, seriously, it's either "I saw that" or "I've seen that". Saying "I seen that" makes you sound illiterate. -Furthermore, "legitly" is not a word. "Legitimately" is a word, heck, even "Legit" is considered a word in english dictionaries, but "legitly" is not a word, nor should it ever be considered one. -And finally, "magnanimous" is not a valid substitution for "glorious" or "epic" in the ways which they are used today. The meaning of "magnanimous" is not applicable, it means something quite different. /minirant. |

Gnarly, bro! It's ironic how I started saying this in September, and by the end of the year everyone I know says it and the popular asshats say they started it. Along with other old slang I brought from the grave. And filipino, pull out a Pikachu edition Gameboy Color, Pokemon Yellow/Red/Blue/Green, and be all like, "LEARN POKEMON" That'll teach them how to pronounce words. At least, that's how I learned some words. |

"Kawai desu desu." That one is very annoying. Every time I hear it I want to scream "THIS ISN'T JAPAN!", "NOBODY CAN UNDERSTAND YOU!" or "SPEAK ENGLISH!". And: "How is school going?" All of my older relatives ask me that when I see them. For me, school is pretty bad, but I always have to say "It's going great." or they'll reply with yet another annoying phrase: "Look on the bright side." What bright side!?!? |

I'm mildly annoyed by it, but I wouldn't say I hate it. What I do hate is when people say something completely undistinguishable and then, when you ask them to repeat it, only repeat one word out of the whole sentence. My parents are especially good at this. They will talk to you while facing the other way and all you can make out is "mumble mumble watermelon". Me: "Come again?" Parent: "Watermelon." Me: "What about it?" And only then will they repeat the whole sentence. They do this every. single. time! (And not just them.) I also hate: -People telling me to smile (I will smile whenever I choose to, thank you very much) -"Kids these days" (because seriously, people, it's been said for centuries and it's getting old.) -"Because we've always done it this way" (usually said when there are no actual arguments for doing it this way) -And finally, I don't know if it has an English equivalent, but it literally translates into "I only believe what I see with my own eyes". I HATE this saying! I don't care what people do or don't believe in, but don't make up arguments as silly as this! There are tons of things that can't directly be seen that these very same people still believe in (e.g. air, the wind, temperature, pain, etc), and a million of other things that could technically be seen, but they likely never saw them (e.g. the bottom of the ocean, the human brain, the north pole, the plague...). It just drives me nuts! |

No, I'm just smarter than you, beeyotches. No, good Lord, no, I am not a kiss up. Teachers just like me better because I don't get on their nerves, like you do. "You're so emo!" Post subject: | Re: Overused sayings you hate |
My, my. There are so many I don't even know where to begin. I know some of these have probably been posted, it probably means we just have shared hates. 1. "I could care less" It makes the person look incredibly stupid when it's said this way. 2. "Calm yo tits" I'm fucking serious, it pisses me off so much when people say that when you're really angry. 3. "Be patient"** This one's a little different. Yes, be patient. Patience is good. But sometimes, when you're in a rush and are annoyed by some external factor, you just want to rant, curse, and bitch as you wait. 4. "In this time of recession..." Or anything that uses the 'recession' as an excuse, really. Talking about the recession and is effects is okay, but here's an example of when it's stupid:[ person 1: here, have these shoes/soup/piece of string. For free. person 2: No thanks, I really don't like Pumas/Cabbage/Purple. person 1: WELL WE'RE IN A RECESSION. :| SO YOU BETTER BE DAMN THANKFUL YOU HAVE ANYTHING AT ALL.] Yes, I know to appreciate, but if something gets rejected, the recession has been taken into account and has been deemed irrelevant. 5. Any ego-lowering phrase at the wrong time, directly to that person. Examples would be like "don't you think you're being a tad bit cocky?", "get off your high horse", "get over yourself", and my all time favourite, "you're so conceited". We all understand not to be too self-centered if we can help it, but seriously, everyone will eventually have a time where they hold their head up high or whatever, and just let them be. 6. "PMSing" This is just...no. 7. "mmmk"/"mhmm" In real life, I'm guilty of occasionally doing that, but only the latter to show that I'm listening. But when you're trying to be serious and people reply "mhmm", especially online or something, it just makes me want to slap them. You're talking about a serious issue and when they use that reply, it makes you feel like you're talking to a brick. Also, "k." is similar to this as well. You tell them about something that means a lot to you, and again, it feels like you might as well just talk to a fucking brick. 8. Stupid, stupid youtube comments about the amount of dislikes, how someone shouldn't watch the video if they dislike it, justin bieber on random videos, how if they get enough likes they'll sing the song in a monkey suit or whatever, asking to 'thumbs up' the post if you agree, ____ singer made a parody of ___ song on a cover video...the list goes on. 9. "h0ar" this one may be because someone I strongly disliked did it, but it still bothers me now. 10. "Are you okay" when you're obviously not. Followed up by "You need to talk about it to let it out". Who the fuck are you, my psychiatrist? Sorry, that was blunt, but when you're crying or obviously really hurt (physically or mentally), and you hide yourself away because you don't want to be bothered, people always deliberately come to search for you just to say that phrase. Then you tell them to leave you alone and that you don't want to talk about it, it all of a sudden want to be your diary so they can bring in a juicy discussion to the other people waiting around you. 11. It's not really a 'saying' but rather a situation. When someone asks if you're good at something and you are, but can't say you are because you'd come off as conceited. You also can't say you're bad at it because then they'll think you just want compliments. Saying you're "decent" is apparently bragging, in most situations I've encountered. 12. "It's a yes or no question" Damn phrase needs to be erased from society. Sometimes you just want clarification, or about certain circumstances, but no, you can't. You can't fucking ask because apparently, the only acceptable answer is 'yes' or 'no'. 13. "It's not THAT funny" This only bothers me when it forces me to stop laughing. If it's funny, just let me laugh. even if it seems like a stupid joke, it's hard to only laugh at jokes that make you look cool. There's a lot more, but it's 11:48 and I should start my homework. Also, I'm guilty of so many of these, sorry if I came off as a bitch LOL most of it was for fun, anyway, it felt good to have it typed out |

december wrote: how someone shouldn't watch the video if they dislike it That reminds me... you know how, when you criticize something negatively, some people will almost always tell you "don't like it - don't watch/read/listen to it", but when you criticize something negatively without consuming it regularly, the same people will tell you "don't criticize stuff without watching/reading/listening to it first"? I hate that! Or another example: "If it's so bad, let's see you doing it better!" I don't have to be a chef to be able to criticize when the food I've been served is burnt/oversalted/rancid! Neither do I have to be a movie director to be able to tell a good movie from a bad one. |

"That's what she said" - Okay, sometimes it's funny, I admit, but most of the time it's freaking annoying, not fitting and overused. I like to think I can have a serious conversation with someone without them saying "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID HERP DERP HAHAHA" at every second sentence. Though, I am guilty of saying it when something really funny comes along. |
