Okay like, this is annoying as hell. My sound won't work on my computer. I know "no1 cares". But I don't know who else to ask.
Like someone said I had to reinstall the drivers and I tried but it wouldn't work. I plugged in my speakers. they don't work. Like whne this computer was still XP the sound worked perfectly. And when I upgraded to Vista, I couldn't get the sound to work. I tried head phones. I plugged them in and they don't work. Also now they are broken. I tried ipod earphones. I tried buying new speakers. And no, I'm not going to downgrade to XP. So like, anyone know what I should do other than live without sound?

If you got Windows XP, try clicking this icon on the system tray:

By clicking it once, you open the main volume adjuster and by double-clicking, you open a more detailed window where you can adjust different specs of volume.

Windows XP auto-adjusts volume for some unknow reasons sometimes.

If this doesn't help you, I can't help you.

I'm not a computer expert but It sounds like your card isn't functioning properly or might be busted.

I suggest getting it looked at by a professional or buying and installing a new sound card into your computer.

I have Vista, sorry. And on vista I tried clicking that too. It won't let me like, install the speaker thingy.

I, unfortunately would go broke, if I got a professional, since I'm a kid with no job and my parents don't care whether I have sound or not. How do I install a new sound card? Where do I get a sound card? But more importantly, what is a sound card?

Edit: I spelled something wrong.

You can buy a sound card in most places that sell computers and most eletronic places like Best Buy. Then you would have to open up your computer and remove the old sounds card and insert a a new in it's place. But, this isn't much cheaper either. :yuusaku:

Like, woah. Just looking at it makes me think it's expensive. Oh well. I think maybe if I get a USB connecting speaker it might work. Hopefully they are cheaper. Thanks anyway.

If you got an USB speaker that probably woudn't work...

Dowgrade.

Vista probably doesn't recognize your sound card so you can either... get a pro help :P

Or buy a new expensiever sound card wich vista likes.

Or reconfigurate vista.

Or Downgrade...

Vista sucks anyways...

Lots of equiment that were originally used with Windows XP have drivers on their websites that allow them to work with Windows Vista. Check the website of the manufacturer of the sound card and they just might have a driver waiting for you.

Yeah, the drivers for your sound card aren't compatible with Vista... look for newer, Vista compatible drivers.
