It depends on what it is and then I'll get hyped up.

After Star Wars battlefront 2 came out I just didn't care much for the wait time anymore. Because I knew it would come eventually.

Like I always say:
"Everything will happen eventually"

Being anxiously waiting for something is one of the things that keeps the wheel turning. It would be quite boring if you didn't know what the future would bring.

There will always be something to look forward to, so it's not an issue.

Patience alone isn't that much of a virtue. It's more the ability to harvest the energy and use it produktively and emotionally well when that time does come. Patiently waiting for something, and being let down due to over-hype makes patience the exact oposite - now you've bravely waited so long - for this piece of garbage?

And if it goes too long, then patiently waiting people is more likely to snap and hate the final product no matter what. Who is seriously going to play Duke Nukem Forever (in 2025?) and think anything but 'holy shit, this game is unremarkable compared to the xx years it took to make!'

I had a similar experience. I was looking forward to Elite Beat Agents, but after 6 months and still no game, I just thought 'screw it, I can just go play something else'. Now I'm only slightly interested in it. Much like some sort of over-hype force kick-back, or something.

Patience is a concept that only exists if you believe in it. And I don't believe in the concept of Patience.

I believe that people need to shut the heck up and learn to wait. Before anyone says anything that Patience and that people need to shut the heck up and learn to wait are the same thing, let me point out the difference. The difference is that in Patience, you can't hit the other people to make them shut up. :karma:
