Well, this happened to me and my friend in the mall the other day...
We both went into a clothing shop and looked at some jeans on sale.

Then a teenager, around 18 years old or so had a seizure and fell so suddenly right beside me.
I was so SCARED. Honestly, all I could do was yell help or call 911...luckily there were lots of people in the store and they came over and sought the situation. Then one of the people working at the clothing store knelt down beside the seizure victim and placed her on her side so she couldn't hurt herself by shaking too much.

And then she closed her eyes...that was one of the scariests moments in my life.
I now have a phobia of seizures.

Sad...anything else you guys have in your lives, you can add. :P

Or any comment to this event.

Damn O___o^

That reminds me of this time at church when this lady fainted a few rows in front of us. It was at the end of the service, and they kept on singing and I just wanted to scream OMFGGG THE OLD LADY FAINTED WILL YOU SHUT UP AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?!?!?!!!!!

I don't think I've had many scary moments. Painful moments yes, but nothing that scared me. Well I guess after I burned myself they put something on it that made it sting like hell that came out of a brown bottle like peroxide (but it was something else, you obviously wouldn't put THAT on a hugeass burn), and forever I was afraid of peroxide.

The worst thing that has happened to me was probably when I almost drowned when I was 8. I wouldn't say I developed a phobia, but I do prefer not to swim.

Well, I think I saw two ghosts... One was a flaming looking evil cat...

I once was in the same waiting lobby as a guy who died two minutes after I entered the office. I thought the screaming were the kids who were roughhousing... It turned out that the guy who died was on my good friend's baseball team......

Drowning. Ugh. I almost drowned at a pool party for the daughter of my dad's friend when I was about six or so. I accidentally stepped into the deep end, and I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on, I just screamed. And NO one noticed. It was the worst feeling in the world. You're up, you're down, you're up, down, down. And suddenly, a hired lifeguard pushed me back into the shallow end. I couldn't have been more relieved.
Fortunately, my aunt signed me up for swimming lessons soon after that, so the next time that almost happened, I just doggy paddled back to the shallow end.

I might be wrong when I say this but I think there is already a similar topic: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4104

Anyways, this happened when I was around 9 years old. It was late at night and my mom was still at work, so I was alone with my dad and big sister. My dad boiled some water for me so I could breath the steam and that way clear my nose and throath (it was sometime around the fall so I had a flu). Well, my father left me alone with the boiled water to see the news on the TV. I was sitting at the kitchen table back at the TV in the living room (our living room and kitchen didn't have a wall in the middle) when I heard the news anchor say something interesting. I immediatelly turned my head and I didn't understand that I had the boiling water bowl in my hands. The result: 2 litres of boiling water fell straight to my leg.

I started to scream and cry (who wouldn't?) and my father noticed it. He didn't know what to do so my sister said that maybe I should take a cold shower. My dad was hesitant, but did take me to the bathroom and put my leg under the cold shower. He didn't keep it there long though, only about 5 minutes. He's kinda idiot so I suppose that wasn't any news. Well, my sister started to ask my father to call the emerengy phone but he didn't want to do that as he didn't think I would need to see a doctor. I'm glad my sister was there because she convinced my dad to call the emerengy phone and off we went to hospital.

At the hospital, they asked what happened and they made it clear to my dad that he didn't act responsible. They also stated that I should have kept my leg under cold water for 30 minutes! I was so angry at my father that time, but I was so happy my sister was there for me. I got to thank her for so much. I don't even know what would have happened to my leg if it wasn't for her!

To those, who didn't have patience to read that much text: my father made me clear he is an idiot and my sister saved me.

My neighbor came over on Thanksgiving night unexpectedly claiming that the guy who was fixing her water heater tried to rape her. Well, the police were called and she didn't even know it was Thanksgiving. Turns out that she gave the guy drinks and he was drunk. She was drunk as well. She drinks straight vodka by the gallon.

I almost drowned in my team captain's pool during my baseball season. The worst part, only one parent noticed and saved me. The kids were just staring at me, and the other adults didn't even notice.
Don't mind me, just passing through.

Wow...looks like a lot of you are afraid of swimming. ;_; I'm sorry...

Yeah, well... the seizure victim I was talking about is okay now. I guess some people are born with some wrong electrical current in their brain and that causes them to have seizures. Or a brain tumor. T_T

I think I've been scarred for life by that event o_o....

Hm.

I split my knee open on a rock in Mexico.

I just tripped, randomly, and I thought, "Crap, now I have a skinned knee." But, when I looked down, I saw this big hole in my leg (I looked away before the blood). My parents were freaking out. Screaming. And I was thrown onto a golf cart (no ambulance; we were in a private resort), sped to a little medicine shack, and told to wait because a man ahead of me had a split skull.

By that time I was all but conscious, but imagine knowing that you're hurt, hearing Mexican doctors muttering about you, and not having any clue as to what is in that injection they're giving you.

Not fun. Still, the doctor was extremely skilled, and the worst part after that was taking the pain meds.

I know, I'm a baby. O_0;

Probably the scariest thing that ever happened to me was this summer when we went horseback riding on this one trail. It was in the middle of some forest, and it was really hilly. Well, anyway, we were all in a line, and the horse in front of me stepped on a beehive. They went crazy and started stinging everyone, including the horses, so then all the horses went crazy. Mine started running down the hill, so I was really freaked out that it was going to trip and roll down the hill and kill me or something. It didn't though, and we were both fine (except for bee stings) but I'm afraid of horses now. ;_;

One day, when I was 6-ish, I had finished going to the bathroom and I washed my hands. I had apparently used too much soap though. I went to unlock the door, and I kept on trying and trying to turn the knob. I couldn't do it, so I started to yell to my mother, who couldn't hear me because it's was a party. So, I cried for 5 minuted (I was terrified that I would never get out!) I then saw the window out the bathroom, so I climbed on top of the toilet and managed to jump out onto a pot of flowers outside. I tried to open the sliding door outside (there was about 10 people in the room, but they didn't seem to notice), but it was locked. So I tried to open the fence door, which was locked also. I knocked on the door, and someone got me in. I've been afraid of bathrooms ever since.

It wasn't life threatening, but I was terrified because I was so young.

And I saved the house from burning down today, but I'm not going into that.

Fell into a big ditch, almost snapped my back in 2. Couldn't move for 30 minutes and I was screaming help the whole time, but the time I could feel my legs again I climbed out and walked the rest of the way home. If it wasn't for this Dog that was following me I probably would have been to scared to move at all. This random dog just came outta nowhere even before I fell into the ditch, it was crying looking at me on the ground in pain.

I also should have died, cause I know my face was headed right into this really sharp piece of glass. I really don't know what happened except my back went all 90 degree on me.

Almost getting jumped by a defendants family. This happened on Friday. I was in the Courthouse lobby when all of a sudden, 5 people just came after me. Being a former college soccer player, I dodged them fairly easily. One tackled me from behind and the next thing I know, there are uniformed cops and plain clothes detectives everywhere. It was rather stressful.

Thought of 3 right off the top of my head...

1) When I was ohh...6 or so, my mom and I were out on a bicycle. We were going home when the rain started pouring and it started thundering. It was still too far from home and there was nowhere to hide other than under this bridge where many others were hiding. We waited for I dunno how long while thunder and lightning continued, and I was scared as hell 'cause we were actually outdoor. To this day I'm still scared of thunder and lightning.

2) About 7 or 8 years ago, something happened to the washer in my house and the pipe exploded. Water kept pumping out of the pipe and no one could stop it. The water flooded our entire house and when my dad was running around trying to get help, he slipped and fell on the ground. There was a huge BANG and we knew my dad's head hit the ground. He laid on the ground unconscious, and my mom and I were panicking. People came help, and it was the first time I had to call 9-11. The ambulance came and my dad was eventually okay, but that was one experience that I won't forget.

3) 3 years ago in highschool, my friend and I were in a public library in a mall when we heard someone running in through the entrance. I turned around and saw a disturbing sight that made me turn back around immediately: a guy running naked. At first I wasn't sure what I saw, and I didn't really want to make sure. I just whispered to my friend, "There's a guy running naked. Let's leave." Apparently the guy was shouting something like, "Where's my bride?" My friend and I just quietly left. It was rather...strange of an incident.

Speaking of naked guys...I remember once walking to school and some fully-clothed guy stuck out his penis from the fly of his jeans. I was like WTF and pretty much just ran off. Luckily it wasn't a remote area or anything... :meekins:

Tell me about it. It was darkly funny to watch a bunch of angry NYPD Detectives hold me back from going after the five of them. I was ready to go a few rounds. I was also yelling some very funny things.

"DON'T FUCK WITH ME!!!!!!!! I CAN RUIN ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!"

My good friend, Detective Scott Ravel, actually said, "We know you can, so don't go yellin that around."

I'm just happy I get to cross-examine the defendant later today. I'll get my revenge then.

...Dude. First I was scared, but... you are just too cool for words (like Klavier). XD *high five*

I've got a few stories myself, but I don't feel like talking about the worst ones because they're making me feel depressed right now... but there was this one time I was at my aunt and uncle's old house, next to the house and looking at the dogs in the backyard. Well, there was a pipe on the side of the house a few feet away from where I was sitting, and this bumblebee that lived there decided it didn't want to see anyone. So the bee attacked me, and I wasn't fast enough, so it kept chasing me and landing on me (I couldn't just stand still and wait for it to go away like I normally would, because this dude was obviously pissed already). Psycho-bee managed to get three stings in before it finally left me alone. I was afraid of bees for the rest of that year. Yeah, I probably should've been sitting a bit farther away from the pipe, but I would've done that if I actually did think I was too close.

Well, there was the time that I feel onto something sharp and it cut my hand right down to the muscle. I had to wait an hour before my parents got me home, bleeding seriously. When they got me to the OR, the anaesthetic wasn't working, not to mention they couldn't waste a minute because of the level of blood I was losing. So they had no choice, they had to operate without any anaesthetic. To top it all off, I was only 8 at the time. I remember to this day the pain I felt. It was horrible.

I got stuck in a ditch once with a friend. We were suppose to go somewhere that day and we had an hour so we decided to go play. We went to another neighbor hood that was under construction and we had this amazing idea! LET'S GO PLAY IN THE DITCH! So we went down there. And we couldn't get out, for about an hour. When my brother finally came he called us stupid and helped us out.

Also one day when I was fairly young, nobody was home. I was crying until they all came back...from the store. It felt like they were gone forever.

Also I was convinced that the grave made for one of our cats(killed by a car) was haunted so I never went near that area in the backyard again. ;_;

Wow... O_O That's exactly something I could be scared of. I mean, I don't feel comfortable about operations and especially not if I felt the pain or I wouldn't be sleeping during it.

Awkward is diffrent from scary.

ANYWAYS!:

Scariest moment of my life was when my mum fell down the stairs, in fact, the way she was lying when I found her she probably hadn't fallen down the stairs but just... huh.

I was about 14. Possibly 13, and she's fallen 2 years prevously from a blackout and lost her taste and smell, and it had been a severe wound too. So when this happened I almost couldn't think She'd cracked her head open too. My dad (they were still together then) called 999 and I got towels for the blood and to lie her head on. What made things worse is I AM A WORRY WART. I ADMIT IT. So I bacically think she's gonna die (it wasn't a huge wound this time either. It didn't help either she'd had too much to drink (I don't think that contributed to the fall, she could still walk straight) and kept asking what the problem was and saying "Geez, let's just go to bed huh?" SHe even tried to get up a few times. I almost crapped bricks I swear.

It didn't lead to my fear of drunks/being drunk, but I think it helped. No, that fears thanks to my dad about 6 months later and still continuing some times when I see him. Thanks a bunch.... ~_~

Thanks!

Yea! I've been compared to Klavier! :rock'n:

When I'm angry I'm either like Klavier or Hannibal Lecter. Depends on who I'm yelling at.

Also, I obliterated the defendant on cross-examination today. It was awesome.

Does an almost scary life experience count? o_o

I remember once in high school, my friend and I would always talk a stroll around the school at the end of the day while waiting for our parents to pick us up. One particular day, for some odd reason, on our usual stroll, we were about to turn the corner into the back field when we both got the feeling to turn around and go back. We just turned to each other and said, "Let's head back," "okay," for no apparent reason. The next day at school, we were told that some psychologically unstable guy in the neighborhood hung himself on the swingset of our school.. in the back field. Time of death was approximately 3:20 pm, the time my friend and I were waiting for our rides. If we had turned that corner, we would have seen him. The soccer team had gone out to the field to practice at 3:30 and saw the dead body hanging there. They all had to go into traumatic counselling. My friend and I stared at each other totally bug-eyed, as we thought about all the possibilities. Would we have witnessed his dying breath? Could we have saved the guy? And what was that feeling that told us to turn around? I wonder about it to this day. :sadshoe:

Also, my friend had an experience that right after finishing an episode of Death Note, some unfortunate kid hit a drunk man with his car right outside her house. Frankly, she refuses to watch Death Note ever again.

When I was about 3, my dad took me to our country club for swimming. I was in those inflatable water-wings and stuff, and he put me in the kid's pool.

He was lounging at the poolside cafe, letting me play. After a while, I got out, and wandered over to the adult side (which is just separated by about 3 feet of pavement). I fell in and sank like a rock.

I remember being at the bottom of the pool, and totally chilling out. Then my dad's hand reached in and he pulled me up.

It wasn't really scary, but it's very vivid in my memory, especially considering how young I was.

A life-threatening situation happened to my elder sister when she was younger. It was at the sea though, and this time she really drowned. My family and my mom's sister and her kids (I wasn't born yet) were at the beach. The tide was just coming in and my sister thought it would be safe to go a little deeper into the water.

But the waves came up and she started being dragged out to sea. My mom said my dad just stood on the beach with my brother and didn't think of putting him down to help my sister. My aunt had her two kids to handle. In the end, my mom waded out alone.

Luckily, a whole bunch of nearby Malay construction workers saw what was happening and formed a human chain to reach my sister and my mom. In the end, it was they who rescued them both (no thanks to my dad or aunt).

I had always wondered how potentially dangerous prosecuting was. Five people...whoa. I'm presuming the local police held them back as well. I wish I could've seen you cross-examine that defendant. That must've been a priceless moment. :karma:

Now for my contribution(s)...

1. I don't know if this counts, as I don't remember being too shaken at the time, but during one of my PeeWee baseball games in Jordan Park, we heard a sharp crack ring out. It was cloudy, but I don't think anyone saw lightning. If I remember correctly, the conclusion was reached that it was probably a gunshot. Needless to say, the game met an early end.

2. Late one night in my childhood, I heard two sounds that spook me to this day: a man shouting "Hey!" in the distance, followed by a gunshot. I'll probably never know, but I'll always wonder if I heard a man's last word that night.

3. My brother and I were wandering around the cornfield with our cousin one summer day in Corydon, Iowa. We were curious as to what was on the other side of the field. We followed the cornfield to a distant stretch of road, across which there turned out to be a dog--possibly a bulldog. It let out a menacing bark and started running toward us. None of us got hurt--the dog must've stopped chasing us at some point--but we turned tail and ran like nobody's business.

Finally...

4. During a pool party, I was wearing some floatation devices on my arms--probably those "inflatable water wings" Byakko mentioned--so I decided to wander out into the deep end a little ways. I was enjoying myself until someone lost his footing on the border between shallow and deep--understandable, as the floor descended at a steep angle--and started sinking. I went to him, thinking to rescue him. Unfortunately, he had the scrabbling hands of desperation and as a result, he ended up pulling at least one of my floatation devices off and using me as a floatation device, unintentionally keeping me submerged as I fought wildly to reach the surface. I must've reached the surface briefly on occasion because I didn't pass out, but I spent a long time flailing wildly and calling for help underwater. The flailing might've helped, but the yelling obviously didn't. Of course, I ended up inhaling some water. I remember looking frantically at the nearby wall and wondering if I was going to die. After what seemed like forever, someone finally fished me out. I was coughing and spluttering for the next hour or so. I have since learned to swim with relative confidence, but I never go underwater without holding my nose.

I remember something else. I was the only one up. I heard a noise. I opened the window and heard voices. I saw a car, with bright lights, drive by, and it appeared to be coming near my neighbor's house. I saw shadows flickering against the night. I heard alot of yelling that seemed to be my neighbors. I wondered if something was bad, because the kid next door has anger issues due to constant seizures, and the smallest thing can set him off. At 4:00 AM it ended and I thought I heard a gunshot, and someone continually yell "NO! NO! NO!"

I asked the neighbors about it the next day. They said they had slept fine, and heard nothing. The next door kid was OK, and in fact, there was a fence where I saw the car driving out. I don't know what happened that night, when figures like shadows danced and a chase went on, and I never will.

The NYPD always does a good job of keeping the D.A.'s safe.

Priceless barely scrathes the surface. It was FABULOUS.

I just remembered, there was this other time when we got home from my birthday party, and it was about 1 AM, and me, my sister, and... I think we had a friend with us... were in the living room playing with these Megaman figures I'd gotten, and suddenly, we heard something right outside the door that was... I dunno, like a loud thump or something... we ran into my room and hid under blankets for a while, me watching the birds' cages to make sure no one came in and tried to hurt them, and Mom and Dad woke up and called the police, and we didn't have any problems after that... my memory of this incident is fuzzy, but it was pretty scary.

Hey!! I'm not the only retard who dropped something that was boiling on themselves! :gant: I feel relieved.

Though I was 2 when I reached up and grabbed the boiling hot chocolate off the stove, then when I realized it was hot I dropped it and it spilled all down my front, through my heavy sweater and all. I'm too tall for my own good :payne:

I had to wear something called a compression vest for a year to flatten out the giant welt-scars from the burn, so now it doesn't look anywhere near as bad, thankfully, but I still have a giant scar across my chest (the pigskin didnt stick to it like it did my chin, so I only have a small line on the bottom of my chin from the burn)

I believed it looked something like this, except apparently the blisters were massive so they stuck out alot more then this, but generally its like my scar, except now its not red and has faded quite a bit XDD

Spoiler: Putting it under a spoiler tag because of the sissies

I can remember bits and pieces, because they tried to drug me with 4 different types of meds to knock me out, and none of them worked.

So they were scrubbing the scar (after the skin didnt stick), and treating it all while I was awake X_X I remember how freaking bad that hurt, and it took like 3 nurses and my grandma and great-grandma to hold me down to the table, because I was going nuts XP

^ Oh OUCH! Massive burn >____<

The greatest injury I ever had was when I fell into a ditch (just as I got off the car at school T_T) and there was some kind of pole, or something, sticking out in the ditch. Speared through my leg ><

Thankfully, it didn't hit anything like an artery, deflected off my thigh bone, and pretty much was just one hell of a flesh wound.

It's pretty much all healed, though I can't place too much weight on that leg for long periods of time.

Hmm...most of you seem to have water related experiences, I hate to laugh but I find that somewhat amusing (I mean no offence to you though) as I'm a very good swimmer (actually I was scared of the water for a few years but I learnt)

My scariest experience? Happened a few years ago. Outside our house, teenagers tried to break into a car in our street when the owner came out. He got stabbed with sharp scissors and was taken to hospital. I could hear it outside and was scared, hiding in the bathtub. Real scary. For a few days after that, we saw police and whatnot until they caught the stabber. The guy lived thankfully.
