Post your near death experiences here. (Yeah, I'm really weird)
If you don't want to, I understand. :yuusaku:

Anyway.. I'll go first.
This happened about 8 years ago, and I'm 13, so it's kinda foggy, especially because I was asleep at the time.
I was riding in a car, and I don't know how, but it rolled over twice and landed on the roof. All I know is I was scared like crap. Then the next day, my mom went to the shop where the car was. (totaled, lol.) And from the roof to the bottom of the seat, there was about a foot. I was laying back at the time. If I had been sitting up... I don't even want to think about that. :larry:

When I was born, I swallowed some fluids I shouldn't have. I almost died. Luckily, I was saved, buy because of my near death, I was mentally slow until I was 4 years old.

I also hit my head on the concrete once, I was knocked out and I could see this bright light, I had Amnesia for that while and my Grandma gave me diet coke, (my mom loves diet coke) I remembered right away. I knew who I was at that point. As I woke up I got away from the light.

This actually happened last Wednesday. Me and my mother were driving back home from visiting my sister. We left from Northern Sweden and travelled to Northern Finland by a boat. We continued from there towards the Southern Finland where we live. It takes about 6-7 hours to drive.

Well, it snowed alot on Wednesday and since there was no snow on the ground from before, the snow was really slippery and didn't hold on ground. It was like it was powder. We were about half way through on our trip when we were driving towards a ramp (or exit if you will) to get on another highway. The start of the ramp was FILLED with snow thus my mother couldn't slow down or turn enough before the ramp. We went a little croocked through the middle part over the other lane to the snowy side of the road where our car stopped. Thankfully both of us survived with no injuries at all. The left front tire, the thing that's holding it and the front axle broke because of the impact the car made to the middle part of the road, but nothing else bad happened. We called a truck to pick our car up and left it in another city for repairment. After that we rent another car and traveled back home. Thankfully the insurance company pays everything. :P

Now, if we had gone through the middle part car straight (not croocked to the side at all), I'm sure we wouldn't have been able to stop before it would have been too late. If there wouldn't have been a large quantity of snow in the side of the road, our car might have been rolled over or hit a tree. If there would have been someone driving to the highway on the other lane just that moment, only God knows what would have happened. Needless to say, we were EXTREMELY lucky!

When I was born (starts off a little like MMF's story), some fluid got into my lungs. The stupid doctors wanted to do a spine surgery. Well, my mom was in a delirious state. But, my grandmother stepped in and said no to it. My mom just agreed with her because, well, of her state. I was fine, after a few days. But, spine surgery is extremely dangerous.

When I was being born, my umbilical cord wrapped around my neck like a noose. It was lucky that they decided to perform an ultrasound. I was born through a Caesarian.

When I was ten, I got into a car accident. It was pure luck that the car smashed my legs instead of my spine.

When I was thirteen, I nearly drowned in an icy lake because the ice broke under my skates.

When I was eighteen, I nearly got into a fatal car accident. An out-of-control bus smashed into my brother-in-law's car seconds after I stepped out of its impact line.

Back in October, I was walking to school and it was a chilly morning. When I turned a corner into the next street, I saw a wolf and it looked at me. I immediatly froze because I thought it was going to bite me, but it ran into a neighbour's garden.

Needless to say, I ran as fast as I could before I felt I was safe...which was...two weeks after? XD

I very nearly got hit by a bus once. A school bus, no less.

Also, apparently I almost drowned when I was 3.

I've been in two car accidents before, but I don't know how serious they were, as I was very young when they happened.

I forget how old I was (8-11 range, I'd wager), but I was crossing the street on my way home from school and I was nearly hit by an 18-wheeler moving truck thing. There weren't any lights at the intersection, but there were lights a few blocks down in each direction (and one is always green when the other's red... it's nearly impossible to cross there when there are any amount of cars on the road). I saw the truck coming, and it began to slow down so I fancied it safe to cross. As soon as I was directly in front of it, the driver saw fit to speed up again. If I hadn't jumped out of the way at the last second I would have been roadkill.

And I nearly drowned at my tenth birthday party. We were swimming at the Sportsplex, and I had lent my goggles to one of my friends. I dunked underwater in the deep pool, and just as I was about to surface, another group of children riding one of those giant, animal-shaped flutter-boards floated right above my head. I couldn't get out from under it because, since I was ten, I didn't want to open my eyes and get chlorinated water in them. I eventually made it to the surface, but I had swallowed a lot of water.

Almost got strangled by my own jacket. >_> And at a Christmas party about eight years ago, I slipped on ice and cracked my head of the concrete. And someone tried to stab me when I was going through a park late one night. Obviously, I got away. Never went to that park again after that though. And in 02, I nearly drowned in a pool in Ibiza because I wasn't a strong swimmer at all back then. A friend's dad pushed me into the pool because he thought I could swim. ...Yeah, I couldn't.

When I was born, I was really weak. A few weeks later, I became very sick for some reasons, so my parents sent me to a hospital, and they were told to pick me two weeks later. However, after one week, they received a piece of notice that I was in dangerous ill. Now I can't recall what happened in the the hospital, but my mum told me my brain got permanent damaged because of that.

When I was two or three, I fall in to a cement pit and almost dead if one of my uncle's friends didn't pass by.

When I was eleven, in hospital again, over-injected by ...some kind of antibiotic, I believe. A very close one.

And there are some thing more...I can't list all of them here.It seems that I'm always close to death, but I always survive as well.=P

When I was little I had a horrible cough and my mother asked a friend of hers to drive us to the hospital. while we were out in the middle of a cross road an old man sped right into the van, causing it to flip three times until it stopped on it's side. In the front seat my mother had been hurt, and I was in the back trying to get out of my seat belt.

That incident still haunts me to this very day.

Same here, my mom tells me that when I came out they had to quickly get the cord off or I would have been strangled to death.

I fell into a river when I was young, inhaled some water and went downstream. I blacked out and woke up lying on the riverbank whilst my mom was slapping my face to get me to wake up. I don't remember much about it because it was about 14 years ago, just that I was really cold.

When I was a wee lass (about six), I was at a pool party of a daughter of one of my dad's friends. I hadn't yet begun swimming lessons, and I accidentally dropped into the deep end.
I flailed.
I screamed.
I cried.
I was scared.
Fortunately, I utilized my time in the air to breathe, and my time beneath to freak out.
No one noticed, except for ONE lifeguard, who quickly swam over and shoved me back into the shallow end, and I made sure to thank him several times over.

When I was young, I fell into the deep end of the pool when I wandered out of the kiddie pool nearby.I remember distinctly looking up at the sky and seeing the light filtering through the water. For some reason, I wasn't floating. But I wasn't panicked; I was actually very relaxed.

Can't remember how long it was before my dad's arm reached down and grabbed me up. The funny thing is he never told my mom or sis because he was watching me alone that day at the pool, and I guess he didn't want to have to tell my mom she almost lost another daughter to drowning. But he didn't think I was at the age where I could remember something like that XD

And yeah, my older sis almost drowned when she was younger too, but hers was a much worse experience.

They were at the beach, for one. A storm was rolling in, but my older sis was out in the sea. She was starting to get dragged out and so, my mom tried to dive in to get her. My dad was just holding onto my younger brother, although he could have easily left him with my aunt and head into the water instead >.>

In the end, several foreign workers at a nearby construction site saw what was happening, and formed a human chain to reach my sis before she was fully dragged out.

Interesting enough, neither me nor my sis are afraid of the water, whether in the sea or in the pool. She likes to swim, I just don't like to get wet (although I get agitated if I go scuba diving).

One time, I went skiing, right?

I must've hit the biggest clump of snow in existence, because I went sailing through the air, landed on my back, and slid down half the trail, I eventually stopped, and tried to get up, but I fell and slid down the rest of the slope. I probably lay there for about 5 minutes before I could see straight.

When I was 15, I was pretty much just being an idiot.
I convince my friend to let me ride along side his car on my bike and hold on to the side of it and see how fast we could go. 30 mph, so far so good. So we bump it up to 45 mph, also doing well. So we get about 55 mph on a straight-away and my foot starts to slip off the pedal. Now I'm gunning for the brake. I go for the rear brake and guess what? My lock is wrapped tight around it so I can't use it. So now I go for the only other brake left, the front break. As soon as I hit it, I fly over the front of my bike and hit the rear tire of the car in the opposite lane; split my shit wide open(Thankfully I had a giant poofy afro). My friend who was driving said he thought I was dead and my uncle said my head looked like a fillet'd fish and that he could see my skull bone from standing above me. Left a giant pool of blood in the road that stayed for about a month before you couldn't see it anymore. Needed 8 stitches in my head and have a giant scar thats still there (not just the mark but you can feel it too

Next day, we tried again, no accidents.

Falling down stone stairs of an ancient structure. The stairs were LONG.

I was so afraid I was going to start rolling over and break something. I was on vacation too. And I knew if I fell all the way down I would hit my head and hurt myself. And then I wouldn't be on CR XD

That was about the time I came on here regularly (for a month)(then I quit for a month and came back, and now I'm here)

My shins hurt because I had to stop myself D:

I've choked numerous times on various things such as mints, popcorn, and even rice, usually in public places around many people. But I've trained myself to help me on my own, since no one really notices me doubled over with my eyes bulging out of my head. I just concentrate on trying to get air through my nose and put a lot of upward force from my throat on the object. Worked about every time. But I STILL always think "I'm gonna die! *panic*"

Oh yeah. I stuck a magnet up my nose when I was a baby.

The shiny metal hairpins + electrical sockets was an ongoing thing for me until a month had passed and I turned 2. To prevent that from happening there were these plastic white plugs that were in place. I remember them because they were flat with a square etching. Strange that I remember them that clearly but maybe there are a few of them still around. I don't know. The human brain only takes in what is seen as significant. :yuusaku:

I'm currently in a small town on vacation. There is a busy 3-way intersection that cuts into a main road and the other path goes off into a public park. I've been run over at this intersection twice. First time was on 11.Sept.01. The other time I'm not really sure I can disclose. I can state that I have had more body-meets-fender experiences since that day. Not at that deadly intersection though. :shy:

Uhmmm....Fun?

I know this thread is about near death experiences and not actual contact, but sometimes you need to contemplate the results of irreversible death and the effect of that on the world. Temporary is usually much worse.
