Aperture Science is pleased to inform you that we have partnered with Valve to announce the gala CANCELLATION of the June 14 Portal 2 event at the Regal Theater. The event will be replaced by a surprise. And even though the cancellation of the event certainly counts as a surprise, we are pleased to further announce that the cancellation of the event is not THE surprise. However, per International treaties regarding the definition of the word “surprise”, of which both Aperture Science and Valve are signatories, the time, date and content of the actual surprise will only become available as you experience the surprise.

A mysterious image of the Half-Life logo with the words “Freeman, June 14th” underneath has been making rounds on the net today. The photo looks like it could be that of some sort of promotion booklet or poster.
This comes after Valve canceled their Portal 2 event at E3 for a “surprise” announcement instead.
Microsoft’s media briefing is also on June 14th. Will we see Half Life 2: Episode 3 at Microsoft’s conference? I have good reason to believe it’s a PC exclusive, but we’ll have to see come E3.

I do hope it's something to do with another Half-Life (i mean, geez, even an expansion or side story would suffice for me) since it isn't Portal 2 anymore. Bah.

In any case, after all this years, Half-Life 3 would make more sense. Or maybe not, dunno, didn't get to play any Half-Life games yet.

Nah, the release date will be December 22nd 2012.
(I don't believe in the 2012 event), and if magically the world survives, they will delay it until 2025.
