Persona 4 Fighting game + PSVita remake

Persona 4: The Golden is going to be the PlayStation Vita remake of Persona 4, like P3P for Persona 3. There's a new character, more voice acting, and many improvements made to the battle and exploration system.
Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena is a fighting game taking place 2 years after Persona 4 starring characters from Persona 3 and 4. This is a joint effort between Atlus and the developer behind the 2-D BlazBlue fighting games.
First an anime and now this?! Thank you Atlus!!

Huh..... It seems each version uses a Protagonist that it slightly different.....I guess for the game they'll either cop out and not give him a name or make him slightly different yet again and give him another name!

Needs more characters, specifically ones from Persona 3. I mean come on, Rise looks like she might even be on the roster and the slightly grown-up Persona 3 cast would fit like a glove compared to her.
And on the subject of Persona 4: The Golden, holy crap, if there was any game that would compel me to get a PSVita...

Edit: The actual page for this game is accessible from the blog page above it has a section on story but it's all Japanese...don't suppose anyone knows enough to translate it?

It's pretty much an RPG with social elements.
You summon different Persona's to give yourself different abilities in combat (like one persona will know fire spells, another will be a buffer most commonly there's a mix). Persona's are linked to social links, which you develop by befriending or dating people. The higher the social link the higher level a persona will be when you make one and the more abilities and stats you will have.
Time management is an issue as there are often deadlines before something terrible happens in which you would need to be prepared for some big fight or have completed a certain objective by. In Persona 4 you have the option to either hang out with someone which may raise social links or go fight in the dungeons.
More or less High schooler by day, vanquisher of the secret forces of evil by night.
Persona 4 is more restrictive of what you can get done in a day but it's a more refined system and you get more control (in Persona 3 you can't directly control your party members).
Also Turn Based Combat...that's how it is.

FYI, Persona 1 and 2 are incredibly different from 3 and 4. 1 and 2 have a demon-negotiating system closer to what's used in other SMT games as opposed to the Social Link system.

Everyone else pretty much summed it up, but I would probably recommend Persona 4 as a way to get into it (though if you're getting a PSP Vita it might be worth waiting for Persona 4 Golden?) because it perfected the formula from Persona 3, and I thought it had a much more colorful, memorable cast to relate to, plus a story that legitimately threw me for a loop (in the good way) toward the end. It's a lot of fun, with a nice balance between dungeon-crawling and story (except at the beginning, where it's like 5 hours of story before the first save point but I digress).

My dream came true, a shirtless Akihiko has entered the ring (why is this, I don't know) and Mitsuru joined as well (with some kind of leather suit)...

Well the game is set after Persona 4 right? Not sure by how long but wouldn't Akihiko and Mitsuru have graduated out of school uniforms by that point?
Though on cloer inspection Akihiko HAS A FREAKIN CAPE AND COMBAT KNIFE!!! XD Awesome.

Yeah, they would have already graduated by then. I got the impression they were going to present them in uniform still though because that's how we as players experienced them in the game. Not saying that change isn't good, but... Aki with a cape and a knife and a bottle of something strapped to his waist... wat. What have these two being doing out of school? x'D

Maybe Aki went on to be a boxer with a military motif. Or a vigilante!
Or he just joined the military and wants a cape because capes are awesome.
I'm more concerned what Mitsuru is doing that requires her to wear tight leather clothes with lots of fur....
Though gotta remember this game is actually going to have story meaning it's part of the persona...'canon'? Well at least so far dunno if it'll be announced as uncanon so yeah Mitsuru and co would have to have went on with their lives somewhere.

Ceaser has a cape + sword Akihiko has a cape and Dagger. Akihiko can't excatly have a mini person in him tho like ceaser
Artemisia (?) wears a black getup similair to what Mitsuru has on + i think the weapons are similair (can't quite see them)
Since it's already been pointed out they should have graduated having them in School uniform wouldn't make sense so dress up up as their personas?

Well I suppose so, but their persona's will be appearing alongside them, would look silly to cosplay something that appears with them.
