Discuss hopes and/or speculation for a pontential RE6. I'm saying potential as if the game wasn't going to be announced today at 22:00 UTC (14:00 PST)
Which it totally is.
In completely unrelated news today's Capcom 15th Anniversary event for the Resident Evil franchise (see what Capcom did there!?). That's gonna be streamed live right here.

I want a RE5-style game just so Revelations gets more praise >:3
Seriously though, I want a Revelations-styled game with original characters and an actually compelling plot. Rumors have been pointing to it being set in an asian country for months. I'd like that.

Though if that No Hope website IS related to RE6 then surely the dots indicate it's going to occur on an international scale?
I picture acts between countries much like MGS4 did rather than acts just carrying you through different locales in one country.

In all seriousness, I'm hoping for RE6 today because that suggests Capcom is not adverse to announcing long-awaited sequels at franchise anniversary events. Not that I'm hoping for anything in particular.

IGN says Leon, Chris, an unnamed new character, and Ada are the protagonists, with Ada's story being unlocked after finishing the other three. Leon/Chris/New guy also have partners.

Disappointing to see Chris Redfield isn't dead yet.
Also feel sorry for Leon still getting harassed by Zombies, he's probably bordering among the top folks who've seen the most infected in action. Needs to get out of the profession like good ol Barry did.
Though I'm wondering who the skinhead protagonist is.

If you are even somewhat like RE and have a 3DS, GET THIS GAME. Great controls, atmosphere, and graphics. Bad thing is in the demo, when you die, the demo restarts, so if you run out if bullets, you're screwed.

Well it's not a big demo...like 3 enemies unless the US demo is different from the Mercs 3D demo though it's good it actually became atmospheric and very scary again. Something which I felt RE5 lacked a bit.

Also, this is kinda good: true Resident Evil fans have Revelations on 3DS, and those who want it to become Call of Duty: Perpetual Zombies have this. Funny how the game is now listed as "Action Adventure". Remember when RE was a survival horror series? Haha oh Capcom, you have become the Japanese Activision.

Granted Operation Racoon City left me thinking "Yes there's certainly a possibility for third or even fourth non-infected parties to be involved" but it just seems.....off-putting. I suppose I get that way when any modern stuff invades my horror game as I felt a little confused when I started fighting JJ and dynamite-wielding Ganados at the military base in RE4 and same with the military folks on RE5.

I know there's always Revelations for the true RE fans, but we all know it has absolutely no chance of outselling game 6. I don't like the way RE is going with this, it's as if Link fought the Russian: a classic, industry-defining series adapting itself to the highest-selling formula instead of leading innovation like it used to. Thank God Nintendo would never do something like that. It's what draws the line between a company that develops games and a corporation that sells games.

I still don't know what to think about RE6 so far, I'll wait for more gameplay before making any hasty judgement.
I'm just a tad sad they're not planning to go back to survival-horror any time soon... even Revelations wasn't that much of a survival-horror (besides some of the sequences on the Queen Zenobia).
