Best Games of 2012?

What do you consider to be the best games of this year? That is, overall or in their own genres/categories.
I can't say much because I haven't played a lot of games this year, but I'm pretty sure Halo 4 will get a ton of awards this year. As far as I've read, it has exceeded everyone's expectations and become the best Halo yet... Which is not saying THAT much but definitely means quite a bit.
If I had the call, in any case, the award would either go to Journey, Fez or Dishonored. Those kinds of games NEED to get more recognition.

About RPG's...Not so sure...
Granted; Pokémon B/W2 for sure, but then again Kingdom Hearts 3D didn't dissapoint me at all either.
Hmm...I need to think this more, but definitely those at least.

It's too bad I can't judge on Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney this year, but I hope I will be able to do so next year.

I'm gonna agree with Pierre, Dishonored wasn't too good. It felt too easy despite playing on the hardest difficulty, and too short. Maybe cause it was overhyped as hell, but it just a very disappointing game.
Mark of the Ninja does seem like a good contender for great stealth game from what I've heard and seen. One day I will play it.

Shame you just missed a steam sale where it was only £5.99, ah well there will probably be a christmas one soon.
It's also a very short game but it's just far superior to Dishonoured in the stealth field. I feel with dishonoured I should just kill everyone as there isn't really much support for stealth-based gameplay short of "get above them with blink".

Other than the difference in the endings, High Chaos and No Chaos, I had no incentive to go stealth. Especially with that broken ability that made bodies turn to ash when you stab them

Seeing how ME3 got massive negative response and is still there when many places I hear have it down for "most disappointing game" and I hear AC3 got a bit of that too with it's ending it seems to indicate it's already rigged to me. The only confirmation would be if RE6 made the list.
I think TWD will take it, because it's more recent and therefore fresh in the minds than Journey and it'll reach a wider audience than Journey but hey they both deserve it.
