There are some gamers out there who don't think well of this series for one reason or another; some think that it's childish, others that it's been overtly milked to the point it's not good anymore, or others still dislike it simply because the franchise isn't as 'hardcore' or 'exciting' as what's offered on competing systems, such as the PS4 or Xbox One. However, I personally feel that this would be doing the series injustice: the series may have a broad appeal and evoke a sort of child-like wonder, but it's far from childish; there may be many games, but the spin-offs are generally pretty great games (Mario Kart anyone?) and the 'main' titles are usually sparsely released and as such, higher quality; finally, though not every Mario is quite that hard, on the whole the main titles have enough difficulty and variety to them that they are certainly hardcore and exciting. It's a great franchise made by (in my own, biased opinion) one of the best developers on the market, so I can't help but love it so

As such, I've decided to create a thread devoted to this franchise to spread the love around a bit Have a favorite game? Spin-off? Soundtrack? Character? Want to speculate about the series' future? To start off with, let's bring up the recent 'main' Mario titles; Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 as well as Super Mario 3D World. I'll be honest, I didn't really pay that much attention to Mario before last November, but after experiencing the latter and purchasing and playing the former, it's transformed me into a major fan Super Mario Galaxy 2 is my current favorite game in the series; the 3D platforming felt so unique, so perfect, so sublime, and there was so much variety to the levels that it continued to surprise and impress throughout the whole duration of the game. It's a masterpiece; there's no doubt in my mind about that 3D world is also superb however, and comes at a close second; it's lively, fun, has a jazzysoundtrack, stellar platformig and like Galaxy 2, there's SO much level variety here. It helps too that it's awesome to play with friends The first galaxy was great too, don't get me wrong, it just didn't feel as fun as the other 2 for whatever reason, I couldn't tell you why That said, all 3 of them are amazing and are definitely among the greatest, or if not ARE the greatest, games I've ever played
