The Dynasty Warriors series is getting a major change!

A crossover literally nobody saw coming!

They're calling it that because the game is a Gundam game built on the DW engine. I think people have known about the game for months now- but the demo's been released for download for PS3 owners.

Actually played the demo last weekend. It's... well, I had fun, but I can tell you conclusively the storyline is sorely lacking, and exists to try and badly justify the clusterfuck crossover between the different alternate universes in the Gundam franchise. If I recall right, there's something like 6 entirely unrelated universes in the Gundam franchise: Universal Century (MS Gundam, 08th MS Team, 0080 War in the Pocket, 0083 Stardust Memory, Zeta Gundam, Double Zeta, Char's Counterattack, Formula 91, Victory Gundam, G-Savior), Future Century (G Gundam), After Colony (Gundam Wing), After War (Gundam X), Correct Century (Turn A Gundam), Cosmic Era (Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed DESTINY)...

... You know, I should probably be stunned at what a Gundam nerd I am :edgy:

In any case, the game looks like it'll be a lot of fun, but it's tough to go wrong with giant robots beating the crap out of hundreds of other giant robots. Not a "great" game, but just a fun one when you need to sit down and just kill something.

Point A is that you're dumb, Waffleman.
Point B is that Turn A exists to wrap up Gundam. G, SEED, Wing are completely unrelated.
Point C is that storyline is always superlative to gameplay.

It's an Omega Force game.

I'd be disappointed if I DIDN'T get to kill a godawful amount of enemies with a shitty storyline and awful voice-acting. Hell, I'm getting Warriors Orochi BECAUSE the storyline will be tacky and the voice-acting will be awful.

A Dynasty Warrior by any other name is still Dynasty Warrior.

Which, if it was anything else, would suck massively.

It's one of the few games where tampering with the formula would inevitably bring the apocalypse for the developers.

I meant that in the sence that regardless of what skin it has, its still the same mundane hack and slash gameplay that has not changed since DW1 came out years ago. <.<

Considering DW1 was a fighting game, you fail.

You mean DW2.

I suppose I will check it out. I've never really played Dynasty Warriors, but I can hardly resist giant fucking Robots.

It's fun for a while. It's a harkening to the old school beat 'em ups and quite frankly, I think that's why I can't say no to a Warriors game.

Except Samurai Warriors, because I just don't care about the Sengoku era.

Blah, I meant two, I don't really give two fucks about the series so I forgot that 1 was a fighter :nick:

I'm posting in a legendary thread. Maybe.

I dig giant robots. I dis-dig (Undig? Antidig?) boring hack and slash games.

Exact opposite for me :will: More Nobunaga, plz <3. I tried playing...I think it was Dynasty Warriors 5, and I didn't like it at all for some reason. But I've never been against pressing the same button endlessly while people die around me.

I'm not much of a Gundam fan, but this does sound like an interesting game. The shows are full of "Gundams slaughtering dolls by the hundreds" montages. Might as well let fans do the same.

Probably because you don't care much about RoTK, much like me with the Sengoku era...

Nobunaga is awesome though, but if I played SW2, it'd have to be with Musashi and no one else.

Lesse, I've watched... Wing, Stardust, and one of the movies (Char's Counterattack, maybe? The one that ended almost exactly like Wing did, except, the guy blew up). I didn't think they were crappy, but I'm not much of a mech fan, either.

Point being, I think it's a pretty good premise for a mech game. Shit blowing up is half the reason people watch those shows, right?

For me, it would be all Cao Pi, just to giggle at his name. And I DID play Samurai/Dynasty(I forget) Warriors on the 360 a bit at a gaming cafe. It seemed like a nice diversion for a bit.
