Taking into account the logo/text has to be changed into English. I'm quite unsure.
European DS boxes are also twice the size of Japanese/American ones, in thickness.
I much prefer the slimline Japanese/American boxes, personally.

Yeah, the box-art for the first PW: Ace Attorney was hideous, IMO.

As for them not making new box arts for DS games in Europe, the companies just don't seem care about Europe too much.

Talk about thickness when they cost around 40€ each! Count with this: 20$ = 15€
And ordering games to Europe from Play-Asia costs around 40€, including postage! Everything in Europe is way too expensive!
Other little math exercises:
PS3 = 699€
Wii = 270€
Xbox 360 = 360€
Standard Wii and Xbox 360 games = 60€

I think that the dots are probably the result of a poor picture.

Much more cost effective by not having to waste ink and resources on elaborate and sized box arts.
Personally I don't give a damn about how creative a cover looks. Just like reading a book you don't get the "wow" by pouring over the cover instead it's the text that triggers it. When a game I play really sucks I'll take back what I said and be more entertained by staring at the game's box art. For now my attention to the covers on every game box I have is as much as caring enough to throw them away.

Reason for thickness in DS games in Europe is: There are greatly over 100 different spoken languages in Europe, and ALL instruction manuals coming with games are translated generally over to 5 different languages. With same things in five different languages, you´ll need a bigger box. And don´t forget all the Wii and DS notes coming with games.

Publishers cant be bothered with Europe :(
Like in some titles like Dragon Ball Z they say we got the orignal voice acting from the japanese version but really it's becuase they can't be bothered to get the different voice actors.
