Not to go off-topic or anything, but fans of a Nintendo-exclusive game could have other interests, since PW is a Capcom game, and Capcom has many PS-only titles... As a matter of fact, if it weren't so expensive or suckage, I'd like to get a PS3...

im not trying to bash the ps3. i too would get one if the price wasn't that steep, but from my experience, the handheld of preference ussually tends to match the console of preference.

You seem to be confusing the PSTriple with the Wii...

When all is said and done, the PS3 will have the best line-up. Hardware sales will remain far behind the 360 and Wii, but the game library will be superior. Unless the 360 rolls out some very impressive exclusives.

You know what. Today at work I convinced a family of devoted XB360 purchase to change their mind and think about their options on their next console purchase, FYI I work for GC, (don't know what GC Means, look up one of my previous posts), Here is how it went down, they wanted to buy an XB360. I was OK Cool, let them buy it, but all we had was the Arcades (279.99) and the Halo Ed. (399.99) and some used ones (299.99) After chatting with them for 1/2 an hour I convinced them to buy an Arcade and buy some games for it (since they said the kids will probably be bored with it after a year) When I told them their total they cringed (it was close to $400) After that i started to talk to them telling them that Video Games is an expensive hobby to invest in, especially if their Kids will lose interest in the console after the first year. I began detailing a lot of Pros and Cons between all of the systems.

PS3- PROSCheapest Blu Ray player on the market to date with the 40g version, Free online Play, Free Blu ray movie/ 5 free offer. Is also a Video Game System, Looks great on HDTVs. PS3 exclusives coming next year and in 09CONS 40g Has no backward compatability, 80g has limited Backward compatability, Online play experience is pretty horrible. Updates happen every so often to keep up with online play. Not a good Game Selection, Most "Exclusives" are now Multi-platform.

X360- PROSGreat Only Experience, Has been on the market for a year longer than the PS3/wii, Most games run better on system if its Multi-platform for XB360 and PS3 CONS Pay $50 a year, Breaks down easily (around 45% after first year or so), Not too many XB360 exlusives coming out soon (Halo Wars does not count!),

Wii- PROS All around family fun, Games around $20 - $50, Game system costs $250, A lot of Exlcusives for the system. CONSLittle to no Online Support, no DVD playback, Runs on 480i.

Of course I went into others too, with the help with my co workers to give them the broad spectrum of things, (I was nintendo, I had a PS3 guy and an XB360 guy so it was all evenly given) After that I basically said. "Really, its something to think about, If your buying a system, it should be for entertainment to last longer than a year. Its a heavy investment and you need to decide what is the best one to get"


My point is, This guy bought a PS3 out of his best judgement and thought it was a wise investment. If you don't even play video games, why would we bother to take your opinion seriously on a gaming matter?

I love my Wii and I love my xbox360, but it'll be a cold day in hell before I get the PS3, unless something comes out exclusively on it that I actually want to buy (BESIDES just ONE darn game, metal gear I'm looking at you).

Anyway, have fun with it. I recommend the PS3 to those who enjoy "traditional" games... as in all the wrestling/sports/fighting/racing games that are a dime a dozen. A Coworker got it for her son for x-mas this year, and apparently he doesn't keep games around for very long and sells them after a couple years, so it's a good system for him I'm sure (hell I still have my atari 2600 lying around... throw away a system? OMG no way!)

Also, it's hilarious when you look at porn sites using the Wii... and SO WRONG at the same time!

My comment stands as it is, its a generalization is all. If it was taken out of context, (ie) thought I was talking about a particlar person, it isn't my fault.

Why I stopped playing games? Hm... Lets see... XB360 selection is Halo 3, and its becoming a bore. Not many games I'm interested in other than maybe Naruto, but even then I play that one at work. Lost Planet is coming to the PS3, so I got no reason for it anymore. PS3 has got nothing good so far, other than Uncharted and I beat the game already and enjoyed it. Wii, Honestly, the last game I bought was DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3, and I play that game when I get time to play, that is aside from work hours, school hours, and Convention Planning. For right now, gaming is at a dry spell with me.

Granted, I bought a Guitar cuz of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, but because of it I am now part of an excellent band, I may be their Rythm guitarist, but a gig is a gig. Also, much of my spare moments and projects I handle are due to Video games that I am able to work with that.

Also, the fact that I work at a video game store does not up my opinion in the matter, I've been gaming since I was 5 years old, and that is an 18 year gaming streak I have going on. I think my 18 years of Gaming Experiece can qualify me for an opinion on this topic and not my 3 1/2 years of Gaming retail experience.

Let me see here... all those games right? Let me give you my Opinion on them:

Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation - I'm not into flight simulator games, and probably never will, but I played the game a bit and felt its controls where a bit smooth, but not really my thing.

Eternal Sonata: I like this RPG, too bad its coming out to the PS3 now, so I think I'll wait for this game to arrive to PS3 to play it.

Dead Rising: Oo? Not related to George A Romeroe's Movies? Right.. common, its so obvious its there. Its a fun game, i only hated the fact that I had to reach so far to save the damn game ><! Its good so its fun.

Gears of War: Seriously, This game is good, but shooters aren't my thing. I like Halo cuz its a fun time killer. Jez...

ChromeHounds: Armored Core rip off, at least in my opinion anyways. But all in all it was fun to play through for a bit, even if i thought some of its gameplay was a bit clunky.

Armoured Core 4: Liked this game, but was never a fan of Armored core, so I didn't play it that much.

Assassin's Creed: OMG, what can I not say about this game, this is by far the best game I've played that's come out of Ubisoft outside of Prince of Persia.... but for the PS3, so =P.

Call of Duty 4: Its a good FPS, very nice and honestly, took me a while to get the control scheme down for this. After so many online ass whippings I received Its a fun game.

Viva Pinata: Uh... no comment on this, but I've seen my buddy play it and so far its looks intruiging.

Forza Motorsport 2: Don't like racers, don't care.

Mass Effect: THIS GAME IS COMING TO THE PS3 no need for me to play this until then.

Project Gotham Racing 4: See Forza Comment.

The Orange Box: Played through Portal, beat it. Played Team Fortress online, was fun and exciting, Tops Halo in fun factor, but since its restricted a bit, (ie) only one person per console for online play, It rather tore me down.

Folklore = I played it, I didn't much care for it, the controls was a bit wonky and felt like the game was too linear for me.
Warhawk = GREAT ONLINE PLAY! Even has 4 player online co-op witch is a plus for me when I have friends over and want to play online with one console.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma - Borrowed it from my friend and its the best damn game I've played in the NG series so far.. to bad NG2 seems to be more like a DMC style rip=off now..
MotorStorm : Seriously, this game was fun for like 10 minutes..
Resistance: Fall of Man : Uh, own it, get owned online, Like to play it everyso often, so yea.

Disgaea 3 - Are you kidding me? I LOVE, i repeat, LOVE! SRPG games! i own like every other NIS game for the PS2 made. La Pucelle Tactics, Disgaea 1 and 2 (on a side note I have the mangas as well) I got GrimGrimoure, Makai Kingdom, Phantom Brave, Atelier Iris 1,2, and 3, Spectal Souls(in fact my buddy worked on this game and I got a copy of it for free) NIS games, IMO are THE BEST games for RPGs. As soon as Square let me down, NIS was there to pick me up with their RPGs.




I'm not gonna bother listing Metal Gear, nor Final Fantasy since those games are given, and frankly doesn't need to be opinionated on. But there are a few games for the PS3 that are good. Heavy Rain for one, it seems like an excellent game. Also Prototype is looking to be an awesome game as well.

Wii:
Eledees - Elebits: its a fun game to play, I go to my buddies house and play this game constantly, its fun to mess around and end up tring to catch those little guys.

UR MR GAY - Super Mario Galaxy: I love this game, and I can't get enough of it. Though sadly I don't own a copy of it, but I at least play it at work whenever I get the chance I can... or rent it >_> depends on what I do at the time.

Endless Ocean - game hasn't come out yet here so I don't know.

Excite Truck - Best racer by far, especially since I can play my custom MP3 tracks while I race ^_^

Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure - This is fun, enjoy it well, beat it, and went on to my next game.

No More Heroes - Please, This game is <3. As soon as I heard about this I was patiently waiting for the game. I played Killer 7 so I know Suda's work and what I can expect from No More Heroes. I know I will not be disappointed with this game.

So was Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox and its on PS3 as Sigma. As well as Lost Planet and it too is going to the PS3.

The fact is lots of 3rd party developers are starting to see that multi-plaforming would be best to place it on both high end machines. DMC4 was PS3 only, now for 360 and PC, Assassins Creed PS3 only, now on XB360 as well. Most 3rd parties would WANT their franchises to pick up in ALL markets.

Hence why DMC was ported, since the US market is (mostly) dominated by 360 owners its benefitial for them for multi console release.

Lost Odyssey - Nope, it's part of Mistwalker's three exclusive RPGs for the 360. Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and Cry On.

Fallout 3 - Bethesda has confirmed that their main focus for this game is the 360, expect the PS3 version to be sloppy.

ChromeHounds - That's because it's made by the people who did Armoured Core. ._.

Assassin's Creed - PS3 has a lot of extra technical issues, in a game that already has quite a few problems. And wut, no love for Beyond Good & Evil? D:

You provide a lot of examples where PS3 games have gone to the XBOX 360, but your only example of 360 games going to PS3 are Capcom games(Apart from Eternal Sonata, don't know the story there).

Those devs are making games for both systems now, because they're disappointed with PS3 sales, and think they won't be able to turn a profit unless they make games for both systems.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma was developed in a time where the 360 was expected to perform to very well, it was also thought to be the most powerful system at the time, and the head of Team Ninja has stated before that the studio always favours the most powerful system, and yet... Ninja Gaiden II is 360 exclusive. D:
