Gonna be buying myself an Xbox 360 Elite...

First, I've heard it's incredibly noisy; but that's not a problem. Since I'm an FPS fan, and I'll be owning Halo 3, Orange Box, BioShock, etc, it'll offset the noise, right?
Anyway, my real questions:
1. You don't actually need a fan for it, right? Personally, I'm gonna be having it on top of a wooden chair with no back, so the fans should have PLENTY of air to keep it from RROD-ing.
2. Is it true that the Elite carries a new motherboard that brings down the RROD rate from 33% to a mere 2%? o.o
3. Are there any games that you, the 360 gamers, would HIGHLY recommend to me? (Note: I have about 20-25 games on my list, but I'm probably going to rent most of them before I buy them. I want to know what others think about the game library.)
And 4. WHY THE FUCK IS THE WIRELESS ADAPTER NOT INCLUDED WITH THE ELITE!? D<

* That depends entirely on how loud you have your sound system.
1. If your system is a Red-Ringer, it will happen regardless. Just enjoy your console and don't worry about fans.
2. The Falcon chip makes the system run cooler, yes, but we don't actually know whether or not it changes the RRoD rate.
3. WarTech: Senko No Ronde, Project Sylpheed, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Eternal Sonata, Dead Rising, The Orange Box, Beautiful Katamari, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation... and throw down a pre-order for Culdcept Saga.

* I'm not sure, myself. I guess I'll just have to find out. But my Wii w/Cooler Fan is pretty loud, so if it's like that or softer, it'll be fine. (Someone gave me the Cooler Fan for Christmas last year. *shrug* I figured I might as well use it, and it does keep the thing 100% cool even after I've played a good four or five hours)
1. I guess so. My friend's Xbox 360 was a launch one, and his RROD'd about three days ago (Right after I asked him about it - he called me out, thinking I voodoo'd him :P But he got it fixed using the towel method), so I'll probably just opt out and get the 3 year warranty.
2. RRoD is caused by overheating, yes? If so, then it should work with the Falcon. If it actually is a 'general system failure', then it may not change the rate.
3. I've already put down Lost Planet, Orange Box, Ace Combat 6, and I've been looking at Eternal Sonata and Dead Rising. I'll definitely look into the others you listed. Thanks.
And another question:
I've heard Microsoft replaces RRoD'd systems for free. Is this true or do you have to be on the warranty to get that? If so I'll probably get the 3 year warranty that's at Best Buy.

*Indeed, it does quite a bit of noise. But you probably won't notice it much if you play whit a hight volume.
1.Don't get a fan. Repeat: DO NOT GET A FAN. Doing so not only void your warranty (which is I believe 2 or 3 years for the RROD), but some of those fans have been proven to make the 360 more prone to breaking. Personaly, I suggest that you take some breaks while playing to make the 360 cool down.
2. Some Elite (a.k.a. the newer ones) come whit the Falcon motherboard instead of the Zephyr one. I do believe it helps making the system less RROD-prone, but I honestly have no idea where the heck you got your stats...
3. Rockstar Presents Table Tennis. 'nuf said.
4. Becose Microsoft is cheap
And the other question: they replace it only if you are under warranty. The console commes whit a one year general warranty from Microsoft and a three year warranty specifically for the RROD.

And thanks for the information. Unfortunately, when you play FPS games you tend to go on for hours normally. =\ Do you mean take a break as in stop playing and leave the system on or are you trying to tell me to turn it OFF every hour or so? Cause the latter, if I happen to be playing Halo 3 or Orange Box, I might not be able to conform to, but the former I can.

Except I got the Arcade version instead of the Elite.
Know what else? I'm getting a 120GB HDD for my birthday. So I can hold out a little longer~

Arcade, Pro, Elite.
Arcade comes with a 256MB Memory Card, and all the normal trimmings (Wireless Controller and Xbox 360, blah blah blah), BUT it comes with an extra 360 game: An Arcade collection housing five games for your Live Arcade.
Pro is your standard Xbox 360, coming with the 20 GB HDD and normal trimmings, plus headset and ethernet cable.
Elite is the black XBox 360, coming with the 120GB HDD (and I think with the two extra games, even after the holidays). Oh, and they come with the HDMI ports and etc. Black wireless controller and headset.
I know you know about the Pro and Elite, but I wanted to list 'em anyway.

As for sugestions, I am not a big FPS fan, but as I stated, Rockstar Presents Table Tennis is just insane (then again, the fact that I love Ping-Pong might help
).Oh, and for Live Arcade games, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved is really worth a look.

An Xbox 360 Arcade is $279. A 120GB HDD for the 360 is $200. That's $479, $30 more than the Elite (which also has HDMI and component cables). Though if you're getting the hard drive as a gift I guess that doesn't matter.

Actually, it's $180 at most places now that I look around. Cheaper than what I said (I used Amazon to check and they're charging $193 - though), but still.
EDIT: The Amazon entry is listing from another store. The actual Amazon entry (which is out of stock hence not showing up in my search results) has the retail price at $180 but they're selling it for $155.
