I recommend Mario Galaxy, Paper Mario, both the Trauma centers, Cooking Mama (with friends), and Metroid Prime three.

That should keep you busy.

The ideal choice should be Super Mario Galaxy or Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. I don't play Metroid Prime, but from what I've heard, the third one is very good. I also recommend Fire Emblem, Radiant of Dawn, although if you're in Europe, that's not really an option.

Get guitar hero 3. It's a bit pricey, but it's a lot of fun and has a lot of replay value.

Super Mario Galaxy. That should be your main concern at this moment. It's pretty much, hands down, the best Mario game since Super Mario 64.

Also, if you can get a group of friends together, then buy Mario Party 8. It's still chance based like its predecessors but having three other human players balances out what's otherwise a pretty stacked game.

Also, Super Paper Mario. Despite its departure from the other two PM games, it's still pretty good and easy to get into.

Super Mario Galaxy is a great game for the Mario lover inside you. Its replay value is arguable, but it's a gorgeous game, and I highly recommend getting it.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is a beautiful game, but not very immersive. Get it if you like Zelda, even if you don't necessarily love it, but if adventure games aren't your shtick, then you don't need to pick it up.

Other honorable mentions go to Trauma Center, Warioware, and Zack and Wiki.

...or you could just wait for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the dominator of the video game world.

Pretty much everything I wanted to say has been covered, but try looking for second-hand Gamecube games. Seeing as that thing is dead and buried now, it has a pretty large game library.

I'll give you not only games you should BUY, but also ones you should stay the F**k away from.

Buy:
Pretty much everything on Virtual Console
De Blob (When it comes out, it looks kind of good.)
Destroy all Humans! Big willy unleashed (Again, when it comes out)
Elebits
Endless Ocean (It's kind of boring but just see if you like it, K?)
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (I'm not a huge Fire Emblem fan, but I must admit, this game is fun)
Ghostbusters: The Video Game (When it comes out, although that depends on if the Wii/PS2 version is better than the PS3/PC/DS/360 versions.)
The new Kirby game (When it comes out)
Twilight Princess (So damn awesome, although I still perfer the slanted overhead view style over 3D Zelda.)
Lego Batman: The video game (Buy this when it comes out)
Lego Indiana Jones the videogame (This one too)
Lik's crossbow training (I went a little hard on it when I first got it, but the truth is that it's not so bad. The main problem to me is you could put it in any other game and there is no REAL reason to put it into the Zelda universe. Oh, and also it's very short.)
Mario Kart-Wii(Again, when it comes out, get it.)
Metroid Prime 3
Nights: Journey into dreams
No more heroes (I have to go with GOTA on this one, this game does look kickass.)
One Piece: Unlimited Adventure (What can I say? I love One Piece.)
Ōkami (So the game is just a port, big deal.)
Rayman Raving Rabids(The original)
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
Samba de Amigo (Defenitley buy it! It's a remake of one the best rythm games on the Dreamcast.)
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Paper Mario (Not as good as the other Paper mario games, but still not too shabby)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl(When it comes out)
Surf's Up(Not that bad for a movie title. It's like Mario Kart and the good Tony Hawk games had a baby.)
The two Trauma center games (Really great games)
Wario Ware: Smooth moves (Pretty good.)
We Love Golf! (A Golf game I can actually stand. Plus it has Chun-Li, Apollo Justice, Arthur and Jill Valentine)
Wii Fit (Pretty good.)
Zack & Wiki (Awesome Puzzle game)

Stay away from:
anything made by Data design interactive/Popcorn arcade
Alien Syndrome
Alvin and the Chipmunks
Arctic Tale (First March of the penguins, and now this. WHO THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO MAKE GAMES BASED AFTER DOCUMENTARYS?)
