Because we seriously need to start discussing Disgaea and Rhapsody coming out September 23rd in North America for the Nintendo DS. On top of those two fucking awesome ports with their sweet little updates and bonus content, we also have A Witch's Tale coming out before Christmas.

...And then we have that stale puzzle game Puchi Puchi Virus, but that's only being published by NISA as a quick cash in. They should have translated Jigsaw World: Daigekitou! Jig-Battle Heroes instead.

Hell yes, I'm crazy amped for Disgaea on DS. I bought it on PS2 when it came out allll those years ago, and I got reasonably far, but then I lost my copy ;;. I really enjoyed what I saw of the story and the colorful cast of characters, as well as the amazingly in-depth gameplay. I hope to play the rest of this game when it drops in September.

And also, for those who were wondering, there are really NO sacrifices in quality between the PSP and DS version except for an obviously smaller screen size and a slightly lesser framerate. Voice acting is still there in full. I tested out the Japanese version to be sure, because I was a bit worried about what would be scrapped.

Rhapsody also looks like a game I could spend hours on. I've never been obsessed with RPGs or SRPGs, but it looks like I could trust this one.

Also, the day before these, Kirby SSU comes out. Does that not make for the most epic release week ever?

I already have Disgaea, Disgaea PSP, and Rhapsody and I don't mind have to buy it all over again XD. I wonder how Rhapsody be like when the battling is a normal rpg instead of some tactical field.

I've got Disgaea PSP, Soul Nomad, and La Pucelle. But I've played just about all the SRPGs in N1's library except for Rhapsody, Makai Kingdom, and the Japan-only ones. Watched a playthrough of MK on YouTube though.
I look forward to Disgaea DS and Disgaea 3 with very itchy thumbs.

Rhapsody's coming to the DS? I thought it was just Disgaea.

I remember hiring Disgaea out enough to pay for it, possibly several times over. And then buying it three times, because the discs stopped working. I really need to finish the N1 games sometime. I've seen all the endings, just not on my file.

argh, their stuff is really cool and interesting, but all it ever is is grind grind grind. there is such a thing as too much customization, and its name is disgaea.

then again, maybe it'll be different on a handheld. i have very little in the way of patience for turn-based tactics games on home consoles.
