I got a PSP 3000 Rachet and Clank bundle for Christmas!

The crazy thing was, I was saying things like "WHERES MY STYLUS? Oh wait this is a PSP" :nick:,
I was so amazed to open the gift up to find a PSP inside.

Since I got this new PSP now, does anyone know any really cool games for the PSP?

Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure - KIND of like Kingdom Hearts, except all cutesy and more simple.

Mega Man Powered Up - Classic Mega Man with new chibi 3D graphics, voice acting, and tons of bonus content, including the ability to make your own stages.

Me & My Katamari - Second best Katamari game, with a lot of cousins and songs to unlock. A must for any PSP collection imo.

Sonic Rivals & Sonic Rivals 2 - 2D Sonic games with neck-to-neck racing, similar to the races in Sonic The Hedgehog 2. The stories for both are pretty lame but the level designs and graphics are beautiful and they're a blast to play, with unlockable information about the Sonic series and unlockable costumes.

Tokobot - A very cute and fun platform puzzle game.

Wild Arms XF - The best Wild Arms since Wild Arms 2, it's a unique tactics game which uses a newly shaped grid system.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - Simple and fun hack and slash game with beautiful graphics and animated by the same guys who animated Kingdom Hearts (I think every Square-Enix game should be animated by those guys!). Very decent story, especially if you played Final Fantasy VII.

I deplore how this thread has thus far yet to mention Patapon.

If you are a fighting game fan, some pretty good fighters are out for the PSP.
Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus (JP)
Guilty Gear Judgment w/SLASH (JP)
King of Fighters: Orochi Saga (94-98) (ENG)

There's a select few. But if you want some good games for the PSP, the remake of Final Fantasy 1's pretty good and Worms Open Warfare 2's also a good buy.

I have to agree the DS has some ideas much different than PSP.

When I turned my PSP on the first time I said "Where did I put my stylus? oh wait this is a PSP",
so it seems I like the DS'es styli control. :P

I really love my DS Lite and I dont want to get rid of it.:edgy:

Oh god, the 3000 model. It had a huge hardware issue where there are scan-lines (or something to that effect) across the screen, and Sony refused to fix it up. (This is why I love my PSP-2000, and I will never upgrade it.)

Hopefully yours won't have that problem.

My PSP has a clear screen with no scan-line effects.

I hope it wont start to have that problem...

The first PSP was the PSP-1000, the 'slim' PSP was the PSP-2000, and the newest PSP is the PSP-3000.

Currently, the best one to have is the 2000, despite the 3000 having better hardware, because the 2000 doesn't have the scanlines problem.

The PSP-2000 is named the 'PSP Slim' at Gamestop.

Actually I hate the 2000. It's made out of a very cheap and flimsy plastic... like the plastic gumball capsules are made out of. The UMD door is very poorly designed. It really looks and feels like a fake, pirated version of the PSP and for what's supposed to be a handheld it's extremely worrisome. Tiger handhelds hare made out of better plastic than the 2000 series are. The original PSP was built a lot better in terms of materials and structure, the only flaw being the square button being too close to the screen.

If I had a choice to sit down and play a PSP game, I would rather be holding a 1000 than a 2000 any day at any time. I haven't seen a real life 3000 yet so I have no idea what quality it is.

it's not that huge of an issue overall, it's really dependent on the game being played and the person playing it.

get sid meier's pirates!, rengoku 2, puzzle quest, armored core formula front international (not extreme battle), dracula x chronicles, dungeon maker 2, daisenryaku 7 exceed, and if you're into rpgs there's star ocean and brave story and some other shit. but really it's hard to recommend games when we don't know your taste.

gurumin is pretty fun, although the analog is more with mega man legends than kingdom hearts.

the only good fighter for psp is street fighter alpha 3 max, but seriously fighters are best played on consoles.

if you like crisis core but wish it werent piss easy get monster hunter freedom 2, or wait for mhf unite (2nd g).

oh i forgot about locoroco, that's kind of fun i guess

bendilin post

the only real difference is how well they fit into your hands; some people like a heavy handheld and some people don't. hardware differences are negligible aside from the 2000 took out some stuff to make the battery last longer.

the umd tray on the 2000 is kind of stupid though i will agree
