- The game looks pretty....I guess....., but the movements feel a lot closer to Super Turbo and the Alpha games, which gives it a weird and unnatural flow to it, especially compared to 3rd Strike.

- The initial presentation doesn't feel as dynamic as the latest games out there, especially compared to Tekken and Virtua Fighter. It's just...I dunno, it's just there.

- The gameplay in general feels a bit like the old SF2 games in terms of old tricks, traps, zoning and strategies, but this time with the Focus Attack function. It doesn't exactly make the game super-rushdown friendly or anything, but it does make for some neat juggles and combos via Focus Dash-Cancelling(Dashing during a Focus Attack charge to cancel it). I haven't played through the game enough today, but it's a promising new feature.

All the things that you listed here are all the reasons why I'm sure I'm going to love it! ^__^

RIIIIIISE FROM YOUR GRAAAAAVE

I played Street Fighter IV today at the bus station near my school(it's multi-leveled, and the arcade is on the 7th floor or so). Here are my initial thoughts:

Overall, my first impressions is that this game could've been better. It feels a bit rushed, but hopefully they'll patch it up with revisions like Virtua Fighter and whatnot. I'm currently playing Crimson Viper, but I have no clue how to play her, heh. Hopefully I can get better with her.

Thanks, pretty much how I expected to turn out. Now I wonder if Capcom will release new editions or simply throw us some patches.

Considering SF4 is online in the arcades, I'm sure there will be revisions and such, at least to fix some of the possibly broken stuff(already, people are complaining about Rufus and his dive kick).

Bumping, as the console release of the game ever grows closer.

Who's preordering?

I probably will be. I'll probably end up preordering the special edition. This is one that actually seems worth it; for $80 you get The game, a movie, an action figure, the soundtrack, and some other crap they haven't announced yet.

Feb. 17th. it's hyping me up to know that I got to hang with the guy voicing Ryu. Muwhahaha. I also played him in Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Anyways, SF4's going to be great for the 360, namely because of the fact that we also get more characters than the arcade versions.

As soon as I have the cash, I'm preordering for PC.

Thanks for that, gotta say I forgot about this topic.
I myself will be getting the PS3 version at Day 1... But I'm not sure which edition to get. Guess it depends on how good that anime movie is (won't be as good as Street Fighter II's I bet).

I don't really see how many people can call the first Street Fighter garbage, sure some of the effects during the fighting wasn't the best, and that Van Damme was playing an AMERICAN fighter, but still. Although if you think about it, there are several non-american people in america are citizens who have such noticeable accents, but nonetheless. Raul Julia was pretty awesome as M.Bison. You have to agree with me on that. And it still added some humour.
