Deadly Creatures is a game that recently came out on the Wii. You play as either a spider or a scorpion and have to survive in an environment full of various insects and predators while following a narrative about two guys looking for gold buried in the desert.

I picked this game up yesterday, and it's great. The agile, stealth-based gameplay of the Spider and the tank-like gameplay of the scorpion give the game a nice variety, and the feeling of being a tiny creature is well expressed with the detailed environments and the soundtrack. The controls work pretty well, and the motions you have to do, while plentiful, don't feel forced or take away from the experience.

If there's anything negative I can say about the game, it's probably the camera; it tends to get stuck in close quarters, and sometimes refuses to reset behind you. That, and the game is pretty short.

I recommend this game to anyone with a Wii, and isn't afraid of insects.

Hmm...Sounds interesting.

I'll probably give it a rent when I have the time and money. :redd:

I've been looking forward to this since I first heard about it over a year ago. Can't wait to play it.

I figure this'll be my "Spring Break game".

I'd buy it, except, y'know, I'm short on cash and SF4 hits next week.

And I just love this Scorpion outtake video:

The reviews on this game seem to be pretty solid.

I finished the game today and I have to say, while it was short, it was an increadibly fun ride. The later levels are quite expansive and varied from the desert setting, including a junkyard and a gas station. The ending is rather poor, not in a story sense, but in a way that it's very obvious where the staff ran out of money and/or rushed to complete the game. The final boss fight is quite unique, almost worth playing the whole game for.

The game has a few shortcomings, but the fun gameplay and great level design more than make up for them. If the game was a little longer and had a better ending, it could probably be a contender for game of the year, but for what its worth it's still a pretty good game.
