Alright, this thread to to (obviously) share some of the most fun or best time you had playing video games with other people!
Heck, if you had a blast with other people while doing it, I'm cool with you guys sharing stories about playing a single-player game with a bunch of other people (either taking turns and/or backseat gaming, whatever)
And I hope there isn't already a topic like this, I checked back to page 4, but I could have missed it...

I'd figure I'd start off by giving the story that inspired me to make this thread in the first place.
Important thing to note, is that I have a lot of this stuff simply because I never sell my old equipment, even if I'm never going to use it any more, I'm a bit of a packrat.

I had some buddies over to crash at my place since it would be easiest to get to the Magic tournament that was early (ish) the next day from my house. Anyways we decided to play some Crystal Chronicles (Gamecube version BTW) while they were over, so they all brought over their GBAs and one of them brought a link cable because I had two.

Now, normally, I'm a big fan of Nintendo's hardware, as it's fairly durable and good quality, however, in my opinion, their gamecube-GBA cables are not very good. While they will link up just fine, it's not very secure and can come unlinked if you move them too much, not good for a controller. It also turns out, that one of my friends GBA won't link up at all, so I lend him my SP, and my off-brand cable. Now, because I'm a good host, it looks like I'm going to be stuck with a crappy cable, and my non-SP. It's at that point I realize that my Gamecube has a gameboy player, and I have an old TV in the basement. So, we end up playing CC on the wii, using the two off-brand cables for the two GBAs, and I end up using my old TV for my GBA screen, since the gamecube isn't moving, the old cable works perfectly.

So, after all this, we start a new game, and have to watch the opening cinematic, which was cute when I fist saw it 4 years ago, and now is just obnoxious, but after that we finally get to character creation. Naturally we picked our family professions based on what would actually be useful later. Once we got started it really rocked! Rather then screwing over each other's bonus we realized that we get better artifacts when we get higher bonus, so the fact that everyone could see my screen was actually helpful as whatever radar I had helped everyone without me having to tell them what it was. Since we didn't care if the others new our bonus it gave us a fair way to decide who had to carry the Chalice, if you didn't need your hands free for the bonus, you got it. We ended up getting to year 2 (that's three dungeons) before we even remembered to save our progress. By the time we were too tired to play anymore, we got part-way through year 4 (10 dungeons total not even counting the times we got out-matched and died/ran away). It was so awesome that we decided that we'd have to meet up for the sole purpose of continuing our game another time!

I have to say, CC is an okay one player game, not much better with two players (as you lose your helper mogle) but the three player game had to be the best co-operative game experience I have ever played, even with the same people. I really want to hear about your awesome experiences.

I'd certainly agree with FFCC, it had been one of my favourite GC games as a one player experience, but after playing it on four player I was blown away, (I only played it once on four player) much more fun that Nintendo's own four swords adventures. It's a real shame that the game couldn't have used GC controllers in multiplayer, just so it would have been much easier to play.

Pokemon R/S/E would be one of my choices as well, it's simple link multiplayer was the standard affair, but trading data with tons of other people meant your map would be full of hidden bases, allowing easy exp and fighting friends whenever you wanted.

Lastly Wario ware for the GC, the single player was awful, but the amusing multiplayer games like the turtle balance, ask the doctor and the balloon popping game all bring back good memories.

Timesplitters 2 and 3 were always great for me to play with friends. We were always setting people alight on Mexican Mission, and people would all run to the fountain to get rid of it. And on the ice level, one of us would always man the gun and we'd try to take said person down all together with rocket launchers and grenades...we gave that tower in the middle a complete makeover! :D

I also did both of the games co-op with a friend, now, THAT was fun.

Perfect Dark and Goldeneye have been lots of fun for me and friends with their multiplayer modes, and Conker's Bad Fur Day as well. Same with Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing.

And what else...oh yes, the Smash Bros games. Endless amount of enjoyment there with friends.

Let me see.....For me the games really were Red Faction, The abilty to blow up everything i sight and make your own way was awesome. Turn on a bunch of bots and watch them fall in you and your friends giant trench and just watch them trying to get up was great!

Super Smash Brothers Series...Do I truly need to explain them?

Kirby Air Ride, Such Simple controls result in such great multiplayer as everyone can pick it up and play.

The Older James Bond Games. Those were so fun.

Ah, I have a wonderful memory of the one time I played Four Swords Adventures (for the GC) in multiplayer.

Somehow, we managed to make it through the entire game, despite the fact that half our number seemed to delight more in picking other up and throwing them into pits/bombs rather than progressing in the game. When the other two of us got fed up with them, hilarity ensued.

I think we took a break at some point and played the battle mode so we could get all our desires to kill each other out of our systems. XD

This same group tried playing through Crystal Chronicles once, but alas, we were never able to finish (and now we've all gone our separate ways so it's never going to happen.)

I really wish there were more cooperative multiplayer games out there. The two I mentioned involved the use of the GBA attachment cables, which were often difficult to get everyone set up for and would cause the GBAs to run out of batteries after a while and have to be recharged. (We were all using SPs or DSs at the time).

I don't play multiplayer games very often, but they are fun. ^_^

The most I've played with multiplayer was when my dad's (then) girlfriend's daughter was living at my dad's place. We played Super Smash Bros. Melee and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! all the time. It was challenging for both of us, because I usually beat her at SSBM, but she could totally kick my ass at Mario Kart. XD

I play DDR with other people at arcades and stuff, but I'm not sure if that really counts.

Last year I was briefly a member of my school's video game club. They had SSBM and a whole bunch of other games, but sometimes this guy would bring over this Naruto game that was never released in America. That was A LOT of fun. :D

And finally, a few weekends ago I was at a friend's house and she had Rock Band. Since we were pretty much the only people in the house, we played with guitar-bass and guitar-drums combos. It was so cool! I can't imagine how fun it would be when all four parts of the band are playing together. I've got to do that sometime!

The first time I played Counter-Strike Source, and the following couple of months. Im not sure what it was, but once I started (I sucked big-time too), I just couldn't stop. I sat there playing it for hours on end, playing absolutely nothing else, aiming to get better at the game. Eventually I found a particular server, and I stuck with it, favourited and I never played any other server. The server records say I logged over 100 hours of play on that single server, which impressed me.

Anyway, I kept playing this server (CS_Italy 24/7, it was brill, still got it in my favourites and its still the only server I play), and soon I began to recognise server regulars. We all knew each other yet were still pretty competitive and not really friendly, we recognised one another yet we were there to play for fun. I must of picked the wrong server since everyone on there owned me, but I kept playing... getting better and better. I just have very fond memories of those couple of months, including when I got 4 kills with a single nade, and when a moderator had a bit of a fun match with us. He took all our money and weapons from us, gave every player 1 health, and infinitely spawned grenades across the map. Completely against the normal game rules but no one complained, it was a right laugh and everyone enjoyed it. I dunno what happened but I began to play less and less, which is a shame really. I felt I belonged to that server, I never touched any other server or game at all for those few weeks, and I learnt a ton of tricks for CSS and CS_Italy, I became pretty good at it. I've played it a little bit recently, and whilst Im still pretty good, it seems most people have moved on from that server. Good times though.

Me and my friends have also had some pretty epic times on Smash Bros Melee (I think the hours we logged on this game is probably the reason why we got bored of Brawl in a week). It was the same three players, myself and two of my friends, and we would play as often as possible. It was always close though, we could never tell who would actually win, we always played Stock with 5 lives and a single CPU at level 9 (they were easy anyway). Both of my friends had the game and they were always playing it to get better, and I think we fared better from it since we were all as good as each other, each with our own main characters (mine was Ness, one friends Link, and the other Marth). We always played it at my house since we were always allowed, and I had the best save file (I have done that game 100%, quite literally). According to the records Melee has had a power time of around 300 hours, 200 or so spent in Melee mode. Whilst I can't say thats how many hours I spent playing with my friends, we definitely did over 100.

Unfortunately when Brawl came out we just weren't interested. We had real fun for a week (especially using our old mains again) on all the new levels and the like, but we just got bored. And Final Destination in Brawl sucks (its like, half the size of FD in Melee), and now I've sold the Wii we probably wont play together again. I still have a Cube and my copy of Melee, complete with my ace file, but I doubt we'll play it again. Still, good fun times, especially when playing Tournament mode with my sister (if she ever beat one of us we would be ashamed for weeks).
Streets ahead.

I loved going on melee but brawl is so much better.
I had amazing fun on melee. I am amazing at using Peach and I used to do the black hole glitch with my mates. So much fun ^_^

Me and my friend were playing on Practice Mode on Brawl with two Jigglypuffs on the Bridge of Eldin.

We did the Jigglypuff hugeness glitch. We made a poison mushroom appear for the regular Jigglypuff, and a Super mushroom appear for huge Jigglypuff. In the end, we got a picture of The tiny Jigglypuff floating up in front of the giant Jiggly's mouth. It was a perfect fit.

Woop first post! :edgy:

Clearly Goldeneye, Complex, first to 50 kills on Man With the Golden Gun.

Me and my brothers played this on a 32" widescreen. Going after the golden gun armed only with Klobbs. Classic stuff.

Facility?

My brother worked out a way to get back up into the vents. I think it was a glitch or something. So que man with the golden gun, him hiding in the vents, everyone else trying to take him down from the toilets. :damon:

I love playing Halo 3 online. There's just so many differnent games and achievements and armour etc... and it's great doing co-op cuz then its a hell of a lot easier to help each other nick the enemies' flag.

I'm going to be honest here and also say that the best, non-childhood related multiplayer experience came out of Gears and Gears 2 co-op.

If you can get four people together that can all play Expert-Nightmare level on their instrument, Rock Band 2 is a fucking blast.
If you come across an older post of mine, sowwy

Back in 2003-05 my friends and I would get together at one of our houses and play Halo all night long. There were 3 internet-connected Xboxes in that house. We'd all be playing from 3 different rooms, either team or free for all. Every time one would argue over the score or accuse someone of cheating. It was really fun. We called them "Halo Fests".
