Plus $70? No thanks.

I don't just edit my neighborhood... I insert other Sims that i made into the game!

Also, the graphics are somewhat good on my sister's computer, which is the only one that can run it, due to it being the only one with a GeForce 6200 video card, and it's not bad. It loads long... but it runs perfectly!

I've seen so many "Oh in five months there'll be so much CC to download.

I just don't think you guys get it. It takes awhile from the start of a new game, plus EA made it really freaking hard to make custom content as compared to the Sims 2. The farthest we've gotten are hacks, and even then those are from the most experienced members of our community. EA doesn't like it's CC makers. They didn't even give us a "downloads" folder, so we had to go through a cockamamey process just to get the small amounts of CC into your game. I'm not sure how long it'll take to get SimPE running for Sims 3 either.

So, just don't assume we have magical CC creation powers :)

Also, never, EVER, EVER use TSR or the Exchange, use the following sites:

YES! A FELLOW CC PIRATE!

I got the Companion Cube end table, the Zero Suit Samus from that site. I HATE TSR.

Also careful people you want to go onto MTS with Firefox...it freezes FF for some reason. (at least to me.)

I haven't experienced it myself, are you using Firefox 3? I don't know if it does it with FF2, I haven't used it since 3 came out.

MTS's only issue is every since their main server died however long ago, downloads go fairly slow.

Oh really? could you be more specific as to the sub-sites?

I was having problems with MTS2 crashing Firefox, and supposedly installing the NoScript addon for Firefox fixes the crashing problem. It's been working perfectly for me since I started using NoScript ... it's a bit of a hassle to have to manually allow scripts whenever I'm on a site that has scripts that I actually NEED to run, but at least MTS2 doesn't crash anymore. =P

On the topic of Sims 3, I want it soooo bad. But my laptop doesn't even run TS2 so that's out of the question, and my parent's computer runs TS2 fine but has been really slow since I installed University, so I can pretty much guarantee it won't run TS3 without even having to check it's specs. But I've seen some friends play it, and it looks really fun. Once I get a new laptop (aka in like a year) I'll probably pick up a copy ... hopefully the price will have gone down a bit too? ;]

I'm sure that it'll just take some time once people find different ways to create custom content. I don't know how quick it was for TS2 because I didn't even know about CC's until about a year or so ago. Just be patient for more EP's..

But anyways, those sites are like, my all time favorites, especially Paysites Must be Destroyed :will:

The only CC site I ever used was MTS. I just liked their content more. Besides, I got an Assassin career. How awesome is that?

Anyway, I saw that there's a downloads folder for TS3. I was trying to get the extra neighborhood EA promised us. It's not going so well, but then again my Intrawebz connection is kinda crap most of the time, so...

No, no downloads folder as far as I'm aware (though I've essentially shelf'd the game for now).

For those of you who really want the CC (mostly hacks), the most efficient way to install CC into your game is to use the TS3 Installer Monkey from Mod the Sims here.

Don't get me wrong, I love Shakespeare, I just hate it when everyone copies Romeo and Juliet and it gets so redundant =.=

And it only costs $70 when you get the collectors edition, the norm game with no added bonuses is just $55

So, how about the official custom content crashed my game?!

I wanted a decent ponytail, it was free, I was already downloading the extra neighborhood, so I downloaded it. It kept crashing and worked fine when I took the ponytail out of my game.

I love this game. It was only £30 (about $50?) on Amazon a little while after release, so I snatched it right up.

It's not that difficult to install CC, actually. I did it the manual way, but I heard the Installer Monkey is really easy to use too. Here is the tutorial.

The only thing I find a little disappointing is, as mentioned before, the lack of CC. I've seen some, but it's a lot harder to make than it was for Sims 2, so I'm not expecting much.

That said, I adore this game. I love the new style of gameplay, the look of the whole thing, the little easter eggs you find now and then... it's awesome. :will:

I had the same problem for a while. Here's the deal:

When you start up Sims, go onto your existing save file as usual.
Go to the options (...) and select "Edit Town".
There will be a small button on the dock; "Change household", or something to that effect. I'm too lazy to check exactly. xD
When clicked, it gives you the choice of creating a new family, selecting one from the Sim bin or choosing a different household to control.

I hope this helps. :)

Yeah I guess it's not a bad game for newcomers to the series, but until they make some massive changes Sims 2 > Sims 3
