Yeah I do agree that they should stop making new characters and work on developing already existing characters...But I did like Silver.

Yeah I do agree that they should stop making new characters and work on developing already existing characters...But I did like Silver.
Well I suppose I can't judge him until I've played with him but I just think they'd already pulled the 'super hedgehog' ploy once before with Shadow and I REALLY want them to go back to old rivals like Knuckles and maybe make Eggman a serious villain again XD.
Though Blak I'm pretty sure Sega said the Super forms are a direct call out to DBZ's Super Saiyans.
Hell I even had a dream once where Super Sonic and Super Shadow did DBZ's fusion dance.

This is why i get turned off by newer Sonic games...Bad story telling.
I may have never played Sonic 06 but I have seen the over the top story. *sigh*
But I heard Sonic Generations is better because it is more about fun then storyline.

Heartwrenching sort of constitutes sad.
Therefore you do get why people find it sad. Why do you ask the question? Sure it's a bit awkward with the rocking out but then his ultimate death and weird little afterlife sequence is pretty sad.

It's the rocking out that sticks to me more than the sad part.
It's just a weird thing to see, like a sudden Mood Whiplash that comes out of nowhere and leaves me feeling confused, rather than sad or whatever I'm supposed to feel at the scene. It's like you're in a hospital with an ill patient and suddenly a clown comes bursting in, doing somersaults and blowing loud obnoxious trumpets, throws confetti into your face and making a fart sound before rushing out the door, leaving you in complete stunned silence, despite having had a very serious conversation beforehand.

Yes I understand that and it is weird but you said you never understood why people saw it as sad. Then you immediately described part of the death scene as heart-wrenching which is a more powerful adjective for sad.
Therefore....you do get why it was sad...it has a weird part but ultimately you DO get it.

I can interpret it as "The Tragic Jester". He's on his deathbed, yet he manages to convey his message to Link in the best way that's suited for him. He goes out doing the thing that made him who he was. At least he's not a pansy who just keels over and dies without doing anything. Any character that does that deserves death.
