Ehh, I found Hourglass to be meh myself, not particularly outstanding, but that's my opinion. But Linebeck will always be awesome.

I loved Linebeck BECAUSE he was annoying and weird. He was comic relief without being overtly comedic, just being a cowardly jerk. But you are correct, the pirate chick was annoying. "HERE'S SOME MONEY I'VE KEPT IN MY POCKET ALL ALONG, KID!"

I also shared the pleasure of defeating her, though I never saw the point in it. I'll admit though, I nearly had a heart attack when I heard the fairy (forget its name, Ciel-something?) shout 'HEY!" for the first time.

A 6-episode anime that ran on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim for WAY TOO LONG. (Was still awesome)
The person I'm mentioning had eyebrows slightly bigger than Rock's, but they were really made out of seaweed.

I'd have to say a couple of games I was really quite fond with growing up were Kirby's Adventure and Link's Awakening. Just simple straight "get into" kind of games that were just pure mindless fun. They got a good story across without forcing it all upon you in a way to where it took away from the gameplay. Yeah, these are mainstream, but these games really brought something that you could just easily get into. And although I find some of the newer games fun, I have yet to really see anything that can compare to gems such as these.

But OT and all, I do agree with you. Kirby's Adventure, along with most of the Kirby games, were some of my personal favorites. I do believe I still have some working copies, though I haven't seen them in years.

Kirby 64 was also really fun, though I've never actually owned a copy. Always used giant 'sharp objects' kirby. (Two needles, all kinds of crap comes out of him. A cactus, pair of scissors, bee stinger, etc.)
I also played Dr. Mario, though I haven't touched it in years. (May get the Wiiware version, after I fulfill all my other gaming wants)

the sharp objects Kirby was pretty fun too, ...
