Well I'm looking forward to MM's remake and I doubt anyone would complain about a remake, it's not like they are reinventing anything (which would result in folks complaining about it being changed) it's just prettying things up to bring it to a new generation.

I'd quite like to pick it up since I missed it originally and I've heard good things, some folks claiming it's the best one.

Is it even sure that MM is getting a full remake? Only thing mentioned was the HD Remaster - and HD ain't all it's cracked up to be. I guess MM is a fun game, but I mostly gave up. What's the point of doing this stuff to help people when I can whisk it away with one time-return? Feels pointless.

My bad wrong choice of words, yes I think it is an HD remaster though they are adding some extra features to it. To date I only know of one where you can send messages in bottles to other people but there might be more.

Though it's more the case of I didn't play it when it was out. I don't normally support this trend of 'slap HD on it and sell it again full price'.

What are you guys talking about? There isn't any new about a possible MM remake. There is only the WW HD remake.

Ah, I see. xP

If I remember correctly, they're adding some features to make it more streamlined, like a faster sail and shorter times for treasure hunting. (For the WW remake, I mean.)

No. It's definitely Link x Marin forever. It'd be interesting to explore their relationship further and question how one must procreate with a seagull to continue to keep the bloodline of the hero intact. Then, you get your end result: The Rito in Wind Waker.

I think Hatoful Boyfriend might answer that. Not in the first one, but hopefully in the 3rd game, Star Project?

As for LinkxMarin, Eh, she was kind of a Zelda-knock-off anyway. The rest I'm not commenting on for the sole fact that I do not support LinkxZelda - for one, it's a total cliché of Knight-gets-Princess and for another, if Link and Zelda constantly got together in every game, we'd get inbreeding.
Which was done in middle ages for keeping the bloodline pure and... yeah that caused crap to happen.

Cabanela, I can hear the 'hardcore Majora's Mask fans' raging at the idea of remaking MM. It was so perfect to begin with after all, even the graphics.

Well there no reason to rage look how good the remake for ocarina of time was on the 3DS if they do it like that then there is no worry for making a majora's mask remake

I do have to rage a bit at the Ocarina 3DS redone graphics. Yeah they are updated and all, but what happened to the ReDeads? In the N64/GC version, they looked like nothing more than brown corpses. In the 3DS version, they look ... like brown-colored skeletons with wooden masks on them. That's not scary, that's actually laughable. And I still cannot recognize skulls as being the ground or in the walls when fighting the Deadhand.

I am glad, though, that they changed Ruto's scales. Now she looks like she's in a bathing suit, but at least I don't have downwards-pointing flat diamonds as boobs shoved into my face all the time. And why did they have to decrease the looseness of Child!Zelda's top? I dunno why people thought those were supposed to be boobs, I mean, I always figured it was just a piece of cloth strung over her, tied around her upper waist (an empire or princess waistline) and loose at the top.

As for making WW's sailing shorter, well I hope they remove about 20 islands off the map to make it shorter. About that amount of islands was useless, even for sidequests or collecting stuff.

I'm only going off a hunch here, but I felt that the redesign for the ReDead was more of an artistic style choice to match up with how the Spooky Mask looks (the one you give to the kid in Kakariko Graveyard). I didn't like their redesign at first myself, but when I connected these two together, it made more sense to me and now I like it. I don't recall the mask and the enemy looking similar in the original, but with this change, it makes sense. The Spooky Mask is supposed to frighten and scare others and what could be more scary than a ReDead? Again, this is just my logic coming from a hunch.

I'd honestly welcome a Majora's Mask remake on the 3DS if Greezo went with it. I really enjoyed what they did to OoT and it helped to breath a bit of fresh air into a game that I felt was getting a little stale to me. Don't get me wrong, I still love the game, but I've played it so many times.

Hmm... shit-colored brown-colored mask out of wood and brown-colored ReDeads... definitely sounds like they look the same. And the Spooky Mask never striked fear into anyone, so putting that onto a redesigned ReDead made them a laughing stock.
And I already laughed when they face humped Link to death.

Link to the Past was good? Mh... I admit, I never finished it. I didn't get the Pearl before being sent to the Dark World, so I had to go back to the dungeon, get it and then managed to get myself stuck on the mountain. (I only used savestates, I totally forgot that saving and re-loading the game has Link appear at his house...) But I found Link to the Past to be really stale. There was nothing for me to do except get lost, yes I got lost at times cause I didn't know where I was going, fight monsters, go into a dungeon, fight monsters and proceed to the next dungeon.

Sure, Zelda is generally a dungeon-to-dungeon game, but Link to the Past seemed to be lacking in sidequests or other stuff I could do before proceeding to the next dungeon.

There's a couple minigames, but that's about it. LttP is more about exploring the world and finding neat stuff yourself.

Besides, you're supposed to be saving the kingdom, not goofing off :chinami:

Like I said, the Spooky Mask thing was just a hunch. The whole striking fear bit was the whole reason the kid wanted it in the first place. So he could be like Dampe, who in himself was creepy as well.

I just looked on the Zelda wiki as well and their theory on the mask related to the ReDeads also make sense to me and it doesn't seem too far off of what I thought. The Lake Hylia scientist says its a mask carved from a wooden coffin and combining with the fact that ReDeads wear them, it's assumed to be some kind of Hylian burial mask, which I think is somewhat interesting.

Of course when you go from a low polygon count to a remake of a much higher resolution, of course things with globular faces are going to look different.

Also, looking at the original artwork for ReDeads, seems they were meant to wear masks anyways, but they couldn't really render it well on the N64.

I did the exact same thing when I played ALttP. I almost gave up then as well. What really made me stop playing was what you said about there being nothing to do. The game felt bland and there was nothing interesting in the world. Once you've explored everywhere, which doesn't take long, it loses that feeling of adventure - something I love in The Legend of Zelda series.

Also, I hated the dungeons. Maybe they were good at the time, but now they don't compare to recent dungeons.

Okay, just a general question to anyone who played Skyward Sword.

Did you have trouble with the controls?
If you did, how badly?
And how is your Wii and Sensor Bar setup?

Cause people keep saying they had suuuuuch trouble with the controls and the controls suuuuuuuuuck because they had such trouble using them. Whiny brats. I never had any trouble with the controls. The only one I had trouble with was the Stab move and once I figured that out, it was okay. The game followed the way I moved my wrist, I played the game several times and never had a problem with them.

And I sit hunched over about a meter away from the sensor bar, one of my windows has blinds down on it and the TV is not in any direct sunlight. So I do not have light pollution fucking with the sensor bar or anything like that. I just want to see if I'm really the only person who does not have trouble with the controls.

I was fine except for the Ghirahim battles (until I figured out I could stun him with shield bashing) and flying (not as smooth as it could have been but wasn't that big an issue except for that fucking timed mission where you had to hit the targets).

My room also has thick shades to block out all outside light, although I'm a little more than three feet from the TV when I play.

I had some big issues with my setup for about 60% of the game; I was always having to resync the controller and swing in a certain way to make Link swing. It made the game significantly less enjoyable for that portion. The problem wasn't with the game; it was simply that I was too far away from the screen and the furniture arrangement wasn't suited for looking directly at the TV since I very rarely ever played Wii games that required motion controls. Eventually I just took a footstool and moved up closer to the screen and the game played amazingly well. I've never heard of "light pollution" before, but there was always direct sunlight shining on the TV and sensor bar so maybe that had something to do with my problems.

So I don't think SS had any control problems. I think the problems came from the fact that some people (including me) just didn't have our living rooms set up to be a gaming/motion-controlled-centric room.
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

Light pollution sounds like a poor excuse, but a lot of light in the room - and especially if it shines onto the sensor bar - can screw with the sensor a lot. Especially in SS where they use Gyro rather than the Pointer.

If people think their room isn't set up in a way that makes them play games decently, simple solution: Change the furniture arrangement slightly or do what you did: grab a stool, chair or similar and just plunk yourself closer or better positioned in front of the bar.

But no, the people complaining all say the controls simply suck because... they say they suck. Even if they say they have to recalibrate the WiiMote entirely (ie. Unplugging the Nunchuck, going through the calibration of the + Adapter) all the time, they pretty much ignore it if other players tell them, "You know, that sounds more like your WiiMote is kaputt, rather than the controls"

The flying controls were troublesome? I guess they can be... I mean, you knew how to fly the bird, you just don't think it was all that smooth in terms of execution. I can understand that. The levias battle is not one of my preferred ones...
Although worst I encountered up to now are people who make topics, saying they don't know how or why their loftwing is flying so freaking low in the sky. Despite there being a tutorial for flying in the game...

People say they don't need tutorials, they don't need any "hand holding" and then they say they have no idea how to freaking fly in this game... Idiots. :yuusaku:

I don't think anything is wrong with the sensor's in the controller or the sensor bar. I remember my friend didn't have a sensor bar so we used a candle as a replacement and it actually worked :keiko: I never found a issue with the loftwing controls in skyward swords, people just need to admit they suck :hotti:

Yeah, I meant the plot and soundtrack and graphics and such... I can't really say a peep about controls, even though I hear everywhere that they are pretty finicky.

I think people (myself included) just suck at moving. Either we have sucky reflexes, like when we want a second right slash the movement (too slow or fast) to prepare the seond blow is counted. Like Right slash-my hand go to toward the left to prepare the second right slash- SUCK NO I DIDNT WANT A LEFT SLASH DUM--- You get the point. Or we just don't react fast enough or too fast for the machine to count it. Like we I do 5 move in extreme speed but the wii take only the first the third and the fourth movement DAR--- you get the point. Yeah not every gamer train or whatever so they do not like when the thing they are good at require more muscle coordination than their thumbs and just past the frustration on the game.

I saw an LP of it myself and overall it looks very fun and interesting. Not a fan of motion controls, but I may give it a shot one day. Fi does seem annoying with the whole percentage thing, but it's minor. The story seems pretty neat, though it does feel like it gets a little weak towards the end. Some of the bosses look amazing. I'm a bit upset that Ghirahim seems to be a reoccurring boss, but it looks entertaining enough with practicing the motion controls so I'm willing to overlook it too. Zelda does seem pretty useless throughout most of the game and Demise seems just like a boring generic villain. Also, the repeating boss fight with the sealed demon in the forest just seems like a pain.

Overall though, the game looks quite fun and definitely seems like its worth a try. Sure there seems to be some tedious stuff thrown here and there which I think could have been done away with. They had some great ideas that may not have been implemented well everywhere, but it's enough to get me interested. Seems a lot better than Twilight Princess so that's a plus for me. I do love the colorful environments.

It is... I understand when people say they dislike the parts of the game because the Imprisoned gets battled in pretty much all three segments of the game. First time around it was kind of fun to fight him, afterwards it was just annoying. Adding arms or the ability to fly does not make the battle better.

That's actually the one reason why I don't like attempting the Water Dragon segment of the Song of the Hero, although it focuses on Tadtones, my favorite part in the game. I just don't want to fight the Imprisoned beforehand... and the music of that part is also a cacophany in my ears. One of the two times in the game where I mute the TV.

Oh Nintendo. Hyrule (high-rule) and Lorule (low-rule). You're so clever. =)

*facepalm*

Although this makes me think how I always pronounced Hyrule as "Heerüle" yeah with a Ü sound. I'm German. I have those sounds in my head and I'll use them.

Link Between Worlds may hold info on status of a Majora's Mask 3D remake.

It really, really is, but I'll take straw-graspy over nothing at all any day.

Hmm, Zelda and Hilda?

Either they're referencing Sabrina the Teenage Witch or maybe I've watched too much sitcoms in my day...

Yes, Link Between Worlds is out next week!

If anyone is curious about reviews, IGN gave it a 9.4 and GameInformer have it a perfect 10.

Anyone planning on getting it?

I dunno... it looks like Link to the Past, but in 3D and considering I wasn't that big of a fan of Link to the Past to begin with... Although I do find it hilarious that the two princesses are called Hilda and Zelda. Come on, somebody already made a Sabrina - the Teenage Witch joke on tumblr about that.

I'm probably not getting it. Don't really like the art style, and I'm not a big fan of aLttP, so...

After the disappointment of the last two NDS games, I don't have much hope for this game. Though I could be wrong. It might be amazing, so I suppose I'll get it eventually. I'm not as hyped as I usually am for a Zelda game. The new WiiU Zelda is far more exciting and hopefully they'll announce it soon. I can't stand the wait.

I've actually been reading a lot of positive reviews on this game and how they're implementing the whole item and dungeon system. I honestly didn't have high hopes for this game at first myself, but now I'm actually getting excited for this game. I'm really hoping this is one of those good experimental titles that doesn't follow the formula, which I categorize Adventure of Link and Majora's Mask into. I probably won't get it at launch, but I gather I'll play it sooner or later.

Okay, just a general question to anyone who played Skyward Sword.

Did you have trouble with the controls?
If you did, how badly?
And how is your Wii and Sensor Bar setup?

My general SS playing consists of "STAB. STAB! NO, STAB! WHY WON'T YOU FUCKING STAB?! ... SLASH?! WHEN DID I TELL YOU TO SLASH?!"
Never in a Zelda game beofre have I been so close to dying in the very first dungeon, and it's only because of the controls. It's infuriating to keep taking damage from an enemy, one you know how to kill, but the controls are what's screwing you around. Even the freaking goblins with the electric things. If I'm holding the remote to the left, and I need to slash right to left to get a hit on, finding the right speed in which to switch position, but not so fast it thinks you're slashing left to right is.... ARRRRRGH.

tl;dr - I had much trouble, but it's still a cool game.

The slingshot is your best friend with them. Slingshot them and slash 'em while they're dazed. As for the controls, well I personally had trouble stabbing myself, but once I got it down (it's like a really bad forward twitch for me) the controls worked fine for me. Heck, I love the controls, more fun than button mashing.

Ahhh I see, thanks for the tip.
I think the main reason the controls are hard for me is because Skyward Sword isn't a game I've played much of, and like all things in life, practice at it and you'll get better and used to it. Something I've not done because I'm too much of a lazy bitch.

My all time favourite Zelda has to be Ocarina of Time. I have fond memories of playing it with my parents, N64 was magical to me at the time haha. All these new "3D" graphics and polygons, coming from ALTTP to OoT was just a brilliant feeling. OoT is, I think, the only game I've bothered to play through more than once. The 3DS remake is great too, I love it.
