Whew, it's been a while. I haven't picked up a mainstream Pokemon game since Ruby, and I never got that far through emu (test) plays of Platinum or White. I've yet to even try Pokemon X or Y. I have tried spinoff games like Mystery Dungeon, but I had enough since I finished my Time version a few years ago.

But OR and AS have rekindled my love for these games. Hoenn was the first region I started with, and Mudkip my first choice. There's no way I'm skipping out on the news this time. Hopefully, when it comes out, I'd be able to catch myself a copy.

Give it Electrify. It should outspeed many threats that don't have priority, and sap up the attack. Perfect for double battles; it'd work better in doubles anyhow. Talonflame wrecks everything in singles.

Out of nostalgia, though, I think I'm still sticking with Swift Swim Mega-pert.

Okay let me tell you about Mega Sceptile..... This guy has a Christmas tree for the tip of his/her tail (depending on what gender you get) He will swing around and slap the shit out of any small Pokemon and knock you off your feet.

Here's the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire trailer showed at Nintendo's E3 livestream.

It looks incredible, although I'm still not sure what to feel about the redesigns. Oh well, I see no reason as to why the playable characters shouldn't be customizable, so I guess I shouldn't worry.

It would make no sense for them to remove that feature for whatever reason I can think of. I'm not very knowledgeable about the process behind these things, but shouldn't character customization be fairly easy to to include in this game as well? I mean, it's already been made in X and Y, and it's not something that require balance.

Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself since I don't really like the redesign of the protagonists.

Character Customisation was stereotypically appropriate for X and Y because Kalos is Poke-France and they wanted to play up the French Fashion Culture aspect of it (especially with all that disgusting talk about 'style').

While true, and I thought about that myself, is that really enough of a reason to remove it? Wouldn't it be relatively simple to just do a copy paste?

It is simple remodeling, but I wouldn't call it "copy-paste". I'm sure they'd opt for a different line of character designs, given the new characters. It certainly wouldn't be as diverse as with Kalos, but they can bring back customization. After all, the Poke-Contests of 3rd gen definitely have room for expansion. Imagine customization not only for trainers, but also for Pokemon. I didn't spent that much time on contests back then, but I never got into contests from 4th gen on. They've become like extra Game Corners of minigames in a way.

Unrelated, but I'm looking forward to the post-game extras of this remake. That Black-Omen-like cloud on the new Hoenn map really intrigues me. I think it has to do with the Sky Tower from Pokemon Emerald. Remember how Rayquaza popped out from a dark thundercloud in the opening of Emerald, with its body a-glow?

Yeah, I noticed that. But, if I recall correctly, in Pokémon Emerald,
Spoiler: Spoilers for those who haven't played Pokémon Emerald
Rayquaza ended the fight between Groudon and Kyorge.

Though I wonder what prehistoric Rayquaza might look like... Hmmm...

We might have to find out in Pokémon Emerald 3DS... If there is one in the future.

If anything, I'm going to assume the remakes are going to do with Emerald what HeartGold and SoulSilver did with Crystal and just incorporate the extras that Emerald brought into the Ruby and Sapphire remakes, akin to how they did the whole Suicune event from Crystal into HG and SS.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

I wonder if they're are areas under the clouds to the south of that map? In past games clouds hid post game areas and one looks pretty big.

Why Sableye of all things. Prankster is already just about the best ability something like that could have (besides Wonder Guard, trolololo), so the Mega form will either have a junk ability and nobody will use it (MegaAlakazam), or it'll be even more obnoxious and get booted to Ubers.

Or Mawile, considering they are version exclusives, if memory serves.

I'm fully expecting the more popular generation 3 pokémon to get mega evolutions too, like Flygon, Salamance and Metagross. Then there's also a chance that Archie and Maxie's main pokémon get mega evolutions too, like Lysandre's Gyarados. I just hope they don't go overboard and give everyone and their grandmother a mega evolution.

Now hold on right there, don't be talking crap bout Mega Alakazam that dude has a bad ass Ability when used in the right way.

Now this here is a Pokemon who don't need a Mega because he is already badass. Image

Now let me tell ya something bout my man Diggersby.... He has ARMS for EARS. Alright, that's not dirt on those huge arms, That's blood. They just made it look like dirt for the kids. The way he enters into battle with his huge arm ears, is badass as it is. This guy will reach all the way back and slap the shit out of anybody.

diggersby tho

Alakazam doesn't have the bulk to utilize a situational ability like Trace and Magic Guard Alakazam with Life Orb hits harder than MegaAlakazam. The only thing MegaZam really gets is more speed, but the speed increase doesn't happen until the turn after evolving and base 120 is already fast enough to outrun most of the things he needs to outrun.

And I highly doubt a Mega Blastoise and Mega Venasuar can take out a Mega Charizard X/Y but mostly Mega Charizard Y with the right moves.

Why? Megablastoise alone could do that.

I was actually fuming in the origin anime when Blastoise wrecked Charizard with a hydro pump and he just got up and won with his regular ass fire moves.

Charizard might be the favourite because he's Red's pokemon but in reality we know how it'd play out. Blastoise goes first wastes Charizard and Red loses (thus teaching him to do typing better for next time).

Make no mistake for all the fancy lingo there's only two types of pokemon.

The ones that when competitively hit with their weakness go down.

The ones that are built to be sturdy and don't.

Charizard and Blastoise are probably in that first category.

Again if you have Charizard wuth a Fire type move like Heat Wave a Grass Type like Solar Beam and Mega Evolve Charizard to Mega Charizard Y. Drought kicks in and Solar Beam Blastoise to 0 HP.

That only works if you can trick the Blastoise user into thinking you're running X-Zard; no water-type is going to stay in against Y-Zard since they all run Solar Beam.

On the other hand, MegaSaur resists fire and grass attacks so unless Y-Zard has Air Slash or something (which might not even hurt enough to matter since MegaSaur is tanky as hell), it either has to switch out or die a slow death to Toxic.

Well you could just switch out a different Pokemon like idk an Arceus with a Sky Plate and it'll just dominate it with Judgement. I mean My Arceus is a force to be rekon with..... Just saying but sadly I gave my Arceus to a friend to keep until I can get the rest of my other pokemon to another friend who is gonna keep them until I can catch a lot of pokemon.... I should tell that friend that when he gets them give some of them some items that can be sold for a very high price..... Gotta get that money somehow and get a lot of Repeat Balls so I can capture the amount of Pokemon that is left with the person...

So... are we banking on them completely screwing up the casinos like they did in HeartGold/Soulsilver or completely removing them all together? Seriously, gambling was one the best things to do in Pokemon to kill time. It's not a negative message to send out that it's fun to have a 10 year old gamble their life away, right?

Seriously, gambling was one the best things to do in Pokemon to kill time. It's not a negative message to send out that it's fun to have a 10 year old gamble their life away, right?

My bet would be on a new kind of minigame, which is sad because I enjoyed the casino games. But at the same time my mother didn't wanted me to start this little extra because it could encourage me to gambling. It was for the same reason that I couldn't go to the arcade. sigh.

Back to pokémon, I wonder if they will finally release those hidden abilities that are locked for the moment like contrary for Serperior or the HA of Aurorus and Tyrunt. It would be nice to a have a friend safari that offer a different set of pokémon.
Please don't hit me...

You can blame the EU for the lack of casinos in Pokemon games... *sigh*

I mean, I enjoyed Voltorb Flip enough once I got the hang of it, but the lack of buying coins and different options for different games really made it boring and pointless. I had enjoyed Johto's original casino too because I liked the Card Flip game.

Besides, if anything, couldn't you say purchasing Poke Balls is a gamble in and of itself. You're blowing money on these balls which are not guaranteed to successfully catch that Pokemon you want. To be honest, I'm sure a lot of people blow more money on Ultra Balls for catching legendaries than they do at the casinos.

To parallel with Banette. This mega was pretty expected, IMO.

Will we be expecting Mega Dusknoir as well? If so, he'll be the fourth Ghost Pokemon to get a Mega. Do we need so many? Probably not. Will we get that many anyway? Probably. Ghosts have had some pretty smashing designs so far.

We could be, but I suspect not. Dusclops' counterpart was Banette. Dusclops has a regular evolution, Banette has a mega evolution. Giving Dusknoir a mega evolution would just throw the balance out of whack again.
