There will always be ignorant people in the world. But when ignorant people try to spread their reactionary, unsupported, and illogical ideals to others, that's just wrong. Especially when they're telling these things to parents. I don't see Barrack Obama tossing his Wii out of the White House window, so I won't either. Ultimately, a video game is merely a medium of expression, an art form, and cannot be "good" or "bad". By the way, all this study is saying is that 100% of potheads who play video games smoke pot, so video games must be bad. And also something about video gamers being the least social group of video gamers. And then a potshot against liberal women, saying they have low self esteem. Rant over.

my take is: they're trying to make us look bad, especially because they can. BYU? Not my kind of resource. And even if an actual University did do something like this, I wouldn't buy it.

Also, in a non-rant-y way, I wish to express that the idea that video games seperate kids from parents is simply not accurate. My father plays tons of video games, and it doesn't seem to weaken our relationship at all. In fact, gaming is just about the only thing we ever talk about.

funny crap...ive been a gamer since i was little and ive not seen any of those problems

-social problems
none...hell half my friends i met when i used to host lan partys in my garage

-drugs
none...but thats because ive seen what they can do to people at a young age

-family relation
no problems here...my brother and even dad plays games...hell my dad hosted lan partys himself...and my bro and i played with them...me and him used to own most of the people there xD

-damage to body
nada...not only helped me hand eye coordination but even helped me learn to draw better and who could forget that im pretty good/getting better at spriting now because there were sprites

dont get me wrong...i think theres always a downside to what ever you do even games but for it to say planely that games are bad is just another stupid article that didnt take the time to see or mention the other side if the mountain :edgeworth:

I think these scientists are just pissed because they aren't making as much as the Video Game Industry. So they get pissed and try and get evdience that Video Games are bad for you. Or I go just be going off on a horrible tangent. Whatever. Not like anything they say is real. Well...there are a tiny bit of things that are true that Video games CAN cause...Cept I forgot what they were. Oh yeah, Eplictic Seziures....
