Though I don't know where to go for someone to create the outfit on commission, as the amazon stores have the same picture, and I don't know how to verify them via a portfolio like some professionals have. Also, the wig is gonna be a nightmare, since it requires me to style it by myself (something I've never done before), and it requires me to add extensions (something I've never done). ;__;

Honey, if that picture was you? That's not too fat. Far from it. And you're adorable, to boot. But there really isn't a weight limit to cosplay. There are assholes, but we can't allow the climate of cosplay to be dominated by creepy beauty industry standards. I'm not fat, but I'm definitely no beauty queen, and I'm accepting that. It's taken me a while, as my self-esteem pretty much crashed after my previous break-up with my ex-girlfriend earlier this year (if you could call it that, she's never going to read the break-up PM I sent, and thus allow closure)... but this is part of why I need to cosplay. I need to do this for me, because I'm tired of not feeling attractive. But barring talent, I may try to do a rule 63 Jimmy Hopkins.

So you cosplay what you feel comfortable with- if you don't feel comfortable cosplaying, I won't try to convince you any further, and I get it- there are assholes out there, and they are quite vocal. But if you do, do it for yourself.

Anyway, what's this Rilakkuma? *looks it up* OH THOSE ARE ADORABLE. <3 Man, that's gonna be tough. If it's a full suit, I do know that Disney has their full-body-costume users wear an ice vest that ends up not lasting very long. If you want to make a makeshift ice vest for underneath, may I recommend... oh, what was it? I remember some sort of salt allowed for ice to not melt as easily.


And yeah, I'm going to need some luck with my Ibuki costume. Gotta find a dependable commissioner for the outfit, find the wig, extensions, and make-up, and somehow learn to fabricate it into the weird head shape... it's likely going to be a disaster. Also, I effort-failed my stage make up class, so I don't imagine my cosplay make up (which will require different types of make-up) will fare any better. >___> I got a lot of work to do in time for the NC Comic Con.

Yeah... 'tis true, the only characters I'd ever consider cosplaying that have beards are (off the top of my head)... Duncan from Dragon Age: Origins, Damon Gant, or Tenzin from Legend of Korra.

But that's, ideally, what the geek community is about: finding like-minded people of similar hobbies that understand what it's like to be introverted, to have social anxiety, and to even be disenfranchised. Together, we find... well, community. Camaraderie. Family.

Okay, I'm working on a huge post regarding the fighting game idea. So far, I have this. What do y'all think? My vision is something that's approachable to Visual Novel fans with all the unlockable bells and whistles they like and simple controls, but allow for advanced gameplay for hardcore fighter fans.

Despair: The more the character defends, loses health, gets debuffs, and uses basic attacks- the more the gauge fills. Higher despair results in higher strength, but less ability to guard. Max despair results in ability to activate NEGA TIME, where health and the despair gauge drains in return for an extreme burst of power. When the despair gauge (or health gauge) drains, all Nega Time ceases and all bonuses revert.

Hope: The more the character dodges, heals health, gets buffs, and uses techniques- the more the gauge fills. Higher hope results in higher defense, and better ability to guard. Max hope results in ability to activate FEVER TIME, where health and hope gauge continually drain, in return for immunity to damage.

Grit: If both despair and hope gauges are completely full, the play can activate WILL POWER. Both hope and despair gauges continually drain, healing health over time and damaging nearby combatants.

Execution: May replace Grit system, may be its own entity. Either way, it's a special move with a cinematic that deals heavy damage. Or it could be just a fatality rip-off.

Items/Stage Hazards: Since the game often has improvised murder methods involving locations and items, would these work, or would it be too much like Super Smash Bros.?

Monokuma Coins/Keys: Monokuma Keys are earned through completing certain tasks to unlock very specific rewards. Like beating the BTB mode with Maizono would unlock her pop idol flashback outfit with that Monokuma Key earned. Playing through any mode other than training mode allots Monokuma Coins to unlock content such as voice clips, game art, etc.

- World-Wide Life of Mutual Killing: Versus mode, local and/or online. Can be singles or doubles.
- Rhythm Life: Bullet Time Battles using several tracks from the game's history remixed.
- Studying Life: Training mode, for singles or doubles.
- Gallery Life: All characters with their profiles detailing everything listed in their report cards, their stories, all voice clips, unique game art, game vids, etc. Also able to view all sprites from the previous games, and also be able to move your camera around every character model (and do so while the model does short movement macros). Content has to be unlocked.
- Theater Life: Possibly for putting in episodes of the anime? Episodes have to be unlocked.
- Crossover Life: Basically Class/Island Life, but with the player being able to date/friendship sim all characters. Most characters will have friendship and romantic endings, but some will only have one or the other. Has to be unlocked.
- The Control Room: The settings place, where you can change voices for the announcer to any of the characters, visual/audio settings, difficulty settings, the language spoken by the characters, subtitle settings, etc.

Why? Cause it'll turn every character into a murdering machine. Maizono, who was not capable of doing a whole lot to defend herself, can most likely suddenly suplex an opponent if she doesn't flat out kill them with her singing and the notes are real and beating the opponent up.
Such a thing would just make me question why nobody was capable of properly fighting anyone off in the game.

PS: Walter/Ishimaru/Danny/Whatever. How about you don't keep changing your name constantly? Just stick to one, goddammit.

So? Anyone was technically able to fight (and murder, as there are unused executions), but jeez, this isn't about necessarily sticking to everything in absolute canon- it's just a cool crossover fighting game being a cool crossover fighting game (or like Umineko's fighting game). Nothing more. If the idea doesn't appeal to you, that's fine, and I doubt I'd convince you. Heck, I could even say "well my favorite character in Dead or Alive isn't a super-soldier, nor a ninja, nor an assassin, nor a mythical being, and she regularly loses in quarter or semi finals after winning only two or three practice matches, but that doesn't stop her from being able to at least hold her own for a little bit", or the more relevant "you could say that about many characters in Smash Bros., like WFT, Villager, Game & Watch, and any frail character, and you'd find yourself incorrect", or "there's a such thing as the willing suspension of disbelief".

And that probably won't suit your preferences, or satisfy any misgivings with my idea, and we could continue to argue for the next page or two.


OR, realizing that future impasse, please just let me be on this one. I don't want to argue with you, and I doubt you'd also want to waste your time arguing over whether or not the mere suggestion of a dangan ronpa fighting game is absolutely super accurate to the series, or whether or not the match-ups would even be probable (or be so grossly uneven that Hiyoko could punch out Sakura). And I doubt either of us would find much pleasure in "winning", anyway. Because the stakes literally are "who is slightly more correct in a subjective opinion argument over a suggestion that is in no way actually being implemented by anyone at the moment".

A spiritual sequel that is somewhat connected by threadbare ties. Basically, the universe of Umineko is different, but it's strongly implied that two characters were involved in the previous game from behind the scenes. Remember the end of the anime,


In either case, it's more of a spiritual sequel, but a more blunt mystery. You are Battler, a wealthy kid in a wealthy family, visiting your ailing grandfather and his servants. There are 18 people on the island. The island is cut off from the outside world by a strong storm. The game is afoot! Mysterious closed-room mysteries keep occurring that are impossible by mortal standards. Who is committing them: people, or The Golden Witch, Beatrice?

Rocks fall, everyone dies, and Battler rolls a successful revival check, but must compete in a battle of wits against Beatrice herself, as he becomes an observer over hisself and the events that occur- and must use logic against logic tricks to prove the murders happened naturally, and not with magic. If he wins, his family is saved and magic doesn't exist in the world. If he loses, everyone becomes torture toys for Beatrice and magic will exist in the universe.
