Sunny Day boosts the Base Power of all Fire-type moves by 1.5 times. So, if Fire Blast were used with Sunny Day in effect, it would have a Base Power of 180 instead of 120. Lava Plume would jump to 120 instead of 80, Eruption would be 225 instead of 150, Ember to 60 from 40, etc. If you're nervous about Sunflora being roasted then just switch out to Kingdra or another type that resists Fire-type attacks. Even if you face a Pokemon that Sunflora's attack isn't significantly effective against, with Chlorophyll in effect it will still be faster than many of the Pokemon you face while being able to effectively set up Leech Seed or another support move.

As far as I know, the only way to get Feebas in HGSS is through the last route on the Walker.

That sounds about right.

Evolving it into Milotic is pretty easy in this game, just take the Feebas to Daisy everyday from 3-4 for a massage to have it looking beautiful!

It does get annoying...item-finding and the Poke radar are even more based on luck than we're really used to in Pokemon...

Whenever someone sees me playing on the Pokewalker and I tell them it's a pedometer, they always take it from my hands, shake it, realize that the steps didn't register, and call me a liar. ;__;

I got my Surfing Pikachu, so I really don't care about it any more.

It is a nice way to get certain pokemon, and it does encourage exercise, at least.

Oh, I know what you mean. You have to shake it really hard to make it register when you're holding it. It, for some reason, always works when I'm wearing it on my legs though. xP

I don't waste watts on the Dowser and Pokemon Finder though. I want to unlock more paths.

And am I the only one that doesn't try to cheat the walker? :yuusaku:

You're getting free happiness boosts, levels, items, and even Pokemon just for doing what you're going to be doing every day anyway, i.e. walking. What's the problem?

I like the Pokewalker a lot, actually. I walk around campus a lot every day, so I like to take a Pokemon from my team with me to get items, experience, and such. I'm going back to my summer job, soon, and I think it'd be funny if one of my supervisors ever saw the Pokewalker. XD Come on, who says I can't bring my Altaria to work with me?!

So, I just traded out my Dragonair (I thought that it was really pretty, but it was always a pain to level up, and it it always got KO'd pretty fast) for a Masquerain. (Long story. I know that it was probably a bad choice, but I wasn't going to evolve my Dragonair anyways.) What would be a good moveset for it? Right now it has
Stun Spore
Scary Face
Silver Wind
Gust

It's only temporary, (I'm waiting for my Ralts to get to a level where I can work with it. It's in the day care right now, much to my friend's horror.) but I want it to be useful while I'm waiting. Any suggestions?

Poor Ralts...

Well uh, yeah, Masquerain is about equal in stats to Dragonair if not a little weaker and has more weaknesses, so...

Replacing Gust with Air Slash when it learns it is kind of duh, and depending on how long you plan on using Masq, it learns Whirlwind and Bug Buzz, which are both useful. Trade Scary Face and Silver Wind out for those; paralyzing something with Stun Spore pretty much kills their speed anyway.

I've been building teams like crazy. I've got like, 20 Pokemon already EV trained and leveled to 50, and I can't bring myself to stop.

Right now I'm building a Perish Song doubles team. I'm currently debating on whether to have Exploud or Electrode as one of my Soundproof teammates. If I pick Electrode, it can block out Perish Song, then use Explosion on whatever my opponents switches out to while I switch my teammate to Mismagius to ignore it, then Perish Song again while switching Mr. Mime into Electrode's place. The problem with picking Electrode though is it is incredibly frail and might be taken down before then. Also, I plan on speeding up Marowak with Trick Room, which could subsequently completely screw over Electrode. I've not tried raising an Exploud before, so I'm not sure how it will fare, in comparison against the flaws stated above.

There's also the trouble of deciding between Lapras and Politoed. Lapras may have more HP and a wider movepool for unpredictability, but its dual Ice typing would widen options against it, making 3 of my Pokemon weak to Fighting. Politoed on the other hand would encourage Electric attacks which will get attracted to Marowak's Lightningrod, but then both Pokemon on the field would be vulnerable against Grass, which doesn't sound like the best move.

Spoiler: This is what I have in mind for my team so far.
Perish Singers
-Mismagius (Perish Song, Mean Look)
-Politoed/Lapras
-Marowak (Perish Song, Stealth Rock, Bonemerang)

Soundproofers
-Mr. Mime (Trick(+Choice Scarf), Trick Room, Reflect, Psychic)
-Electrode/Exploud

Etc.
-Umbreon (Mean Look, Wish, Baton Pass)

Spoiler: Do a nice thing today,
Give your computer some love. <3

Electrode can learn Endure, right? Maybe combine with a +Att berry... Liechi? Or possibly a Lum berry in case of status, wouldn't want it PAR'd or burned...
I'd go with Lapras, because it's a generally so much better and more versatile Pokemon.

I like the Pokewalker! It's a painless way to level up even at high levels, and great for getting items ('dowsing'). The only irritating thing is catching the Pokemon. Those '!!!' Pokemon hardly ever seem to appear, even after a million steps on the route.

Oh wow

So I was breeding Charmanders today since it's always been my friend's favorite, and got myself five eggs before pulling my pokes out of the daycare; one would have been enough, but I figured maybe I'd get lucky and get a female.

Second and fourth eggs were both female, one modest, one timid.

I thought I could use one of the females for trade bait online, but now I'm not sure if I shouldn't just keep both.

Both of those natures are good choices for a special typed moveset Charizard. Modest will boost Sp. Attack, and Timid will boost Speed, both lowering Attack. It's your choice which stat you prefer the boost in, but if I were you, I'd hatch another egg and use that as GTS bait.

I'm pissed off
F*cking moltres, how do they work?
I paralized it, then it's life bar almost hits zero, and I couldn't catch it.
I wasted all of my Dusk Balls(x30), Ultra Balls(x38), Fast Balls(x6), Heavy ball, and some level balls, until Moltres ran out of PP and used struggle, the "hit with recoil" killed him :(
But lugia was too easy, even though is level 70

another good Charizard would be:
~Fire Punch
~Belly Drum
~Subsitute
~Rage(the dragon attack with 120 attack or so)
and item salac berry

They've released a new Pokewalker route via Mystery Gift:
Winner's Path.

The great thing about Winner's Path is that the Pokemon you can catch know moves they can't normally learn, or learn until a high level. You can catch a Beldum with Zen Headbutt, a Horsea with Muddy Water, a Bronzor with Trick Room, or the best one, a Munchlax with Selfdestruct. I've already caught a Beldum and two Duskulls with Imprison.

Also, I'm devising a plan on catching Rayquaza. I refuse to use the Master Ball, because it feels like cheating. The two main problems are it has Rest to heal and remove paralysis, and it has Outrage, which gives it confusion at the end which it could KO itself with. I used Heal Block to keep Kyogre's Aqua Ring at bay, but self-confusion would still be a big problem when I've false swiped it to 1HP.

I don't see why you shouldn't use the master ball. I mean, it's there for a reason, isn't it?
But if you really dont want to use it, your plan seems as good as any. And the self-confusion part could be a problem, but i'm sure it will be okay.

I'd use the Master Ball on Mewtwo, who is really hard to catch. Having 'Recover' is just cheating on the Pokemon's part, so using the Master Ball is fair play :P Same for the Legendary Dogs and their damn Roar..

Mewtwo is easy to catch on HG/SS. Its moveset is Psycho Cut, Amnesia, Power Swap and Guard Swap. It can't recover, and it only ever attacks with Psychic. I completely walled it by using an Absol. Started off with Choice Scarf Zapdos to Thunder Wave it, switched in Absol and False Swiped it to 1HP. No worries at all, Mewtwo can't do a thing to Absol other than take its Swords Dance boosts which it can't use anyway as Psycho Cut is blocked out against Dark.

Rayquaza may be the last legendary to catch, but I'm keeping my Master Ball, just in case they come out with a Celebi event that involves having to catch Celebi yourself. I could use Worry Seed to stop it from using Rest, then switch to my False Swiper. Then I could switch to a Smeargle with Outrage and Imprison, but it's frail and could be taken down quickly. Not to mention restricting the move from being picked means 15 turns less to catch it and it being closer to using Struggle.

Ugh, this is so annoying! I have 6 badges, and I want to grind a little since my pokemon are in my mid-20's (and Jasmine's lv35 Steelix almost killed me, thank god for Heracross xD) but the highest level pokemon I can find are in the mid-teens! T_T

Also, I was randomly walking around, and I countered Entei!

...Then I checked the pokedex, and it wouldn't tell me which route Entei was on, which made me very sad =\ When did they change that? o.O

Route 48 has some mid-20's wild pokemon. Other than trainer rematches, that's probably your best bet for the point you're at.

Lol i caught mewtwo with a moon ball.
thats right. an EFFING moon ball after like 20 dusk balls, 10 ultras and a timer ball. Got it to 1 HP, Paralyzed it and found it to be no problem.
Used my master ball on Ho-oh, actually.

I hate the dogs. Iv'e only othered to catch Suicine so far. The longest Iv'e got a dog to stay with me is for 3 turns. Then it woke up and ran off. Sucks for them, because all of my team is in its 60's now. I can't hurt them or they'll probably die.

Agree with both of you.

IMO its better now they got rid of that sinking marsh in D/P/P (that was godawful). I agree the items don't really do much. I think the only good its for is catching pokemo slightly easier, but its not like there are many rare pokemon there. The rarest thing i found there was Mr.Mime. WOW, AMAZING >.<

There's a lot of Hoenn and Sinnoh pokemon you can only get in HGSS through placing objects in the Safari Zone.

Granted, that doesn't mean much if you have easy access to RSE and/or DPP, but yeah.

Raising a timid Froslass. Should I teach her Water Pulse to deal with fire/rock types someone might throw at her?
