I'm going to, later on, post two EBA trophies in a screenshot, with my Ouendan! one.

And then I'll take three EBA-Only screenshots, so show each character in the trophy, better.

I STILL don't know why Agent J is going that thing with his finger...

I was discussing with a couple of people what the scenarios for EBA2 would be, making a welcome change from discussing possible songs. I've come up with two so far.

I've thought of something for the emotional case. It's hard to top a mission about a girl getting over her dead father, but this is what I've come up with.

A kid was abandoned against his parents' will, and was left at an orphanage. When he grew up, he decided to look around the world for his parents.
Good Ending: He finds his parents, does the whole slow motion running towards them thing and hugs them.
Bad Ending: He finds a letter from his parents, reads it, sheds a tear.
Mission Failed: In the middle of a crowded street, he looks around, but can't find his parents. Cue crouched down on all fours, spotlight on him.
Spoiler: Do a nice thing today,
Give your computer some love. <3

First post in a month!!!!!!!!!!

I...don't think they're making an EBA sequel...
Wanna know why?
Look on iTunes sometime. Some songs are good, but Japan at least had a variety of types of songs. All (or most of) the American music sounds simiilar. Think about it:

JP: "One Night Carnival" and "Samurai Blue"
EN: "Walkite Talkie Man" and "The Anthem"?

I just don't see an EBA sequel, but OTO3 may be released by mid-next year.
How do I know? I have... connections.... :yogi:

Sad to say I think EBA is a one time deal for the US... *cries*
But id Japan keeps making Ouendan there will be much importing, especially for a young man living in Texas. ;)

No weeabooing in the EBA thread, please! There's absolutely no reason for them not to release a second Elite Beat Agents game.

First of all, Suji, you're being way too presumptuous. You assume that everything in Japan is different that they have infinitely more variety than anything in America. But, I can tell you right now with good wisdom that Japanese think J-Rock and Pop sounds as similar to them as American Rock and Pop sounds similar to us. Just because the Japanese "seem" to have more variety doesn't mean they do. Just because it's different to us doesn't mean it's different to them.

Second of all, do you even know what the hell you're saying? The Japanese have "more variety"? May I ask, why you think that? Just because you made a tiny comparison between only two songs of the same genre. That's like saying there's no variation among games just because you compared one Mario game to another Mario game and claimed that every video game was like that. That would be true, except there's also metal, rock, hip-hip, R&B, pop, blues, even country, and that's not including all the various sub-genres, i.e. "British Metal", "Ballad", "Alt. Rock", "Grunge", "Folk"...the list goes on and on. But, unfortunately, I have no time to keep track of every single one. For situations such as these, I use allmusic.com.

Third of all...just what the hell?!

Lastly, Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo of America has stated that he would like to work with iNiS on a sequel.

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elite_beat ... .26_awards

Before you write it off as another uninformed, Wikipedia article check the citation which will link you to a 1Up article with Reggie expressing his thoughts about EBA sales. If you can't do that, I'll provide the think for you below:

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3155690

I shouldn't even be writing this because your post is so biased and uninformed that it would make Gears' arguments seem like law school material, but if it keeps people like you from speaking ill of successful video game franchises and convincing everyone to fall under your wing of doubt, then so be it.

I still base my opinions on my personal thoughts, as do you, moron. Also, I'd like you to go over the game EBA and go over Ouendan again. Which one rocked harder? Ouendan. Of course, this just MIGHT be my biased opinion of JP music over EN/US music. Also, this applies to YOU. Everyone has a biased opinion, ya know. And this doesn't mean that you got to be all over my story, dude.

Thanks for your time.

You know, if you are gonna be saying stuff like that you may as well just stay in the Ouendan topic.
There is no reason to go to the EBA topic just to say stuff like that. This topic is for EBA, and only EBA.
This topic isn't for discussing EBA vs. Ouendan.

If you don't have anything nice to say about a topic you shouldn't post in it. And that is all I have to say on this matter.

Okay, you got me there. Maybe I was out of line, but that's the best way for me to get my thoughts across; be direct, to-the-point, and as confrontational as possible. That's all.

SujiRyuu wrote:

Wow! It's like opinions are the very basis of which people use to determine what's favorable to them and what isn't! Oh wait, that's not true anymore. Nowadays we have critics and editors giving number scores and arbitray "good/bad" ratings because people are so insecure they can't make up their minds whether to get a hot dog or a cheeseburger.

Also, since when did opinions come into play when music genres have been clearly defined by both musicians and critics? I fail to see how someone's opinion of Reggae can be translated to "I think this is rock and roll SO FUCK YOU!!!" That's not having an opinion; that's just being stupid.

SujiRyuu wrote:

Never mind "might". It IS bias.

Defition of bias, courtesy of dictionary.com:

"2. a particular tendency or inclination, esp. one that prevents unprejudiced consideration of a question; prejudice."

You clearly prefer Japanese music to US music and you even go so far as to pigeonhole all music made in the US as "same-sounding". Myself? I love both games and I honestly can't make up my mind which one I like better: EBA or Ouendan? I don't bother myself with such trivial matters though, because if I spend too much time on it I'll just end up becoming like you and the millions of other crusaders who staunchly defend their tastes when even the slightest bit of slander is mentioned against them. They also have a tendency of not realizing when they've lost an argument and keep repeating the same things they've said since the very beginning, losing even more credibility if they had any at all.

SujiRyuu wrote:
Also, this applies to YOU. Everyone has a biased opinion, ya know.

Well, you're right when you say everyone has a biased opinion. Wait...did you just place "bias" next to "opinion"? Well, let's translated that, shall?

Definition of opinion, courtesty of dictionary.com:

"1. a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty."

Basically, an opinion is your personal thought about something with a lack of concrete evidence to support that belief. Combine it with bias and you get "a prejudiced opinion". You can't seriously have those two in the same sentence, unless you want to look like a massive dick head. I, however, am neither "biased" or "opinionated" unless you can prove it somehow, which I doubt you'll be able to do with that massively thick skull of yours taking up most of where you brain should be.

SujiRyuu wrote:
And this doesn't mean that you got to be all over my story, dude.

Sure, but I don't have to sit down and watch you make a complete fool out of yourself with your grossly biased, uninformed banter. Perhaps I was out of line in doing so, but I don't regret it.

I love Elite Beat Agents! I set myself the goal of getting S on all tracks and 100 million points, and today I finally made it! :acro: I never thought ABC would become such a hated track in my book, but it's just so annoying to tap to. My favourites are 'I was born to love' you for the hilarious story, 'The Anthem' for being so crazy and still making me want to help Hulk out, and Jumpin' Jack Flash for being one of the most powerful moments in any game. I've even started to like Canned Heat now, but more because of the music than the story.

Of course! I suppose I was a bit out of line there (I've had bad experiences with hardcore japanophiles over the years) and now I think it could have been solved with a simple link to the article with Reggie expressing his thoughts about a possible EBA2.

Well, I have a few "final scenario" ideas as well as a "sad scenario" one but I'm too lazy to post them right now.

Most important for me is keep the rumble pack support!
Best underused DS feature ever.

I'd like to see some kind of Wi-Fi, and unlockable Ouendan skins. (No download please!)
Or even better, a cross over where the Ouendan visit the EBA! All the Ouendan 2 features.
Kahn with the guy moves. *shudders* And a larger list of songs.

I'd actually like to see some kind of build a team thing. As you play through the game you get a certain team.
Once you beat each difficulty you can mix and match agents from difficulties you have finished.
Each agent has bonus stats like slower bar drop rate or better chance of getting a 300.
Each character would have an up and down side. Maybe Kahn could be hidden marker.
And have the Ouendan have special bonuses too! And their own move set!

Hmm...thanks!
And "Onegai" is "Please" in NIHONGO. :garyuu:

And the agents should team up with the OUendan! It could be EBA2 AND OTO3! :gant:
...or maybe...

They could use the REAL Earth (not the EBA Earth) and have a different song for each country!

That'd be weird, yet cool...

I think I might have thought of a good idea for a feature. A sort of alteration to the multiplayer Co-Op mode. I'm thinking that if two players are doing Co-Op on a song, there should be two individual beatmaps for each person, the first player could be tapping beats to go with the singer's voice, while the second taps beats that go with the guitar. And of course, for those without access to local friends with the same game, you'd be able to try out the instrumental solo beatmaps by yourself as well.

Point out all the flaws you want, I don't care, I'm proud that I came up with the idea! :redd:

I can't name any one song that I want in EBA2, because I have so many.
Iron Man - Black Sabbath (Penultimate Song)
Free Bird - Lynyrd Sknyrd (Final Song?)
Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand
Take On Me - A-ha
I Am A Rock - Paul Simon (Sad Song)
Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Daft Punk
And a lot more that I can't think of.
I judge people's gender on the internet by their avatar. So if I call you a girl when you're a guy, it just means you have a damn sexy avatar that I'd like to get in bed with.

one problem I would like fixed (although I really don't know how it would work) is if they got rid of bits going from far left to far right, as a right handed guy with large hands this meant that I wouldn't see the next lot of beats so would often lose my combo or I would have to put my hands in an uncomfortable angle, other than that there was nothing wrong with the game, the single pack multiplayer was suprisingly good as well, in a sequel I'd want perhaps more unlockables, and if the same agents were used making Derek and Morris (the 2 male backing agents) playable in single player.
