If your asking...Tactics is really good. I love the different races, and job system (although some people do not), but its not the most challenging strategy RPG (if you're going to compare it to others like Disgia and Fire Emblem).
As for Crystal Chronicles, it's okay. It really is a multiplayer game, as the single player is basically dodge, hit, dodge, hit, heal, and it's kinda difficult. But I love the music and art direction (moreso than in any other Final Fantasy game).

Unfortunately I've not had the chance to play the original but I love the Tactics Advanced games, I've clocked well over 150 hours of gameplay on both of them.
And Tactics A2 is related to FFXII slightly but I'd say they are pick up and play. Though there are cameos from A1 in A2 but they ain't a big deal.

The ivalace world is intresting due to the different races and the mythology behind it.
As for Skies of Arcadia, It does have a large random enconter rate that got on my nerves so much I never finished it. If that doesn't bother you then it is a pretty decent RPG.

But other than that, ship battles are cool, story and characters are great, but my only other qualm would be that most boss battles are basic buff-limit break-heal strategies.

Revenant wings will definately have some big spoilers if you haven't played XII.
Tactics (Wotl), and FFTA2 are both ivalice, but can definately be safely played without knowing anything about XII, especially WotL.
They're both great. FFT has easily the best and most well-written plot of any game with the Final Fantasy Moniker, but the gameplay is a slight bit archaic by modern SRPG standards, but still great. FFTA2's plot sucks balls, but it has highly polished gameplay.

I know! He's a kid...having fun!
Though to me Marche....a kid who was still uncertain of the new world also seemed somewhat realistic. But Luso struck me as a very different kinda kid.
I never heard Luso get flak for it though.

Disgaea DS was incredibly disappointing to me. They took out a lot of the voice-overs during the cut scenes. I've been wondering if the PSP version had that problem myself.
FFT is great, but try to get the original instead of WotL if possible; the remake has terrible slowdown when anyone uses magic/skills/pretty much anything besides a basic attack.
Crystal Chronicles isn't bad, I know it got a lot of flak when it first came out since people were expecting a more 'traditional' game in the series. It's basically Gauntlet with a Final Fantasy spin. Saying that, it's a lot more fun if you have a group to play with, especially since you're going to be doing a TON of grinding and farming for equipment components if you want to stand any sort of chance against the final boss.
I'm actually in a CC group right now. We get together at least once a week and clear a couple dungeons at a time.

The slowdown is worth stomaching for the amazing retranslation alone. (Not to mention balthier)

i recentlly play it and... really enjoy. otherwise its very simple with great storyline...
the 1 who's keep bugging me is where location and when we find some stuff to change past time who effect the present event

Disgaea DS is a downgraded of Disgaea so some Animation for skills are lacking in some. No diangle throws, also said no VA.
Disgaea DS is I think a fan service game. I mean You get to play as Pleinair...before popping playability in other games(I think two or three games where you can user her), you have some nice commentary from a Prinny's point of view. You also get to use the secret characters that was added on to AoH.
You should go for both PSP version and then for the others if you feel like it. I have them all only because I started with the first.

Don't quote me on it since I haven't been playing it for while. It just me not the game. I still need to beat Yggdra Union and I stopped again. I'm just sick of SRPG, not that I don't like them it just every single game I'm liking has been coming out as a SRPG.
Anyway it different, people call it a bullet hell game. I haven't beaten the game so I don't know how Hellish it is, if it even deserve to be call hell. Those Touhou ones, those are hell. This one doesn't seem so. The whole game is touch screen, you have characters but they all try to attack the Wisp(thing you control around moving things, selecting things, etc.). I just don't know what to say, it a different game then the norm. Don't think there any game like it unless you break the game up in pieces. I think the story might be confusing at times but don't know.
Is that demo still up on Wii? If you have a Wii and if it still on there or if there a demo in the store(I haven't been to the store so I don't know what they have as far as demo goes) you should try it.
A BIG tip if you ever get the game. PLAY,READ,PAY ATTENTION to the TUTORIAL! No matter how long it is! Also try to go back to it for a refersher once in a while.

It is an upgrade, but I have both for a reason. Platinum is my "replay" game and Diamond is my "collection" game. All the important pokemon I catch (such as legendaries, my shiny Crobat, ect.) I port over to Diamond. With this, I can replay Platinum for fun and rasing low level pokemon that I port from Diamond, without having to delete my collection in Diamond.
But that's just what I do. Otherwise, Herr Blondie's advice is good too.
