Wow. I didn't know Prof Layton 3 was coming in September. Sweet!! (this was written before DeMat's latest post about Layton 3...)

But on-topic, obvously those things like Star Fox 64 3D and Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D are those games, just ported/remade for the 3DS. But are those things like Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Paper Mario, etc, those games ported/remade for the 3DS, or new games in those franchises?

Also, I really really really hope those screenshots from the games like MGS and Resident Evil aren't just cutscenes (cuz they could just give us great movie graphics and meh gameplay graphics... Although Mario Kart looks pretty great so...)

hmm
I wonder if all that is not a little overrated, I mean yeah sure looks awesome and all
But did anyone ever thaught about the price?
IT will be like 200-300
as I said before for that amount you can buy a PS3 or 360(ok they sucked at E3 but Sony owned with Move)
And also:The 3DS is ANOTHER update after ANOTHER update after ANOTHER update after ANOTHER update after ANOTHER update after ANOTHER update after ANOTHER update after ANOTHER update after ANOTHER update after ANOTHER update after ANOTHER update after ANOTHER update after
And Sony has PS3 and PSP for ages

Besides, it isn't Nintendo's thing to sell a console for hundreds of insert currency here. I'm certain the technology they used is cheap and efficient, like they always do *cough cough*Game and Watch *cough cough* Gameboy *cough cough* the fucking Wii *cough cough*

Judging from the screenshots, at least, the screenshots of the Mario games, they are new releases. Also, judging from that Kid Icarus gameplay shot DeMatador posted earlier, the graphics can be pretty good.

Yet another reason why I've kinda stood by Nintendo, they have the resources to make cheap, but durable systems.

We'll apparently get a OoT remake as well.

It doesn't really need a remake since we've had like 3 ports already, but yeah. Nice, I guess.

A GRAPHICAL update wouldn't be too bad, though. As much as I love OOT, it is a little... dated. Just so long as it isn't like Master Quest.

CP, I know what you mean. Before today, I also though for a long time that this was simply DSi + 3D, until I saw proof.

The juicy, juicy proof.

Now that I think about it, LA is probably the Zelda game that people complain the least about. It's one of those games that everyone agree is great.

"The first Zelda is okay but hasn't aged well", "Zelda II is too different and hard", "ALttP and OoT are popular so they suck", "MM is too different and weird", "TWW is too cartoony and sailing is boring", "TP didn't live up to our expectations", "PH is too easy and I don't like the stylus controls", "ST has a train" etc... Sound familiar? (note: I disagree with most of those)

I've heard very few people complain about LA though.

All the more reason to make a remake. I also disagree with those, minus one. Yes, MM was 'weird', but it was still a good gaming example, well, maybe the time cycle wasn't, but the replay value gained by the 'large-for-an-N64' amount of sidequests was a GOOD thing.

Also, on a slightly related note, what is it with video games and trilogies? It almost always ends up '1st game=good, 2nd game=crap, or at least not well-received, 3rd game=awesome.'

Yeah, MM was probably the best N64 game (doesn't say a lot, I don't like the N64) because of all its contents. And LA in 3D would be awesome. I think TWW-esque graphics would be fitting.

I have thought of that as well. A lot of people loved PW1, thought PW2 was meh and PW3 kicked ass. Ditto with MGS.

EDIT: Fixed an annoying spelling error.

Seconded. MM was the greatest, though I never actually OWNED it until it came out on VC. (Never got the graphics card.)

The whole 'trilogy effect' also happened with SMB, and, to an extent, Castlevania.

No More Heroes would like a word with you.

NMH 1: Mindblowing.
NMH 2: Polished mindblowing.
NMH 3 (which will most probably exist): Most probably Mindblowing: The Game.

Also, Super Smash Brothers. And I'm pretty sure I can name a lot.

Anyway, Goldeneye Wii and Epic Mickey were two underappreciated jewels of this E3. Also, Kirby's Epic Yarn: I love the game, but absolutely hate the name. It sounds like a casual game for 3-year-olds, when it looks like a great Kirby game. Although I was expecting for a Kirby 64-ish game. BUT, I don't think this game is the "Hoshi no Kirby" (Kirby of the Stars) game Iwata hinted at some months ago.

Also, where the hell is Pikmin 3?

Point taken, but 'Good, crap, awesome,' is pretty common. Also, 'Hoshi no Kirby'? Game based on the anime?

And where the hell IS Pikmin 3?

WOW. That really is impressive. (Though I wonder just how combat will work.) That is some surprisingly detailed and fluid graphics, especially for a handheld.

And I read that the 3ds will be arround $348 US dollars, wich is too expensive, but we'll be getting GC graphics
I remember when I was a child, someone said something about a portable gamecube, I was like "how is that even possible? keeping 3d in a handheld?"

also I don't know if this was posted yet

Actually, it was (or is...?) going to be like Kirby 64 ("The Cristal Shards", it was called), but for GameCube. Then the Wii showed up, and it was passed on to Wii.. There are even some screenshots around, and a very short gameplay trailer, which I can't seem to find, but I saw them, and they looked just like the N64 game, but with better visuals. So we're not missing on much.
What I really wanted from Kirby on Wii was just... Kirby on Wii. I just wanted to have a Wii Kirby game, and this Epic Yarn idea sounds pretty coolish.
Not the name, though. Ugh.

Ah. And Epic Yarn does seem cool, and the name seems less stupid if you look at it as 'Epic Tale' or whatever, yarn just seems like a stupid thing to put in a game title since most people associate it with the 'knitting' yarn and not the 'story' yarn. (Yes I know the game's gimmick is yarn, but still.)

But still, a Kirby game based on the anime could be acceptable. Of course, I couldn't stand to play it in English.

Also, after looking at the trailer, my only thought was 'KIRBY MECH. DO WANT.'

Freaky, That guy sounds like my friend when he tries to be annoying... And it's working...Er...

Maybe I'll finally upgrade from my Invincible Brick to this one. ...Nah....I like having an Invincible System...

But really, I think that Nintendo was probably making some sort of Super DS when suddenly 3-D became popular again and then cut out all the great things they put in it in an attempt to make it project 3-D things without those stupid Glasses.

So yeah, If you wanted a Better DS then this one....Blame Avatar.

That is... quite expensive. But I think that knowing that price WAY ahead of time definitely makes it more... reasonable *cough*.

But now that you mention it... I would probably be a bit paranoid about dragging it around. But I'm already carting around a $200-ish XL... I either just keep it on my person or in a locked room whenever I'm out (I work in a keycard-protected file room, which only 5 people have access to, other than security and janitors who shouldn't come in when I'm working).

You just have to be... super careful. But I always freak out about dropping things and scratching them.... augh :S
