At least from what I know, Mega Man Volnut (Or Trigger) along with Yuna, Sera, Gats, and all those guys are Androids in the "system." Very advanced androids made to be pretty much like Humans, both in how they look, and they need things like air and food. Or at least Trigger is, I'm not 100% certain that the rest of them are the same in that way. Now each of these androids had a class or title or whatever it is. For example, Yuna and Sera were Mother units, Gats and Geets were Servatory units, even Juno was a bureaucratic unit, he fits into this somehow. Anyway, Mega Man was a purifier unit. However he was somehow special from the other purifier units, and the Master kept him around and even entrusted him with his genetic code. However somewhere in this Sera and Mega Man had this battle or something, and for some reason which I can't remember, Yuna did something making Mega Man revert to a baby, (leading to him being found by Barrel Caskett in the Nino ruin, Don't ask, I can't figure that one out either) and Sera being sealed away on forbidden island.
To my knowledge, there isn't any actual relation to the maverick hunters. Those were just a bunch of reploids who happened to fight maverick reploids such as Sigma.Plus this is thousands of years after the Mega Man X series.

The reason Mega Man had to revert to his more primitive state because he himself was labelled as maverick/irregular by Sera.
Mega Man had to revert himself to a more primitive state in order to repair himself, being sealed away by Yuna after Mega Man had sent his essential data to Data the Monkey. It's very similar to how Zero would keep coming back, and even more similar to Zero at the start of the Zero series (he had lost his memories, changed bodies and been found by a human many, many years later).
And last, but not least, robots in all the robotics timeline games have had a class. There are regular reploids, combat reploids, political reploids, commanding reploids, communications reploids, law enforcement reploids and the such.

Question. Where does it say purifiers don't exist and he is an irregular hunter? And aren't Maverick Hunters and Irregular hunters the same thing only Irregular hunters was what they were called in the Japanese version?
And with Sera, at least from my memory, he was going to destroy the system with the masters genetic code, and she was supposed to protect the system leading to their fight. She didn't just label him a maverick.
And I talked about their classes mostly just for clarification. I admit I haven't played the Starforce, Zero, or ZX games, but unless they have a lot about Legends in those games than we must be getting our info from different sources because these just don't seem to be matching up.

Mega Man is not required to eat though. He also survives underwater in actual game play for a very, very long time, much more so than a human could handle being under water. More or less, Mega Man has no idea of his origins, him going to get the Rebreather, thinking he couldn't survive underwater, wouldn't be that far-fetched. He even survives outside of the atmosphere without a breathing device whilst on the Elysium in the final battle against Sera.
In the Japanese version of the game, of course. He is never once called a "Purifier" in the Japanese version of the game.
Going against the System was maverick activity in Legends, just as going against Neo Arcadia was maverick activity in the Zero series (wherein Zero was labelled a maverick for all 4 games). She was also the only unit to challenge Mega Man's will, despite him only trying to destroy the System upon The Master's request.

Eh, I haven't looked at the RPM wiki, but the TMMN's wiki is not very good. (Too many red links IMO.)
I'm just realizing this, but......... I think that, in the short amount of time that I've come to actually like (or love, depends on the situation) the Mega Man metaseries, I might be obsessed over it. Which is scary, considering I've had very little exposure to it until April of this year. Especially with Legends and Battle Network. Which is EVEN MORE scary considering the one person on the Internet I really disliked (for a time) really hated BN and really loved Legends (and proceeded to call me "Mistress Yuna" because of similarities between us. (I dunno)).

Eh, I haven't looked at the RPM wiki, but the TMMN's wiki is not very good. (Too many red links IMO.)
No, it isn't me but he's a member of all the major Mega Man forums (he's a real elitist, in a way).
I rarely use TMMN's wiki due to how user unfriendly it is, and how little information it holds (especially about the games themselves). TMMN is really only good as a news source.

Why? Because Capcom is SERIOUS F'IN BUSINESS, that's why. Real reason? Probably because it's a relatively good time to debut new games. (I.E.; It's not smart to show things ahead of schedule. *thinks back to the issue when Deathly Hallows was spoiled by some few people on the internet"
OH LAWDY, we had this discussion on Legends Station recently, so there's a lot of opinions on that. Honestly, it should be a multiplatform game, so that if you have a platform that supports Legends 3, you can buy it and not worry about buying a new Xbox or some shit like that. But, in personal preference, for the Jesu-Christy Sake of Megami-Kun, BRING IT TO THE Wii!!! I want to pwn Reaverbots using the Nunchuk!
