That would be because Noid was not an original video game character. He was the mascot for Domino's Pizza in the 1980s. And the games were only develop to help promote Domino's Pizza. The problem with his games was that it was Nintendo Hard (almost impossible hard).

I'm going to have to say that I hate Rose with a passion.
However, I quite enjoy Raiden. I mean, he's no Snake, but he is a cool guy. He seems to get a lot of shit from people that he doesn't deserve (Even from Kojima himself)

You know, I personally don't like Link because, yeah, he's basically a simulator character. But I still like the games alot.
So anyway, I would say definately Solid Snake, because his games are the most over praised, over rated, and overhyped pieces of... oh right, wrong topic.
I would probably say most Sonic the Hedgehog characters because everyone I know says they are annoying, but I personally find some of the characters annoyingness to be funny. Creams voice always puts a smirk on my face because of how laughably bad it is. And I still find Tails cute. And, well... I can't go much into detail, but basically I haven't seen a Sonic Character that has annoyed the crap out of me, yet.

People hate him because he's 'too hard to use', but I find him quite easy to use, and he's the best character I can use in Brawl. I kick ass with him, CPU and human. :D

Shadow gets hate because he's been in nothing but terrible games. Otherwise, I'd think he's a pretty decent addition to the cast besides Knuckles.
Anyway, I like MGS2 Raiden. I know that he was hit-or-miss with a lot of people in his first appearance, but I thought his development throughout the game was really good. It was also fun getting the CODEC team to hate his guts.. :X

Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Battle.
The main hate with Shadow came from Sonic Heroes, a generally bad game that reintroduced Shadow just because he was popular (in turn, killing his character entirely). Then when people said they wanted a T rated game starring Shadow that explains his past, the same idiots behind Heroes decided to give him guns, steal vehicles, kill aliens, and curse, since those were the only ways these imbeciles believed a game could be more mature (though they later butchered a lot of content to get the brand new E10+ rating the ESRB had just established at the time).
Now Shadow's an agent for GUN who either screams in rage or monotonely belittle everyone else whenever he has something to say (due to both bad writing and Jason's voice acting). The character has been critically damaged, but I still like him a lot.
