Kinda. At least i'll have 2 DS's. Its not worth paying that much for a r button repair. I'd rather do it myself but I cant take apart the freakin DS.

He's right; I once had a laptop which broke once, I could send it in for repair for free.
It broke down for a second time; and I could still send it back because of the warranty, and no money was charged.
Now it's broken for the 3rd time, but the warranty was expired.
(I'm not going to tell what brand it was; but I'm seconding the statement of 'free repair under warranty').

I wouldn't recommend that, especially if you've never done this before or don't at least have some technical knowledge. Just pay the minimal fee instead of taking an unnecessary risk that could cost you even more to fix.

lol... My DS has always been working, and I've never had a bad video game system, but I would recommend going to Future shop or something so they can give you a phone number...XD.
Best thing is to just send it to Nintendo... the warranty can probabbly be found on the Internet.

try:
1. flipping it upside down
2. blow at the crack while still upside down
3. press R very hard while still upside down
4. repeat 2 & 3 til it works again
but seriously warrantly lasts around 1 year so just get it fixed unless its over 1 year old....

I have a "phat" DS which is has a faulty L button. Are you saying that just because something is bad means another thing is exempt from it? I don't think so! Unless you can prove that the R button is infinitely superior to the L button which I don't think can be done.

Shortly after, the touch screen stopped working.
Now the only game I can proper play is 'Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time' until it gets up to a certain point.
But that was the old DS. I have my Lite so it's just sitting on my desk at home.
There was some shady store that would have fixed it for me at the time but it was like $100.

I have had very few people tell me they've had problems with a Lite. I've had mine for two years now, and I have yet to have any problems.
Ace Prosecutor: If the button isn't just stuck, just send it in. If you crack it open, you void the warranty. Given that you started a help file on fixing an R button without trying to unstick it, I assume you are not well-versed in troubleshooting electronics or, more specifically, troubleshooting DS hardware. Don't risk it. I know throwing down $50 sucks, but it's a risk we take when we use electronics. They break sometimes.

btw the main reason i brought a new DS was that the DS's screen was UNCALIBRATABLE. So i had to play games with a uncalibrated screen. It's impossible to play Elite Beat Agents...

Darn you people!
The only reason why i got a blue DS, is because there were no gray ones left. I looked through 4 shops and only the blue one was left...
Also, for my new bleck DS, i went through 7 stores, and eventually i had to wait for the new shipment to come. They kept saying "i don't know when they will ship"
Also, once this guy, i asked him "Do you have any more Nintendo DS's in store?" he didn't even look at me, and said "NO"
