Depends what you like in an online game and how much you're willing to pay for it :P

Assuming you mean online rpg's, I'd recommend Granado Espada, aka Sword of the New World, as it is called by Americans.

I haven't been able to stick with online rpg's for very long, but this one has me hooked. A bit unique in the sense that it's a Baroque setting, around the time of the Renaissance. Gorgeous graphics, many different ways to play. As for your account, rather than having your identity encompass one character, you are identified by your family name, and all the characters you create go under that name. I think they let you have up to 54 characters in your family now. Why have so many? First of all, you can control 3 characters at a time (with special AI characteristics), and you can engage in real-time combat with monsters and other players (I'm reminded of FF12, kinda). Plus, you can recruit different npc's into your family after completing quests and following their storylines (I'm reminded of the Suikoden series). Npc's have unique and specialized skills from stock characters, so the possibilities are endless in terms of how you want to play. Oh, did I mention this game is also free? ^^ Business model is set up so that you can purchase items with real money if you wish, but you don't need to in order to play. On a personal note, I love their Baroque-ish-fantasized costumes. :edgy:

Others I haven't played but people have recommended to me are:

Lineage 2:

and Guild Wars:

Guild Wars needs to be purchased for the original installer, but no monthly subscription. I'm not sure about Lineage. And yea, sorry I can't tell you much more about these games, but just so you have an idea of what I've heard from other friends were good.

I play an online dancing game too, but since not many other people are interested in it, I'll leave it at that for now lol.

Combat Arms is a good shooting mmo if you're into that. It's quite addictive. :will:

The only one i currently play is a simple browser based, point & click air combat game called Area00:
http://www.area00.com

I also dabble a bit in Horseland but it's turned to crap after they made some changes (probably half of the players have quit now). I do (actually did) have an (free) Anarchy Online account, which i got when i had my old computer. But i never played it because it kept crashing on win98se.

My friend and I sometimes play Atlantica Online when the WoW servers are down on Tuesday for maintenance and whatever. It's a pretty cool and simple turn based MMORPG, and if you get your character to max level (easy to do) the makers of the game will pay you $20 USD. That's $20 for every character you get to max player, no strings attached.

There's more strings attached to that statement then there are to a harp. It's if you don't like the game, you get your character to level 50 and then they will buy it from you for $20. Although, I don't see how anyone cannot like Atlantic.

By the way if you join on the Thebes sever, put in "Zann" as a referer. I'm also the leader of Consortium there too. (A little SW:EAW:FOC hint there.)

Battlefield 2142. 'nuff said. It's a FPS set in the year 2142, where the Earth has entered an ice age, and humanity desperatly fights over the last pieces of land. You control a vast number of vehicles, ranging from helipcoters to large walkers. It's a really "epic" game.
