Well, I'm getting closer to 100% in TWEWY, so now I'm wondering which game I should get next... Phoenix Wright has really gotten me into the adventure genre, and now I want to get more into RPGs, too. So now I don't know what to get next... Tales of Symphonia or Chrono Trigger DS. Three of my friends really really love Tales of Sypmphonia (and it's not like they are a group of fans--they are three separate friends who have never even seen each other) but Chrono Trigger is supposed to be a really classic RPG.

So I thought I'd come to you guys ^_^


As I said, I haven't really gotten into RPGs yet, so I only have a few reference frames for what I like...
-I luv pokemanz! xD I just want to get into more "hardcore" rpgs
-I really liked Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
-I didn't really enjoy Final Fantasy III =\
-I heard that the Tales of Symphonia battle system is kind of like Super Smash Bros. I luv SSB!


(Oh, and don't forget to suggest another RPG if you get the feeling that I'll really like it over ToS or CT! (Except Tales of Symphonia 2; I'm playing the original first.) I've got a Wii (and thus GC) and a DS (and thus GBA))

I sign Chrono Trigger DS, the original for SNES kicked ass and so does the remake.
I also strongly recommend Golden Sun 1 and 2. They tend to get overlooked, but they are really awesome. Interesting fight system (Dschinns), challenging puzzles and sweet gameplay (Psynergy and stuff) - Check it out!

Chrono Trigger is a must-buy. I haven't played Tales of Symphonia, though.

Another recommended RPG is Final Fantasy IV DS. The story, the characters and the battle system has improved very much since FFIII.

Could you please describe why they are bad?

Telling me that in your opinion it's a bad game really doesn't help me =\ (And the same goes for just telling me that in your opinion a game is really good.)

I've only played symphonia myself, it's more of a "your first JRPG" game. The combat is satisfying but has very little depth, and the story and characters are as cliche-ridden as they come. It's good, but not worth searching out for.

and don't do this! or if you do, don't do it for the additional content.

I can't think of much to suggest other than Hotel Dusk and FFIV, which I didn't like but have to admit it was a pretty solid remake.
With bad voice acting.

As I've said, I'm really just starting getting into the more RPG-ish RPGs. I don't mind having cliches when I'm first starting out (In fact, as long as there's something original in a game, I tend to just overlook cliches xD)


I've never played Chrono Trigger, so it's all new to me :D

I've already played Hotel Dusk. (I didn't mention it 'cause it's not an rpg....) I'm a bit hesitant about FFIV when I didn't like FFIII; I'd rather try Chrono Trigger and Tales of Symphonia, which I think I'll like (based on what I've heard about them) before FFIV, which I don't think I'll like based on FFIII.
