I had the typical minor hinge crack happen to me before, you know, where it's just the straight line across the hinge. I sent it back and the system came back looking brand new, and now this is happening. NOT COOL.

I remember hearing that the design of the DS lite has a flaw in it and the hinge crack is the result. A friend of mine had a crack in his DS. He simply returned it got a new one.

Anyway, just call up Nintendo, tell them your problem and they should be more than willing to help you out, either by sending you to a certified technician or just replacing the unit altogether. If this has happened before, however, you may want to consider that you're handling your DS Lite too roughly... or that you're just horribly unlucky. >_>;

Posers, Phoenix_fan. As in the guys who mimic stuff to fit in and/or be cool (but, in reality, are being anonying or stupid while mimicing stuff)...
...but the DS Lite hinge crack thing is not cool...now I'm getting nervous, myself, since I own a DS Lite. But, frankly, I take good care of my DS Lite (I hope), so I probably won't have to worry about this issue TOO much.

For me, I'm not sure which (although I always take incredibly anal care of it). All I know is that I'm betting an idiot dropping it directly onto the side, on concrete tile, had something to do with it.

There's yet another of the same clicks when you do it at a 180 degree angle. It's intentional.
Hell, most of the demo kiosks have the system at a 180 degree angle, too.
