I'm looking forward to Patapon 2, the new Batman game, Heavy Rain, Assassin's Creed 2, God of War III (even though that won't be until next year *sob*). I don't have a Wii but I'll be yoinking my brother's when Muramasa and Samurai Warriors 3 come out. I hear the next several Layton games are going to be released in quick succession. And just recently there was Street Fighter IV, RE5, and Madworld.
Uhhh plus Dark Void and Bionic Commando, KH3 and FFXIII, End of Eternity, White Knight Chronicles (if it ever comes out) and... Fat Princess??
Last year was worse. Lamest E3 ever! But this year is looking up so far (to me, at least).

Something interesting? Consider this : I'm not Japanese, so that rules out Kenji (no I won't be importing). I wasn't impressed with Patapon, licensed games tend to suck massively (so screw Batman), I didn't like Assassin's Creed, Heavy Rain I heard about, looks like a FPS so screw that noise, God of War's formula peaked at the first one. Muramasa Chronicles is a big maybe considering I hated how Odin Sphere's gameplay sucked the fun out of it. Never played Layton, not sure I want to. Samurai Warriors 3 on Wii, again, I'm not Japanese.
Dark Void/Bionic Commando = Capcom, which I'm not too sure I actually want to support. I like to buy complete games. KH is a complete joke after the second one, and you know my opinion on any FFs after VI and even then that ain't all that and a bag of tricks. End of Eternity is complete lol considering tri-Ace hasn't made a good game ever (just popular ones) although I might check that out if I hear Motoi Sakuraba isn't on the soundtrack, and White Knight Chronicles looks like it's the worst Level 5 game yet (granted that's not all that hard to do since Level 5 has dropped a lot of quality titles - it also helps that I don't have a PS3 so for most of these titles I'm not exactly the target audience).
As far as what kind of game I would look forward to? At this point, not much. The only two I am looking forward to are KoFXII and BlazBlue, but even then it's really only mild enthusiasm more than "ZOMG MUST HAVE."
Champions Online won't hit it's release area at all, and it'll probably launch with 20% of all the promised customization so that's out as far as MMOs are concerned.
NMH:DS is scheduled for next year (so this year is a bust on that), and Wii Punch-Out!! will be a title that I will refuse to buy due to lack of content.
So yeah, there is literally nothing for me this year. I checked, I double-checked and barely anything. They'd have to announce something that is made of absolute win and a must have for me to even bother at this point. I'm assuming this year's E3 will have me revise this statement, but yeah.
What I'd like? Fairly easy - A Shadow Hearts that follows the spirit of the first and second ones instead of coasting on reputation like the third one did. A mix of gameplay that has been very present in the PS2 era that is now swiftly disappearing due to lack of quality titles (the dungeon crawler/beat 'em-up genre. I'm sorry to say, but Dark Alliance 2 was a good game for 2 player action. Not the best, not remotely near that, but at least it kept us entertained) RPGs that don't insult my intelligence and actually try to do something good instead of faptacular graphics with unlikeable characters and an even worse story.
You know, what's not out there right now?

it's all shootan and action games. what i want is a good rpg that i can sink my teeth into that hasn't completely abandoned traditional rpg modes of play (i fucking like turn-based fights), or a really good survival horror game (silent hill: homecoming is shit), or maybe a good third-person action RPG with an interesting plot (the only one i can think of off the top of my head is killer7)
i am sick and tired of the shit that's coming out this gen. action action games, fpses, tactics games, sports games, DEEP drama games, bad rpgs. there are some interesting things (littlebigplanet, re5 is fun, left 4 dead, dead rising maybe?) but overall this gen is total shit

It's pretty much, play for play, an RPG from the late 90s/early 2000s. Not really terrible, decent FFXish battle system, the skippable short stories popping up get kind of annoying but they're all actually good reads. It's not the best RPG ever, but it's a fun old style JRPG with turned based fightan and fairly challenging bosses. That said, I don't like it more than the RPGs from last generation, the generation before that, or the generation before that, but it's playable.
