It was released earlier this week. Who's got it? I'm gonna hold off getting it for the next 2 and a half weeks to give folks eough time to make custom clothes, etc. for the game XD

I'll BUY it next weekend but I won't play it right away. I know that once I start, I'll have to hold off playing the 5 Xbox 360 games I bought earlier this year and barely played XD

Got it. It's really cool! Only thing is my computer is crap and so the game is laggy and the graphics are kinda suckish, but I seriously do blame my computer for that. Otherwise, it's amazing and I suck at it but it's so much fun.

I want it, indeed, but it would probably butcher my computer. It's bad enough as it is.

I bought the special edition for the cool Jump-Drive thing. :wellington: It's really cool and I made myself on the game. Unfortunately though, the male hairstyles seem very limited and my computer is pretty new but the game is still kinda choppy. <.>

All the hairstyles are pretty limited. I was hoping for a slider to control the length of their hair.

There probably is something like that and I'm just missing it, but still.

It's not as open as Sims 2, you can't make you're own neighborhood..

Plus $70? No thanks.

Anyone remember how when the Sims 2 came out, alot of peeps had to get a new computer?

I personally didn't have that problem and since my computer can run WoW or The Sims 2 no problem, I don't think I'll have anything to worry about with the Sims 3.

If you guys have issues with lag, check and see what programs you can get to speed things up or delete resource-consuming programs.

I'm getting a laptop for my birthday in July so I'll probably get it then, the price would have gone down a little bit too. I would try it out on download but it's just too much for my poor broadband to take, the 4gb or so would take at least 10 hours!

Where I downloaded it from it was like 500 seeders and 5k leechers. My max speed down was like 40 kb/s

Hi :).. I just got the sims 3 and I was thinking about a work expansion.. I see that it say police station at the top but that noone is talking about it.. Have you heard anything about that kind of expansion or what? it would be cool to play as a police and do the police work as well instead of just see the face of the guy inside the building and later do the work when you have came home..

Opps forget about this .. except that it would be cool to go out on the streets and chase bad guys as a cop and go to war as a military I just noticed that the "Police station" word was hmm the name of the topic or what ever it is called.

I agree. The Sims Resource will probably come up with downloadable hairstyles, though. It'd be nice to control their height, too. There's not much difference in height between teen Sims and young adult ones, in my opinion. Also, story progression can get out of hand. My mom left one single male Sim alone for a bit and when she came back he had a random baby that came out of nowhere--really, he had no girlfriend or wife at the time (maybe he adopted? o_O). It'd also be nice if you could go into the buildings. Then again, it'd probably lag a LOT more...

Can someone be nice enough to explain to me how to use multiple sims in the same neighborhood? I'm tired of one family and want to make them take care of their own triplets but can't quite figure out how to make another family in the same neighborhood.

I'm waiting for my birthday to get The Sims 3. I've seen some of the footage and it looks amazing!

I'm glad that I do get to wait though as that gives creators more time to start creating awesome custom content!

first you should start by clikcing those three dots and then chose "change city" or something similar. Then you should be able to create a new family and then move the family in a house and then choose "change active family" or something. But remeber when you change active family your old family will loose thei stuff in their invetory.

I really wanna get it, but I've read a lot of mixed reviews. Mostly it seems to be a problem in customization and how there's only one neighborhood(other things as well, but I don't remember them all XD). I'm afraid of spending 50 bucks and not enjoying the game. :sadshoe:

1st off, let me just say that you can get more neighborhoods, and I don't know if this is just from pre-ordering or if it comes with everything, but the game package gives you a code to download the other neighborhood that they made.

The game also gives you a free ten bucks to spend on the Sims 3 site. This lets you buy more hairstyles, clothes, furniture, any really except neighborhoods (which might come later, we'll just have to wait and find out). The game also hardly ever lags for me. The only times it did were when I was loading a family or something, but even then it was only for a split second (then again, I do play this game on a Mac *shot*).

One question though, can you really make your own neighborhood in the Sims 2? I thought they only gave you the four to work with o.o If you can make your own neighborhoods in the Sims 2, could someone please tell me? thanks :keiko:

And if anyone wants to know what the system requirements are for either PC or Mac, I can list them here :will:

Yeah, you can make your own neighborhoods in the Sims 2. It's at the very end of your neighborhood options and it says something like, "create your own neighborhood." Then, you make up a name for it and choose what kind of neighborhood you want. :pearl:

I bought it recently, and it's great. I might even get some expansion packs for this, unlike with the Sims 2, which I completely forgot about for ages until a few months ago. I love the new character design features, and I love making houses, although, I am having trouble putting roofs on the houses that I build, For some reason, they just never appear.

Well right now they don't have as much hairstyle wise, but they'll probably add more later. Also some of it is free so you don't need the Sims points. Oh and thanks! I always hated that Romeo and Juliet town... xD

I have to say, I got the game, and I'm not a fan.

Now, before you blow me off, you absolutely must understand that I am like, among the biggest Sims fans you will find. I have a lot of problems with this new sims:

1) It's ridiculously slow, and looks even sillier than Sims 2 did. To put it niceley, they're a real step down from TS2 The graphics are just crap to get them to run on my computer, which, happens to run Sims 2, all graphics options enabled and maxed, like a dream. I was really pissed. Also, there are no male hairstyles at all, and I know they're supposed to look cartoony and all, but really, just about every part of a Sim looks silly...

2) The features, they're really lackluster. I mean, I could've done without the load screens and such in Sims 2, but the whole neighborhood thing doesn't bug me. I mean really, they take away all our features. For what they're asking, you'd think we would've gotten a little more from our old EPs. I mean things like SEASONS at least.

Also, were the loading screens really ALL that bad? Sure they were an annoyance, but I feel so disconnected from my sim now, I feel like I'm just playing a dumbed down Sims 2 with Sim City intermingled. I hate that you just go to the place and disappear.

3) The complication: They make adding custom content such a pain, same with making it, I am a big modder, and honestly, I haven't had this much trouble adding CC in any game that takes it. Really, in TS2 all you had to do was make a folder and then your good to go.

</rant>

Whew, I'm glad I got that over with, I needed to get that out of my system. Heh... anyway, I just wouldn't reccomend it if you're really happy with Sims 2.

Also...

Well it wasn't the actual TOWN that bothered me, it was all the premade families trying to recreate the Romeo and Juliet story. As you can probably tell I moved all the families out xD

not a Shakespeare fan I take it? lol.

I thought that it was kind of cool, but that's besides the point.

I'm halfway (moneywise) to getting the sims 3. but I need to find my lost ten dollars that I probably gave to my mom to pay for something then she made me pay again >.<

but seriously. I would do anything to get it right now...

anything legal. like... run downstairs wearing my little sister's twilight crap, watch the movie, do the hokey pokey while dunking my head in a bucket of chocolate milkshakes, and probably even declare my (nonexistant) love for edward cullen. (my mom keeps trying to get me into twilight. it's not working :mina: )
