For me I'd say it's any desert (besides FFX's, I liked that one) or generic FIRE FIRE EVERYWHERE levels. I hate 'em.

As pretty as all the music is in the areas, I really hate underwater levels.

Oh gawd. Especially those levels in Sonic games where you spend a lot of time underwater. I'm always like AAAAAAAAAAH WATER BAD NO NONONONONO the whole time ;_;

Yea, I hate underwater levels. D:

I think there's a level on a Sonic game I have where you're Rouge and you're looking for the emerald pieces in space. And you can fly to different little planets, but getting off of them is a pain because they have a gravitational pull. D:

And the Wind Temple in 'Zelda: Wind Waker'. Mainly because it's so hard trying to control Makar while flying. ><

I hate underwater levels the most. I'm never good at them, like when I play Super Mario World or Donkey Kong... Blechh

I also hate going through deserts and forests in FF games.

In Kingdom Hearts, The Little Mermaid world (underwater), it was really hard to get used to the swimming and such, so I didn't care for it much.

I also dislike cave/forest areas in Pokemon - but ONLY when I'm actually trying to progress (and not train/grind.)

Everyone seems to hate underwater areas. Someone should tell the game developers.

I also hated the dark rift in Skies of Arcadia. Made me feel uncomfortable. x_X

yah i'm not huge fan of under water places either of course there are always exceptions and the music always pretty i just like costal areas better cause everytime i control some one under water they look like there intoxicated

though the place i hate the most is those weird generic underground temples there boring and generic and every monster there sucks seriously why is there that level in every game

I thought eh made that level much more epic and hilarious personally :)

Anyway, I do rather like underwater levels. Find them relaxing.

As for what I dislike? The barren planets with nothign to do in Mass Effect. I generally avoid exploration.

Underwater Areas, of course...

Also, this: Any game, where there's a "Sky" Section that takes, like, 20 minutes to get to from the ground... and when you get to the section, there's a bunch of narrow "pathways" and Hard-To-Reach "platforms" that make death ridiculously common...

... Bonus points if there's something to make it even more irritating... like WIND!!!

THE TWILIGHT ZONE IN TWILIGHT PRINCESS.

The rest of the game freaks me out enough, and being sucked into little flying black square land my a big monster hand scares the crap out of me EVERY TiME.

And I still don't know why >_>

Underwater escort missions with a time limit and instant-respawning enemies and constant stopping by the escortee to say "hey look *PLOT DEVICE PLOT DEVICE* blargh im ded".

Pretty much any area with a long period of nothing to do (biggest example the nearly endless stairs in the Shinra Building in FF7. Five minutes of my time wasted climbing up stairs, ugh...), or as a lot of people have said: Underwater levels, they just bug me.

Water and flying levels.

I guess what makes them annoying is, while you're on land, you're just running on one flat surface. While in water or the sky, there is no floor, so you don't know which direction you're heading and it can be hard to steer.

Some examples of this are Mario and the old Spyro games. Especially that water level in Ripto's Rage with the seahorses.

Actually, a lot of stages in Spyro annoyed me.

YES!!! Love the game, hate the underwater lack of physics. And hate that the third one got scratched and I can't finish it for the first time!!!! :larry:

I don't like underwater levels, but I also don't like a certain part of Okami...

Flying areas. I was always scared to go out of the boundries in any game for some reason, and these were the worst.

Underwater Levels indeed. An exception is Ryugu Castle in Goemon's Great Adventure, the underwater sections there were great. But Dream Castle's version can go to hell. >.> Oh, and the friggin' WATER TEMPLE from OoT.

The Dark Rift from Skies of Arcadia.
Any desert level in Fire Emblem.
Joke's End from Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga.
Flopside's/Flipside's Pit of 100 trials from Super Paper Mario.
The Subspace Bomb Factory from Brawl. (Well, on Very Hard anyway...)
Mt Coronet from Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. I dunno why, but I'd rather go through Victory Road again then Mt Coronet. And Victory Road's a pain.
Wistful Wilds from Pikmin 2. Dunno why, but I could BARELY gather any treasure there...:( Perhaps it was because I was younger then I am now.
3-4 in Yoshi Island DS. That level is just...ugh, so long and confusing the first time.

I've got to say, the absolute WORST area I've ever experienced was the Docks in the Middle District of Acre in Assassin's Creed. I mean really, first you make it where you touch water you drown, OK, I'll be careful, and avoid those ludicrously annoying drunks. Oh, whats this now?

Interesting, and it's all the way at the very edge of the boats and docks.

Now I bet you're gonna say that there are those stupid "platoons" that recognize you almost instantly, meaning you have to blend almost all the time you're there.

I see, and you're also going to tell me that I have to jump from point to point to get there.

Very well, but now your probably going to alert me to the archers, whom I can't get with my knives because I might fall.

OK, but now you're likely to remember to tell me that the earlier mentioned view-point is the SECOND TALLEST, and EASILY THE HARDERST view-point to scale. And should I make one small button push, I might jump willingly into the water.

Well.

You know what I say?

I say, I hate you Ubisoft. (It took me like 2 1/2 hours just to scale the freaking view-point).

SEWER LEVELS.
I have yet to see a game where those aren't either totally annoying, boring as hell or just downright stupid.

I really hate, in N64. To fly ;_; THAT'S SO FREAKING ANNOYING. I can't get up at all, i don't have control. I'm mainly trying to not fall, TER-RI-BLE. T^T

It was the freaking drowning music that I hated, like a more intense louder jaws theme, I always turned the sound off if I had to play a water level.

Shiva's Temple (Macalania?) in FFX just because the puzzle took so much time and backtracking if you wanted to get the destruction sphere.

The Phantom Temple in Phantom Hourglass.....gave backtracking a new meaning.

Oh and The final boss area and Atlantica in Kingdom Hearts, swimming was horrible to use and....the final boss area was alright but it's a final boss where most of your abilities are worthless since you have to fly meaning your combat abilities you've worked hard for are for nothing.
