I'm a big fan of the Monkey Island games and have been awaiting a new release for years! Is anybody excited about the news of this game's release? I'm very skeptical having watched the trailer that's been put up on the Monkey Island website. The ideas seem good, but I'm beginning to doubt it will be as brilliant or as funny as it's predecessors.
There's also the news of the Secrets of Monkey Island remake. Has anyone seen these and does anyone expect much from them?

It's Monkey Island, so I'll definitely be on it. (Someone even got me to play the first and second games for the first time just recently, in anticipation of the new releases.) Gotta say, the new character models didn't appeal very much, although that's probably not really the main point. I haven't seen the trailer but am also a bit apprehensive about the flavour of the game - but whether or not it lives up to the previous games I'll probably give it a go anyway.

I only saw one thing about the remake, can't remember what it was, a trailer or something, but that'd be interesting to look at as well.

Yeah, I'm definitely getting it, I was just a bit annoyed they replaced the voice actor of Le Chuck, but it was a nice idea to use the designs from the second game (even if the third game is my favourite). You can find the trailer by googling tale of monkey island trailer!

I am playing the remake, I like it though saying that I do not truely remember the older one as it was years ago when I played it but obviously the graphics are better and sound is better. Did the original have full voice acting? The remake does, though can be irritating at times.

The original didn't have voices. Hopefully I'll get TOMI as soon as I get some imported games out of the way.
