Don't even rent it, unless you're desperate for trophies/gamer points.
The entire game consists of repeatedly solving variations of the same four puzzles over and over and over and over again in an abandoned mental hospital, mostly for clues and weapons to defend yourself against Jigsaw's minions (most of which want to kill you because you have the front door's only key sewn inside of you, though the odd person will cower in fear at any sign of human contact). However, weapons (outside of the pistol) just cripple you more than being unequipped. The battle system breaks down to nothing more than who can hit the other person first and then mindlessly beating on them with the weaker but fastest attack. Most characters are too smart to fall for any traps you might want to set, unless you set them as they're running at you (but then you'll usually get caught in the trap as well).
This game isn't even a survival horror, as items are littered freaking everywhere and there's absolutely nothing horrific about the game outside of its quality. You'll constantly find yourself unable to pick up 80% of the things you find because you're already at the maximum number of items you can carry. Weapons are also freaking everywhere, but as I said before they only make combat more difficult.
The game also features zero replay value despite having two horridly terrible endings (and just like in Fable 2, you simply have to load your last check point to get all of them).
Every achievement is basically hand delivered to you, and you'll be hard pressed not to get the 1000 points in your first (and only) play through.
The game has five video files within it; One for the intro, the two endings, the E3 trailer, and the Saw 6 trailer... and dear lord are they crap quality. I am not exaggerating when I claim they look like 180 x 240 video clips taken with a cell phone and then posted on Youtube. They are blurred to crap and the audio is crap.
Absolutely no effort was put into this game, which is a little alarming considering James Wan (writer behind Saw and Saw III, arguably the two best installments in the franchise) wrote the story for the game and Konami wants to make it the next Silent Hill. Know what else is stupid? This game was made in ridiculously limited quantities. Most stores across North America only got one copy of the game, if that. Maybe Konami was embarrassed.
